  1. What do you have against Moonsault Scramble? Personally I think that if the coaster is 200-299 ft, it technically is a hyper. Full circuit with nothing but airtime hills or not. Why not? A traditional hypercoaster is essentially a 200+ foot tall "wooden coaster" that uses tubular steel track.
  2. I love that song... Back on topic while searching for some HRRRRRR footage, I found an official non-animation POV of the ride with one of the songs that will be on the ride! It was apparently recorded before the track removal... MOD EDIT: Link removed, please stay on track and do not post seedy stuff like this. For those that missed it, it was a link with a ton of pop-ups, not a link to a POV. -Colin
  3. I have to read a long play and write a paragraph about the characters... I hate summer classes. But at least HS graduation is coming up.
  4. High School isn't really that special. Freshman year felt a lot like middle school to me. Sophomore/Junior year were average and Senior was my favorite (well it's probably everyone's favorite). So overall, don't be terrified of high school. As long as you have some friends to hang out with it isn't bad at all.
  5. The Good: - Excellent building design. - The new ride looks great The Bad: I'm assuming the new area is incomplete... - The new area still feels a bit plain. Suggestions: Add a bit more theming around the new area. Make it into an island (unless there's an actual Crawfish Island that isn't really an island at all) Make it look a more like a mining town.
  6. What's wrong with posting progress shots? I'm too lazy to click links unless you post some pics to go with them. How is posting construction of an NL or RCT coaster/theme park "tacky" when people post construction pics of real coasters all the time and nobody complains about it? Just post a few construction shots and then post the link to TPR or you could post your pictures from NLDC and wrap the links in the IMG tags.
  7. ^ It totally depends on the person. Each person has a different reason why they may fear inversions (or heights, or bugs). I know I used to be afraid of looping coasters when I was younger because they looked intimidating. Maybe they give the rider a strange feeling or maybe there's the fear of getting stuck in the inversion and not being able to escape.
  8. I'm getting the feeling that all this technology is bound to cause some problems on the ride. There seems to be so many computers onboard and on the ride itself that could go bad, causing a big headache for USO if the systems get damaged, crash, overheat, or something like that. I'm really hoping that all the MCBRs placed throughout the ride don't screw up the ride's pacing as it shows in the POV.
  9. Amazing pics. Retro construction pics are the best. Please post more when you can...
  10. ^ AC could be a hyper depending on what your definition of hyper is... Here's how I classify hypers/gigas/stratas... 200-299 ft - Hyper/Mega 300-399 ft - Giga 400-499 ft - Strata It makes it much easier to classify this way. Other than that, I tend to go with manufacturer names (Mega-Lite for Intamin, etc). If the coaster has a 100 ft lift, and a 200 foot drop, I still consider it a hyper. I'll even classify Griffon, Moonsault Scramble, and SOB to be hypers as well.
  11. It looks like the ride starts out very strong, but seems to lose its speed over the course of the layout... Maybe its because of all the MCBRs placed throughout the ride. The layout is top notch though. I'm very impressed.
  12. I have a feeling my 3 year old nephew is staying at my house for the rest of the year. He's stayed here for almost a month and I don't think my sister's gonna pick him up anytime soon. He's so demanding and misbehaves constantly. J ust today he started throwing random things into the garbage that I had to fish out. Then he started throwing temper tantrums like crazy. It's really getting on my nerves to the point where I absolutely loathe taking care of him. I just wish my sister would pay me to babysit for her... Dan - He really needs to spend more quality time with his mom for once - Nguyen
  13. If you're going for a spring-like feel for the entrance, I highly recommend using pastel for the walls and a dark red/black for the roofs. It also needs a lot more color. Add tons of different colored flowers and maybe some fountains to make the area look a lot better. Add a lot of colorful trees (like cherry blossoms) as well.
  14. I'm personally gonna take the Wolf comment with a grain of salt. I doubt Busch is adding a new land anytime soon (especially after they JUST added one this year) and I don't think they're getting rid of BBW since it's still fairly popular (even moreso than LNM is).
  15. Lol, you should talk to Chuck. You guys might be neighbors, and maybe he'll let you meet Angus mcnasty. Just because we live in the same town doesn't mean we're neighbors. ... although I do think I shook hands with him in church once. hmmm...
  16. Dreams where I got to hang out with my friends (makes things more interesting). Dreams where I get to visit theme parks that I've never been to. I often get brochures/maps as well, which makes everything better. Dreams where I get to go on vacation somewhere I had a dream where somebody gave me a whole closet full of video games and game consoles from Atari 2600 to PS3/Wii, but before I could break out any of them, I woke up.
  17. ^ Not that sad. Some of my friends haven't even traveled outside of my home state before. At least you've been to more than one state.
  18. Viva La Vida - Coldplay
  19. Rocket... Rocket... Bleah... jump. Ellipse... Ellipse... Something Random... Something else random... I ellipses.
  20. ^ I'm pretty sure it's been stated a million times in this thread before. http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/ex-works.html http://www.exworksinc.com/ http://www.answers.com/topic/ex-works
  21. ^ Or it could be the world's first Aquatrax/PnP hybrid coaster.
  22. Has anybody noticed that there are piles of wood arriving with the supports? Could this mean that Virginia will be getting TWO new coasters for 2010?
  23. The good - The landscaping is top notch - Rebel reminds me of SKC with Scream's colors - Night shots are fantastic The bad - The area around Rebel seems a bit barren Suggestions - Add some scenery around Rebel to make it look better. I suggest adding waterfalls, and maybe some Old West mine theming along the mountain to allow trains to interact with the layout. A few shrubs here and there would help make the area look a lot nicer.
  24. The good - The theming is excellent - Architecture is very good The bad - Building colors could use a bit more work Suggestions - Change the color of the buildings. I'm not really a fan of the monochromatic blue and green. Maybe have light blue/green walls and black roofs or something like that. Overall - The park has a ton of potential and from what I've seen so far, it looks amazing.
  25. Someday Love will Find You - Journey
