  1. ^ Yeah, I saw that brought up earlier in the thread. It's a nice feature that I've seen used before in similar ways but my "muscle memory," so to speak, for the forum was looking at titles rather than symbols. I'll get used to it!
  2. ^ I'm curious if for the Christmas event, whatever it may be, they attempt some type of performance for guests. I know Snoopy On Ice is a tall order with the pandemic but a Christmas event without some kind of storytelling medium just seems empty.
  3. So with post titles we see bolded titles for threads with new posts and non-bolded for no new activity since last visit, same as the old forum. However, the old forum was a lot more noticeable, for some reason. Maybe it's the color, maybe it's a slight font size change, I dunno, but differentiating between threads with or without activity is a bit of a pain currently. Is there a way to change the color of threads with no new activity? Light blue to slightly darker blue or purple?
  4. ^ Hoooooooooo boy yeah they're gonna really have to give Newsom one hell of a blowjay for him to change his mind, haha.
  5. Ah, Account Settings, not Profile. Got it! Thanks!
  6. It's sounding like we have two casualties of the pandemic at DLR. Frozen Live and Mickey & The Magical Map are both dead for now according to some friends I have in the theatre world. In my opinion neither were very good but they were HUUUUUGE people-eaters for large chunks of the day. This will definitely have an impact on lines when the resort finally reopens. Here's hoping they take this opportunity to eviscerate everything from Frozen Live and install a short-form Newsies or Mary Poppins show. Frozen Live is horrible.
  7. Almost two weeks later and we know this was all bull. Apparently he's going to be "speaking with theme parks" sometime this week, but I'm not expecting anything special.
  8. Wait a minute, a Gerstlauer inverted? That'd be a first. I'd guess Intamin or Mack before Gerstlauer, but I'm also dumb.
  9. Hmm, seems to be the case. It only animates if the cursor is hovering over it. Might be a Windows vs. Apple thing, too. No biggie. As for signatures, where can I edit that? All I'm seeing in Edit Profile is an About Me section, nothing for a signature.
  10. That whole side of the park has always been a bit odd with the walkways. I recall when I was last there in Cannibal's debut season the area surrounding Cannibal was especially screwy because they designated a few one-way areas to deal with the line. Looking at Google Maps, though, there's a very easy connection to the main park between the S&S tower, pavilions, and raft slides. https://goo.gl/maps/X6t7JAta68QFHkxaA The location marker is the plot where the new coaster is being built.
  11. They should just get rid of the Zim ride. Excellent show, stupid ride idea. Sandy's looks ridiculous, though. That's great to hear it's a solid ride; hopefully it'll find some traction as a clone.
  12. Alright, so I just had to hunt for my beloved Manatee gif and then resize it, but I'm on Firefox and it's a still image instead of the gif I uploaded. Any help? Everything else is aces, though, ESPECIALLY mobile. Tapatalk was a friggin joke.
  13. While VelociCoaster isn't great it's sure a hell of a lot better than the mouthful of Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. The issue I have with it is that "Veloci-" can be assigned to "Velocity" a hell of a lot easier than "Velociraptor." I dunno, it just doesn't click with me like it should. Then again, Universal's naming scheme has never really been on point. They just pick an IP and throw an extra few words after it, for the most part.
  14. Dragon Bar was fantastic. There's a ton of (hazy) memories I have from that place. I was so sad in 2016 when it was closed for refurbs. Even though I don't drink anymore I'll still happily spend a few evenings in that place with everyone!
  15. ^ Holy crap, I had no idea it was gonna be opening so soon! I can't wait to see what those new animatronics look like.
  16. Acquire. They acquire ideas from each other. Just like how I've acquired various random tools throughout my career.
  17. ^ One of their massive cinnamon buns that is covered in funnel cake batter, deep fried, then topped with boysenberry glaze and powdered sugar.
  18. $35 for a five-course tapas-style meal ain't bad! So long as the Fun Bun returns, of course.
  19. See, Skull Mountain with the roll-up doors open would still work since it was just an indoor, in the dark coaster. Dark Knight, though, wouldn't that ruin most of the effects since it was so reliant on lighting?
  20. This is probably the best answer. Most parks operate on thin enough margins already so nobody is going to be champing at the bit for new additions after a wasted year. If anything I feel like low-cost cosmetic improvements and essential maintenance will take priority, maybe swap out a train or two on the coasters. Hell, maybe Knott's will finally be able to run two trains on Silver Bullet and Xcelerator! Who am I kidding? Those are doomed to solo ops until the end of time.
  21. Whatever he's smoking, I want some. As for the 2021 addition, I can't think of a better use of that space. I'm curious how it will stack up against Van Helsing, though. It will almost certainly come down to theming.
  22. ^ Labor costs. Why pay a bunch of lifeguards for a night swim when the majority of your clientele is heading to dinner, shows, or nightclubs?
  23. ^ Waterparks in the northeast are dead past Labor Day. Hell, waterparks here in Vegas become ghost towns past Labor Day and we'll still be hitting triple-digit temps into October.
