What area really needs a theme park?
Zack44 replied to let1gre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Long Island, New York. Granted we do have Adventureland in Farmingdale, but that place is a dump and doesn't offer much in the roller coaster department. By the way, I'm counting any of the Coney Island parks as New York City theme parks instead of Long Island parks. -
Yes, I used to love those shows. Do you care about preseason football at all?

They use the extra money to pay for the HDTV's in the employee lounge room. Christopher Kringle was quoted mentioning "ho", do you think that he's involved in an affair? -

Photo TR: Cedar Point 8/11/10

Photos: Finally here! (BTW my camera got the date wrong in case you were wondering) Yeeeeeeeeah, I'm not riding you now. *snaps fingers* Just a millisecond off. Just in case you haven't seen the other million versions of this pic already. I learned later that my mother & sister waited half an hour for this. After riding this, I can't wait for Chang's debut at Great Adventure! Can you tell by now I was excited? I love when the queues give you awesome photo ops! Good coaster, but a lousy paint scheme. Hello... *looks at line* ...goodbye. Mandatory shot Spectacular coaster, no wonder why it's still in the Golden Ticket's Top 10 after alll these years. Well worth the wait. Eh, why not? Tried to ride this three times (thrice?), failed three times. Another fun ride. *insert joke about the coaster/the weather bing twisted here* That's not a good sign (no pun intended) A shot of the new water ride in the rain? Make your own joke here. Out of the ten coasters I missed, I wished I could ride this the most by far. Another missed opportunity. Obligatory nerdy shot. Gee, how many people line up to read this? And I thought ads for Christmastime arrived too early. This gave a lot of airtime in the back rows. What better way to end a rainy day than with an artsy shot? Thanks for reading! -
Description: My family took a vacation in Ohio over the last few days, including a day trip to one of the most famous parks in the world. I was really excited and amped up to ride as many of the coasters in CP I could since it was my first time there, but little had I known that the weather would mess with my plans. We got to the park around opening time and the park was already filled with lots of people by the time we entered. I automatically went to Millennium Force first, which had a wait just under an hour with all 3 trains running. The ride was definitely worth the wait, definitely one of my favorite coasters ever and my favorite in the park. After that, I immediately hoped on Mantis, which had a 15-minute wait and was a nice ride that didn't leave me in as much pain as I thought it would. I followed that up with Iron Dragon and Corkscrew, which each had 10 minute waits and each were decent (Corkscrew was a bit underwhelming, but who cares). I also had enough time to get a ride on Magnum XL-200, which only had a 15-min. wait and was an amazing ride IMO, but ever so slightly behind MF as my favorite coaster there. We all left the park briefly for lunch outside of the park, by which time the clouds were gathering and the sky was becoming grey. My family left me at the park to find something else to do near the park (because my sister abhors theme parks compared to me). Some moderate rain started to fall five minutes later and as a result, EVERY SINGLE COASTER along with 95% of the other rides were closed. I walked around the park for 20 minutes looking for an open ride, taking pictures, and waiting for the rain to stop. Eventually, I started to give up and called my family to pick me up, but by the time they got back the rain was much less intense and I was able to snag a last-minute ride on Wicked Twister. My family was waiting in the parking lot for me and we decided to nap and wait for the rain to stop. I re-entered the park 30 minutes after that and got a ride on Blue Streak, which was better than I thought it would be. Next, I got in line for Disaster Transport and before I knew it, it started to rain again. Harder. I immediately ran back to the car (lucky for me, my mother was still napping) and by that point, I lost all hope and we left the park for good. But wait, there's more! We stopped at the same restaurant outside the park for restroom breaks, and what happens by the time we're ready to hit the road? The sky almost completely clears up! oom: I couldn't simply enter the park again because A: My sister never shut up about not being able to do what she wanted to do (while I was alone in the park) and B: The whole situation about parking fare that my mother had with the employees (since they kept leaving re-entering the park for me. But I partially blame myself, I should have been more patient and waited for the rain to stop, plus I forgot about the policy that Cedar Point puts on their coasters in the rain. Overall, a disappointment, but at least I got to ride a few of the better coasters. Ridelist: Millennium Force 1x Magnum 1x Mantis 1x Iron Dragon 1x Wicked Twister 1x Blue Streak 1x Corkscrew 1x I'll post my pictures a bit later. Stay tuned.

I went to the park today, and I can honestly say that Mother Nature hates me, the rain was on and off like a faucet. I'll postr my own PTR when I get home in a few days and away from terrible hotel internet. -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Hey guys, I'm going to Cedar Point for the first time in my life sometime next week when I'm on vacation in Ohio. Like anyone else on this website would, I plan to ride as many roller coasters as I can in a single day at the park and I need some advice. After reading information on some Cedar Point fansites, I've already figured out some of the more basic plans (i.e. arrive at the park early, don't ride Raptor first, you can't ride Jr. Gemini without a little kid, etc.) but there are still some things I need some advice on. Everything I've seen has suggested that I ride either TTD, MF, Maverick, or Disaster Transport first, which of these would be the best ride at the beginning of the day, given the summertime crowds? Which coasters (besides the ones I just mentioned) should I expect long lines? Is it better to have lunch and dinner inside or outside of the park, considering price and how long the outside restaurants are from the park? Are there any notable rides closed right now or that will be closed next week? Which notable non-coasters would you suggest if I have extra time in the park? Are there any coasters worth riding more than one time? Are there any coasters not worth riding at all? Etc, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance! I'll be sure to take many pictures of my own as a gift. On that note, are there any good places where I can sneak in a snapshot? -

Should I see "The Expendables" or "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World"?

Nice pictures, I haven't seen a whole lot of pictures of Coney Island on this forum ever since Luna Park opened up and it appears that the place is really lively and busy this summer. Hopefully I'll squeeze in a trip to Coney Island myself if I have enough time later this month, since I live about 60 miles from there.

Probably the feces because there would probably be less of it than the vomit. Would you rather walk across hot coals or watch the Jonas Brothers concert movie?

I wonder how Beavis & Butt-head will react to the music videos of today now that they are being brought back to MTV. I also wonder how the public will react to MTV actually playing music videos again.

Sure, why not? Have you tried those new Pretzel M&M's yet?
