Honestly if our Sea World visit had been better or Disney was opening sooner I might have waited longer on getting a Universal pass. But after hearing several positive reports and wanting to be able to visit a park again (and this is my technically closest park) we went for it. Hopefully subsequent visits will be just as good or better.

I just laugh at this because it is soooo true! I love the system they have setup for Hagrid's for the virtual queue and I can't imagine riding it any other way. I actually hope to see a system like this used for Rise of the Resistance. Instead of opening up all of the spots at park opening, they just randomly add them throughout the day so you don't have to show up all at once.

I think this may have been my last trip to SoCal?!!? I honestly don't remember. I know KT and I are past due though for a big triumphant return!

The news is also reporting that even Disney has liens right now, mostly because soooooo many people were laid off or furloughed all over Orlando that some bills just didn't get paid due to no one being able to pay them who was left in the skeleton crews at the parks.

Thanks for the detailed report. Sounds like they're really trying hard. Hopefully the food service improves with a little practice.

^Not yet. Robb has a pass but mine is expired and we're trying to decide if we want to renew or not. We have also heard positive things though from park people and non-park enthusiast friends

It's one thing to ignore the rules, it's a whole other thing to then take the free thing they've given you to protect everyone and litter with it! Ugh! Humanity.

^Oh, I totally get that. I'm thinking more for the locals. Once again, we've been preparing and telling ourselves to assume no international travel for all of 2020 and maybe just one trip outside of Florida. Everything else we will consider a bonus. It sucks, but hopefully next year will be better.

A partially open, poor operations Cedar Point is still better than a fully closed Cedar Point...right?!?! I think!?!?

^&^^ I have such low expectations for this new coaster after Taron and this being at Universal that I'm sure it will exceed them and hopefully be quite good! Keep in mind, I'm like a super Intamin Fan Girl so that opinion should actually mean something!

The idea of a virtual queue for Hagrid's that you don't have to get there at opening for is actually quite attractive for me to think about renewing my pass! I like the 30th merchandise but the dueling dragons merch seems a bit too soon! Thanks for the report.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's ridiculous that out of everything happening people have chosen MASKS to go batshit crazy over. If we're stereotyping the 'Missouri' type people then shouldn't they be god loving Christians and do what is best for others?!?!

I fully believe that the parks are way more low risk than a lot of other stuff that's open right now and as long as precautions are taken that it can be a nice safe diversion that we need from life right now. I wish CP the best and hope they can find a way to open that makes sense for everyone. Like Bill, I really worry about how they can operate a park that big in a seasonal town with no international workers.
