Marriotte's Americana
netdvn replied to DarkStitch626's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Interesting choice of drop tower name. Could it be a coincedence that both Marriott's Great America parks had a drop tower named "The Edge"? And your scenery IS amazing. I'll say you're among the best RCT2 designers here... I can't wait to see the actual finished product. -
^ Funny because I've had to take care of 4, 5, and 6 year olds tons of times before and they're much more manageable than my 3 year old nephew... Dan - I'll be out of the house and having kids of my own before Nick becomes a teenager - Nguyen

1. Even though I had a great time at the Outer Banks yesterday, it was sunny when we got there, but it started raining heavily during our stay and the moment we left, it was sunny again... 2. It looks so dark outside and its freezing cold, in the middle of May. Where's global warming when you really want it? 3. My 3 year old nephew is driving me crazy with his demands! I can't wait til he turns 4 or 5 so he becomes a little less annoying!

^ Just sounds like a regular word to me... Took a few naps today and I feel a LOT better than I did before. I love naps...

I just went to the Outer Banks yesterday and had a GREAT time! It started raining when we got onto the beach and the water was too cold for swimming, but I got to spend a lot of time with family and we had some great free samples at the many farmer's markets on the way down... If you're ever travelling to the Outer Banks from Hampton Roads, I totally suggest stopping at one or more of the many farmer's markets on the way down... On top of that, my mom won $15 in the NC Lottery. However the rain did clear up the second we left...

[RCT3] Phantasialand Remake **
netdvn replied to hyyyper's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
From what I can see so far, you're one of the best RCT3 designers on TPR. Going after a park like Phantasialand is gonna be very challenging, but from what I see here, you seem to be the type of person that can pull it off. Keep up the amazing work... Dan -
[RCT2] Excitement Point

Batman looks much better, although I still think it's a little too high off the ground. Did you finish the Superhero area yet? Last time I saw it it seemed incomplete. The S&S Towers look great so far... I can't wait to see everything else. -
Here are a few pointers I can give... 1. If you're able to, I highly recommend parking in the overflow parking where all the buses park (England parking lot). That way you don't have to deal with the long lines getting into and leaving the main parking lot... 2. Crowds at BGW can really vary... I've gone there on July 4th and the park was practically dead for much of the day, while I went on a Friday last season, and all the rides had extremely long wait times... 3. If you're spending the day there, I highly recommend hitting everything as early as possible just in case the lines pick up later in the day. LNM is almost always a walk on every time I visit... Make sure you sit in the back for a better ride. The ride itself isn't as intense as the other coasters in the park. BBW's lines shouldn't be that bad either. This is my number 1 Arrow so I highly recommend riding it. Alpengeist doesn't get very long lines either, unless you're waiting for the front seat... IMO this is the best coaster in the park. Every time I ride AC, the line ranges from 10-30 minutes. I totally recommend riding it in the back seat. Griffon's line averages at around 30-45 minutes, but the line can be as short as five minutes (allow extra time if you want to wait in the front) to two hours (at the busiest possible time). I've been able to hit all five coasters in under an hour on a Saturday (it really wasn't that busy). I hope you have a great time. Busch is an amazing park.

Carowinds Discussion Thread

1. It's pretty pointless to have two B&M sitdowns in the same park because a B&M sitdown and a B&M floorless are essentially the same ride. 2. Everybody assumes that Carowinds will be getting the hyper because... ..Carwinds has long been rumored to get a B&M hyper .. CF has been giving the other former Paramount Parks hypers .. KD just got a B&M so there's no real need for another huge coaster at KD .. There is mysterious red hyper track sitting in the B&M plant right now. .. Carowinds hasn't recieved a coaster the size of a major B&M in a long time. which means that TPR members will assume that Carowinds will probably get the mysterious red hypercoaster. Actually, I'm beginning to think that KD is quickly becoming the "favorite" of the CF chain, much like it was the "favorite" of the Paramount chain merely because KD has been getting new rides on a yearly basis ever since 2001 when HSXLC opened... The thing is CF is continuing that trend for KD while other parks don't really recieve anything... -
Magnum’s new sign at Cedar Point!

