NO! How much wood could Chuck Norris chuck with a woodchuck? -
^ I was talking about the second park. It was really looking great and I was really looking forward to seeing the finished product. I can't wait to see this third park expand. Your RCT2 abilities are very impressive. ... and sorry about your grandfather. It must really hurt to lose someone close to you.

What franchise should Six Flags tackle next?
netdvn replied to arson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ They could always advertise as a low budget chain of motels like Super 8, Motel 6, or Budget Host. That way they wouldn't have to worry about "cleaning up" as much... But even then, last time I checked, SF is much cleaner than it was 5-10 years ago. -
B&M vs Intamin
netdvn replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Let's keep in mind B&M is a conservative coaster company. If you look at most of their designs, they take the basic sitdown concept and take it a step further or take their concepts from other companies Look at their original concepts... Floorless - Sitdown without a floor Dive Machine - Sitdown with a vertical drop Stand-up - Innovated by Arrow/TOGO/Intamin before B&M had the concept Invert - their only innovative design, but based off the suspended concept Flying - Taken from Vekoma Hyper - Innovated by Arrow/Morgan before B&M So B&M doesn't really like to innovate or push the envelope as much as Intamin on other companies do. That's why all their designs are similar and most feel forceless. That's also why their coasters are more reliable and safer than most... -

^ SF has always been a mish-mash of themes. Let's see... They've tackled theme parks.... SFOT, SFOG, SFSTl, and possibly Dubai They've tackled indoor theme parks... SF Autoworld, SF Power Plant They've tackled waterparks... SF Atlantis, SFHH They've tackled animal parks... SFWOA, SFDK, Wild Safari Animal Park They've tackled buying theme parks... Every single other park outside the original three They've tackled selling theme parks.... SFEG, SFDL, Frontier City, Wyandot Lake, European theme parks, etc... They've tackled video games... RCT2, Six Flags Fun Park They've tackled children's books and Happy Meal toys... They've tackled barber shops... SF Roller Coaster Cuts Now all they need to do is tackle... Hotels Fast Food Supermarkets Banks Housing complexes Sports Teams Timeshares Toll Highways Tattoos Lawn and Gardening Law firms Dentistry Medical Doctors Hospitals Fire/Police Stations and maybe a Lemon Chill/Dippin Dots stand... -
Golden Park [RCT2]
netdvn replied to marktippins's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
The positives... The buildings are extremely well designed. I especially love the monorail building. The landscaping is amazing. The park reminds me of a garden almost... The negatives... The pathway around the entrance plaza seems a little plain and open. Maybe try adding more than one color footpath or including some more landscaping like flowers in certain parts around the plaza itself. Some of the buildings need windows or at least incorportate bigger ones. Many of them look like bare walls and it looks a little boring. --------------- Overall the park has some great potential. Keep up the good work. -

Those close-ups are amazing! The expressions of the riders is absolutely priceless! I especially love the shots with people posing and the ones where the riders are freaking out. There needs to be more PTRs with close-ups at the riders. The captions are also hilarious as well... Thanks for posting these.... Dan -

What is it about Kingda Ka?

^ But didn't TTD have to close when it stalled on the top hat again? Which would make STE the tallest, fastest coaster in the world. EDIT: Here it is posted in the Rumor Superthread. -

The're just testing the ride so I'm assuming the bird will be added later. Well S&S really isn't known to have the best capacity for any of their rides. You mean like Eagle Fortress? An EF, style Eagle Coaster actually sounds very cool although I don't think many parks would opt for one. -
B&M vs Intamin
netdvn replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Both DM's and Floorless coasters are basically modifications of the sitdown coaster. For a floorless coaster, all you have to do is remove the floor on a sitdown coaster, which is very easy to recreate. The Dive Machine is a sitdown coaster with a vertical drop and a larger train. Also, with coasters like the El Loco model, Eurofighters, and the certain Intamin coasters with beyond 90 degree drops, and the numerous non-B&M vertical drop coasters, the gimmick seems to be lost. I don't see the flyers as very gimmicky... -

The good... Tons of awesome high quality pictures! Some really interesting facts about the ride that I never knew before SF's wonderful job of upgrading old, dated rides to modern standards The bad... My computer won't load the huge amount of pics. What's with people posting tons of pics into a single post anyway? I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to view the rest. Overall awesome job!! -

Best region of U.S. coaster wise?
netdvn replied to Josh Linn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Yes I think the Northeast has the most parks simply because there are so many major cities to serve on top of the fact that there are so many smaller family run parks and large corporate parks to serve. Second place is the South because there are the Central Florida parks, combined with DW, SFOG, Carowinds, and FMP. Then there are a lot of smaller family run parks, but not as much as the NE. Third is probably tied West Coast and Midwest. The Midwest/Great Plains area has SFGAm, SFKK, CP, HW, SDC, WOF, and SFSTl on top of some smaller parks, while the West Coast has SFDK, CGA, KBF, DL/DCA, SWSD, Legoland, and some smaller parks. Mid Atlantic has the least amount with BGW, KD, and SFA, and not too many smaller parks. -

Dan's Theme Park Artwork Update 7 Part 2 A few more pics... Outlaw testing Built in 1925, Tornado is the CB's oldest coaster... The coaster in the background is Vertigo, a B&M Dive Machine built in 2007. This is basically an old meets new pic. -
^ A LOT of early Disney games like some of the ones made by Capcom and Virgin (at least I think its Virgin) are highly regarded and good games in general... Nowdays when most people think of Disney games, we normally think about the Hannah Montana/HSM games that are terrible, but back when Capcom and Virgin made Disney games like Duck Tales, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Lion King, and Aladdin, those were regarded as great games and are still praised even today. Granted there were a few bad apples here and there like TaleSpin and Rocketeer, but older Disney games are seen in a more positive light in general than newer ones. Now if only Capcom could make today's Disney games... Nah!

It looks like somebody needs a Big Mac with fries! I had Subway for the second time in two weeks (which is a real treat considering my health nut parents) and it was delicious. I had one of those $5 Footlongs with bacon, provalone, and a ton of other stuff! Subway's quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat.

I really hate those kids... They need to learn to share! Why did you call Trix cereal "cheep" cereal? -
I just found out that the're remaking Pokemon Gold and Silver as Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. And I'm very excited considering that GSC were the best Pokemon games ever! This will probably be the most anticipated DS game ever.

I went to North Carolina yesterday just so my mom could buy lottery tickets. I swear she's addicted... I also have an annoying English assignment due on Tuesday and its midnight over here. Dan - I need to get to bed before my parents catch me and take away my laptop...
