  1. ^^ They can't put up a new sign without getting a permit. Any new ride will definitely be on the permit site the minute they apply for it.
  2. ^ Wouldn't it be taking the Six Flags route since they were called Big Spin between the Tony Hawk and Pandemonium themes?
  3. The "new coaster" could very well just be that GCI they want that they can't get built for whatever reason. Or a wacky worm, but honestly, at this point that would be a major investment too.
  4. ^^ That's exactly what I just got. The room full error popped up when I tried Facebook and Twitter to log in, and when I tried to use my email it just didn't do anything.
  5. As someone who's often at the Illinois Great America, I'm sad to see it's sister park in this state. I hope something good will come of this, but given Cedar Fairs history with it, I doubt it will.
  6. They had someone from Fun Spot on the show tonight talking about the expansion. I didn't listen to the show yet, so I'm not sure what they said exactly, but it did come from someone at Fun Spot.
  7. Looks good so far, my only problem is the impulses supports. The support towers should be moved inside of the track, or just done away with completely, as right now, the rides would smack face first into them. The also shouldn't go all the way to the top. The straight spike's should go about halfway up, while the twisted should only go up until where it starts turning. Other than that, it's a good start.
  8. ^ Yep, and there's just a wall that they run into and transport through called Platform 9 and three quarters. Just Youtube Platform 9 and three quarters and the scene is there.
  9. ^ Georgia Cyclone doesn't truly have the original layout either..
  10. The park posted a few new photos that give a good overview of the construction site and you can see how much this has really changed the midway. Link
  11. ^ I'm sure whatever it is, it will have some theming. In this interview with IAAPA, JRA said theming is important in Six Flag's future. And they did do a better than I expected with theming RRE and GL, so hopefully LL:DOD and whatever is coming in 2013 will continue that.
  12. Wild Eagle. I just don't get what's so amazing about it. I'm not saying it looks like a bad ride, but when I look at it I just see a pretty ordinary layout with winged trains. I don't know if it's getting so much hype because it's at Dollywood or because it's plopped on top of a mountain, but it didn't make me want to go to Dollywood anymore than I did before it was announced. SkyRush is a close second. Again, I don't think it looks bad, and I'm sure being an Intamin it'll ride great, but it still looks like an ordinary hyper to me, with seats that are like sitting on the outside of a B&M 4-across train. But for Robb's most over rated, maybe Transformers at USH?
  13. I'm all for this, and I'm not a big Harry Potter fan at all. Personally, I've never really seen anything that appealing about USH. Since I'm not a huge movie buff, I've always looked at it from the ride stand point, and compared to the other Universal parks, and the other major parks in California, it didn't stand a chance. If they bring in one or two major attractions, it could put it on the map for me. If not, it'll at least look amazing.
  14. ^ As said above, it's only the first tests, things will be adjusted. If you look at the first testing videos of Mumbo Jumbo and Sky Rocket, they trim harder on the first drops compared to how they run now. Especially with this one having a new car design, I'm sure S&S and the park will be tweaking the trims throughout the rides numerous times.
  15. Six Flags Great America Knuckleheads Timber Falls Little Amerricka WI State Fair Not exactly an ideal year but I suppose its better than nothing, and heres looking for a better 2012!
  16. ^ Looks like their Ferris Wheel to me. In the pictures on the first page in this thread it looks very cramped, so maybe they're planning on moving it to open up some space and provide better overviews of the new area?
  17. Great to see them bringing in some new and innovative stuff right off the bat. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is the first Splash Ralley and Double Bowls Eye installation, and only the second 360 Rush.
  18. Looking at their website and Facebook it's definitely Wild Bills. The only thing I'm finding about dark rides though is this snippet from an interview. Link So could they have more than dark rides up their sleeve? Interesting..
  19. ^ I'm thankful for Six Flags not running our Great America the way Cedar Fair ran yours. And I'm really thankful that Robb has stuck with TPR and built it up to the website it is today, which I have made some really awesome friends as a result of.
  20. From what I've read, supposedly after the Deja Vu debacle and the ride being pulled from SFGAm and SFOG Six Flags pretty much swore off ever buying from Vekoma again. Sounds kinda dumb at first, but I suppose if you look at their history of having large orders from Vekoma (7 coasters in 2001) and then not having any for 11 years, that speaks for itself.
  21. ^ According to their website it will run from December 5th to Dec 11th. Patrick, did you happen to catch the half second you were in the video representing TPR for the whole world to see?
  22. Very interested in what S&S has brought to the show this year. The GL car looks like quite and a step up from the SH, MJ, and TD cars, and the mini-hu, despite being designed for kids looks like it's really fun for older rides too! Because this is the "mini" hu, maybe the have a full sized version or just plain "Hu" in development geared more towards a thrill ride with greater capacity? This has got to be my favorite photo so far though. I loved just watching a robot carve a picture into a piece of wood, I'm sure this is amazing to see in person.
