  1. ^Yep, Marleys has relocated to a much nicer building, and it now has a night club of it's own, but I'm sure soon enough Mt. O will buy it and convert it to Wett 2.0.
  2. Well, Soak City is getting ready to install the mat racer, by removing the speed slides. Link Kinda lame that they can only add something for once by removing something else. Oh well, it's nice to see them add a modern slide atleast. Slide repaints look good though. http://www.screamscape.com/html/cp-2012_1.htm
  3. ^ I think part of the problem is that they just keep expanding and buying more property, and going for quantity over quality. Just this year they added tree houses, vacation houses, bought a hotel nowhere near the park that's past the downtown Dells area, and bought the Marleys restaurant next to Noahs Ark and converted it into a night club. I agree that the park has potential, and while they've definitely taken it a long way from what it was and made it WIs only big park, they still have a long ways to go.
  4. ^^^ If Colossus were to get a full blown NTAG treatment, it could take a year like NTAG did so most of the work could be done in 2013, but it wouldn't open until 2014 leaving time for something to open in Log Jammer's spot for 2013. Besides, rides can close without having something replacing them immediately. Splash Water Falls at Great America close in 2007 and it's just getting replaced in 2012. Rides close and leave for all sorts of reasons, it's not always that they need the land for something else. How long as Metro been sitting unused and unreplaced now?
  5. ^ Bings map is updated with Maverick. Since Bing compiles the map with views from different times, you can see Maverick sitting in a mud pit with the heart-line roll, and then rotate the page and all the sudden it's above a lake with the s bend in place.
  6. ^ Is it working for you? I got it the the first few days it was up, but not anymore. Any other park works too.
  7. ^ It was going to be re-themed as "Green Slime Falls." Really glad that canceled though, I thought it was a great ride with some pretty impressive theming.
  8. Here's a different screen cap I took that doesn't have the glare over the skull rock. A little easier to see.
  9. The top of the NU website now reads: http://nickelodeonuniverse.com Sad to see it go, but at least I got to experience it before it went. Are there any Roto-shakes left in the US? The only other one I can think of is in Dubai.
  10. Here's my entry. First time uploading a park so let's hope I did this right! http://www.themeparkreview.com/game_exchange/track.php?id=2474 Overview.BMP Overview Garden Grove.BMP Garden Grove - A quiet corner of the park featuring a spiral slide, carousel and car ride. Boomtown.BMP Boomtown - Experience the rapid growth of this town during the mining era while you take on two coasters, two water rides, a wild simulator, and the best food the west has to offer. Blue Bay Harbor.BMP Blue Bay Harbor - Blue Bay Harbor and Fiesta Boardwalk feature your favorite rides, all on the waterfront. Three coasters and three flat rides make this boardwalk paradise the place to be. Southwest Territory.BMP Southwest Territory - Take a trip down south, way down south, and experience fast paced go karts, two spinning flat rides, a crazy kiddie coaster, and get soaked on the parks only water coaster.
  11. Do you happen to know if S:EFK will be closed for Drop of Doom construction?
  12. Woah, they really switched up the plans compared to what they had in 2007. Link While volcanoes are cool and all, I'm very intrigued by the lift in the castle tower and the interaction with the castle from the flume and coaster. And it's just great to see a new log flume being built and a small park expanding, definitely something I'll be watching closely.
  13. Looks like they're gearing up for footers soon, but I don't see any already in the ground. It's amazing how close the construction is to Demon, the turnarounds and corkscrews will have some great views of the ride. Still can't imagine X Flight sitting there, it just looks too small for it!
  14. X Flight's Construction webcam is up - http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/rides/XFlight.aspx
  15. Also from Club Blood, but at Kings Dominion.
  16. Holiday World announced via Twitter the name for the new vertical swing. Link And the name is... http://www.holidayworld.com/rides/sparkler
  17. Why does the park "need" a launched coaster? Just because a coaster has a launch doesn't make it automatically good. Would you rather get yet another cloned coaster that has a launch over a unique coaster with a standard lift?
  18. The park confirmed multiple times at Q&A sessions and on Facebook that the ride will keep the blue and green color scheme. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=260976550606662&set=o.52129033739&type=1 (See bottom comment)
  19. ^ Rides can reach the end of their life at any time, doesn't matter if somethings replacing it or not.
  20. Terror Twister's programmer/creator uploaded a really great video of a new Terror Twister program for this year. I like that Terror Twister is a unique incentive to go to Fright Fest, but seeing this makes me wish it was year round, as it's just so much fun.
  21. Sounds like something off the ride listing IRM posted today. (2011 77 mph launch coaster) Link
  22. ^ Just because some management is leaving doesn't mean the park is closing. Seeing as yesterday they shot down the rumor on Facebook and sent out season pass specials today, I think they'll be fine for 2012 at least.
  23. Going back to something I posted before, here's a picture of Soak City water slides being repainted, something long overdue in my mind.
  24. The owners last name is Merrick, add two a's and you get something thats sorta similar to America! But as Jo said, being in Wisconsin helps. They could spell it with a z and batman sign and no one would notice.
  25. I've never heard anyone say anything like that for any park, why would anyone object to something that would be there to make them safer? There are people who carry around weapons, and while I'm not saying park violence is a common thing, I'd rather wait an extra minute or two to know no one has any sort of weapon. And just because they haven't had any issues doesn't mean they don't need them. Don't wait until something happens to install them, install them right away so nothing ever will happen.
