Lost Island Waterpark planning Theme Park
KBrylczyk replied to diggerg56's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hope the park has the bankroll to survive their godawful opening strategy, truly I do, but I'm in Des Moines and have no interest in visiting until Mutagani (at least) is open. I can't imagine anyone is looking to travel to this place as it is now the most remote, inaccessible park in the country. They took the crown from Lagoon. -

That's actually a chain system. They were referring to Skyrush's lift that more or less throws the train over the hill. -

This would be Gerstlauer's first big boy invert, correct? This could get funky. -

Jesus, the photo they use on their site to advertise Coconut Cove just screams safety concern. https://www.worldsoffun.com/oceans-of-fun/water-slides-experiences/coconut-cove -

^ RMC didn't design the launch motors IIRC. Meanwhile SFOT is closing Mr Freeze every day from 2p to 8p due to Texas' godawful electric grid. Long story short, maybe electromagnetic launches are a bad idea these days? Let's go back to flywheels. -
Simple. Hersheypark is a FAR better park than any Six Flags, especially for families with younger children. Amish country is also a huge tourist attraction so there's a built-in audience. Nobody is driving around Central Jersey for shits and giggles. I lived in Monmouth and the only times I'd go into Jackson were either to go to Great Adventure or I was on my way to Philly. You know what else is in Jackson? Jack shit. Unless you're a rich golfer in which case Metedeconk might interest you, but that $250,000 annual membership might turn some of the Six Flags clientele off. Edit - Speaking of Metedeconk, I used to caddy there while I was in high school and college. I actually caddied for Joe Pesci a couple of weeks prior to him getting expelled from the club for tearing up the greens after getting too drunk. Nice guy, though, and he tipped extremely well.

Tivoli is fantastic and was certainly an inspiration for ol' Walt. If you get the chance, though, visit Die Efteling. The influence from that park on Walt is undeniable. -

Now that is a cool attraction! It really gets all up in Black Mamba's business! When we stayed at Hotel Matamba they had a miniature ropes course for the young'ns by the restaurant. I may have gone through it every chance I got because, c'mon, when there's a mini ropes course that's practically in the lobby it's expected. -

Not really but last time I was there they had a brand new Cici's Pizza and it was apparently THE place to be in Branson that week. Every time we passed the place there was a line wrapped around the building. I'm not exaggerating. So, yeah, Branson has tons of things to do like SDC, Cici's, and your pick of the cheapest, most washed-up, has-been entertainment this country has to offer! Edit - I mean seriously, look at this crap - https://www.branson.com/theaters/ -
^ Knott's and Magic Mountain have a much better location for spur of the moment trips to the park. LA and Orange County have over 12 million people living there. The entirety of NJ is 9 million. People in NYC and Philly have to travel at least an hour by car and there are no decent public transit routes to get you there. Monmouth, Ocean, and Mercer counties are generally the only people going to Great Adventure on the regular for funsies, especially with gas prices the way they are. Source - I lived ten miles away from Great Adventure for 25 years of my life. Practically everyone in Monmouth and Ocean had a season pass to the park. Outside of that area, though, you're looking at visiting once or twice per year.

Flight Force looks like they took inspiration from Hyperspace Mountain and Tron. If they did this refurb in Orlando I'd say it was a good call as the video elements are a huge upgrade over blacklight cardboard. Paris, though, they really downgraded the experience. Paris' RnRC was a wild ride through a concert's backstage, tons of practical lighting and truss, it really whacked you over the head with rock and roll. Shame. -

They're tearing out Wildcat to build the world's first RMC-ProSlide water coaster.
