I visited the park yesterday and here's my report: After being away from the park in about five long months, I happened to visit the park on the day of two big events in the park. The park was holding a concert from Bridgit Mendler that people were lining up for in front of the Northern Star Arena since noon, but I've never heard of her so I didn't bother to actually see it. Also, it was "Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella" day, and they celebrated it by playing the songs from the musical on the loudspeakers and holding a parade with the characters, which I missed by a hair. Anyway, since it's been so long the last time I visited the park, I was eager to visit the new Safari Off Road Adventure... only to be greeted by a line that stretched out to the sign of Runaway Train. Fortunately, it also meant that Runaway Train, Bizarro, and the Skyway all had less than 5 minutes each, so I rode then all with my mother. After a ride on Skull Mountain, I began to see that all of the lines were starting to pick up. I wandered off to Kingda Ka, which still had a sizable wait of about 20 minutes. El Toro was down for the day because of technical difficulties, meaning Rolling Thunder (just the left side was open) had a longer line than usual. The line for the Safari never got any shorter throughout the day, so I avoided like the plague and I'll just have to wait 'til my next visit. After a quick trip outside the park for some dinner, we were able to score some rides on Buccaneer, the Dark Knight, Deja Vu, two rides on Houdini. We also got the first ride on SkyScreamer with the lights on and a ride on the Big Wheel before my mother out early. Before the park closed through, I was able to get rides on Super Round Up (or whatever it's called now), Green Lantern, and Superman, each with little to no wait. Overall, I'm disappointed that I couldn't get on the Safari, but I was able to get a bunch of enjoyable rides with not to much waiting. Rating: 5 out of 6 flags I'll post the pics shortly....

Pictures: It's not everyday you see a coaster train being taken out for maintenance. The park's TVs are playing classic Looney Tunes cartoons. That's a step in the right direction! Alfred! How many times do I have to tell you to stop leaving my cowl at the cleaners?! How sweet it is! It's nice to get a good look at Lake Prospertown every once in a while. Here's my Trip Report for my visit last Wednesday... Report: I wasn't able to visit the park on opening day as I had originally thought, but it turned out that my trip on Wednesday was a overall a ton of fun anyway. That being said, there were of couple of unexpected letdowns at the park that I'll explain. I got to the park around 11:30 and the park was pretty much dead at this point, so I decided to go over to Nitro first. The good news for me was that Nitro had nearly no line and I was about to get a walk on, but the bad news was that the one of the two trains malfunctioned right before I was about to get on which meant that the train had to be put in the maintenance, and that Nitro would only run with one train for the rest of the day, so I decided not to ride again. Instead, I was able to sang rides on Batman (the batsuit in the station is mostly missing now by the way), SkyScreamer, Dark Knight, two rides in a row on Skull Mountain's back row, Buccaneer, and Super Round Up Fantasy Fling Tornado Swashbuckler. The best part was that all of these rides had little to no lines at all. Score! (Also, the queue for Batman: The Ride was playing the Prince songs from the 1989 movie instead of the usual water drop sound effects, which I thought was a nice touch. ) Kingda Ka didn't open until the afternoon, and when it did finally open up there was only one train operating the whole day. I still got a ride on it after a wait of about 15-20 minutes, but I avoided going on El Toro since it had the same problem. Bu far the biggest shock of the day for me though, was when I went on Bizarro, only to find out out that the sound system is completely gone now. The missing two seats in back rows were re-installed and everything! I new that the sound system wasn't working the last time I visited last season, but this took me totally by surprise! Afterwards, I was able to get some rides on the left side of Rolling Thunder (which also only had one train running), Runaway Train, and Skyscreamer once again. Also, I was able to do something that I've never done in the park park before: watch the Sea Lion show, which very entertaining considering that not that many people were even in the audience. One more thing I should mention is that Green Lantern was especially dead today (which is odd considering that it's the newest coaster) and I was able to snag 5 total rides on it. I wish I could say the same thing for some of the other coasters, but what are you gonna do? Overall Ranking: 5 out of 6 flags. The park being pretty much empty is always a nice thing, but if only most of the coasters weren't forced to have only one train running. Having no ZacSpin at all. What's worse than being stuck in the middle of a long line while the terrible, whiny music of today is blasting all over the queue?

I must admit, I did NOT expect Vanilla Ice of all people to ever appear at a Six Flags coaster opening! Now if only they could get AHNOLD to appear at the opening for the one in St. Louis, that would be awesome wouldn't it?

I'm so ecstatic because the Jacksons recently announced a reunion tour for this year and I wanna get tickets for their Apollo Theater concert so badly!

Coasterfanatics.com needs a serious overhaul. For instance, it needs to be updated in terms of what coasters are open. I still don't have an official Green Lantern credit because thay haven't updated it, so I had to add Chang to my ridelist. Also, I forgot my password and I've literally tried a dozen times to get a new password sent to me through e-mail but no e-mail has arrived at all!

I saw Viper getting featured on an episode of Glee last night, that was nice. Also, I miss Viper's older brother (Great American Scream Machine).

I don't have a definite choice, but it will be either Six Flags New England, Great Adventure or the Coney Island theme parks for me next.

Report: My family got to the park around 1:00 and I immediately went to get my 2012 season pass processed. Both Superman and Green Lantern had pretty long lines, so I went on Kingda Ka first, which was a 15-20 minute wait with three trains running. Next I immediately went over to El Toro and was able to squeeze in four rides in total, followed by three rides on Bizarro, each with waits of less than 20 minutes. I attempted to ride Twister and I actually got on the ride, but it experienced problems before it could start up, so I wasn't able to ride it. Unfortunately, both the Parachute Tower and Slingshot were closed the entire day so I decided to go to the east side of the park. I was able to ride Batman: The Ride, The Dark Knight Coaster, and before the day was out, two rides on Nitro. I was also impressed that the new Skyscreamer was topped off recently and I think it's a nice addition to the park's skyline. After we had dinner outside of the park, I was able to fit in a ride on Green Lantern and I was about to ride Kingda Ka once again just 15 minutes before the park was supposed to close, but as I was about to get on, it experienced some technical difficulties so I left the park aggravated. Overall, it was a satisfying day at the park. The weather was nice, the crowds weren't too big and I was able to obtain my 2012 season pass! Hopefully, all of the new rides will be open by the next time I visit the park.