This comment is a bit old, but what about Corkscrew? Yes Gemini was CP's first height/speed record breaker, but Corkscrew had the most inversions in the world when it first opened. On top of that, it opened the same year Revolution opened at SFMM, so it was probably overshadowed by Revolution's "revolutionary" vertical loop... -
I've always wondered why people attack rap so much... Is it because it's the most popular form of music amongst young people? I always read comments about how "99% of all teens like rap" or some comment like that... It's not really that bad of a genre and its no worse than listening to 60s-70s rock music or grindcore/death metal (which is becoming more popular in young people nowadays.)

It's not "too mean" to feel bad for the child. Everyone should feel bad for the child's death because when a child dies, it often makes the situation much worse. Hopefully, the parents will receive the harsher punishment for not properly keeping an eye on their child and that they will not sue the fairground for something they should've done.

Carowinds Discussion Thread

^ ... and a sitdown. Here's the deal... The only park that I know of which has a B&M sitdown and a regular looping coaster is BGT, and they removed theirs not too long ago... The yellow track is a sitdown coaster (or stand up for all you people that think that SC means standard coaster), so the yellow track is not for any park with a floorless or a looping coaster... If it were stand up track, which I doubt, any park with a stand up coaster is also ruled out, which means that Carowinds and KD are ruled out for the yellow track simply because Carowinds already has a B&M stand up and a looping coaster, so it doesn't need another looping coaster. KD also has a stand up, but it also has a floorless coaster, which rules out KD for the yellow track as well... The red track on the other hand however, I believe Carowinds will get it because 1) KD is already spoiled with too many rides and 2) they just got a major coaster. KD may get another coaster next year, but it will probably be a small, yet thrilling coaster... Dan - Just saying ... Did I bring the Mysterious Yellow B&M discussion into the Carowinds 2010 thread? - Nguyen -

That IS true, however, there is red hyper track sitting in the B&M fabrication plant and Carowinds already has a looping coaster and a stand up coaster... On top of that Carowinds has long been rumored to get a B&M hyper and it seems to be the likely candidate. Now that I think of it, I don't think the yellow track would go to KD either considering the fact that it already has a stand up, a floorless, and a looping coaster, so the hyper might go there... Not to mention there are plans for a coaster with a splashdown, but that could be an Intamin Aquatrax with a splashdown for all we know right now. -
I'm really starting to get really pissed off with online flash videos (like YouTube) becoming all choppy and causing my internet to run slow. It's been happening on both IE and Firefox and it's very annoying because I'm forced to pause the video and pull the video seeker back to make sure I didn't miss anything... And on top of that, some videos STAY choppy the entire duration of the video no matter how long the video is paused. The only way I can watch the videos fully is to download them and the various video downloaders that I use either don't download the video fully, are too slow, cannot be converted, or don't even download the video at all. Also advertisements with sound... I'm really starting to hate advertisements with sound...

^^ The model of the coaster was green, which made me believe that it was originally planned to be the Hulk coaster. ^ I'm not really sure about DD or if it was planned to be in the park. -

The vid was pretty hilarious, but I got to the part where you said the ride was totally awesome and that you wanted one in your yard before my internet decided to freeze the video, causing me to miss out on the rest of it. -

Custom Scenery Request
netdvn replied to Six Flags Enthuseast's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Sounds very promising... As a fan of the RPGs, I can't wait to see progress. If you need pics of Pokemon, Bulbapedia is a great place to start. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page I have a question... Is the park based off a specific continent in the Pokemon universe? If so, which one? -
I totally agree with everybody else on the subject. I don't have kids of my own, but my sister has a three year old that I have to take care of. He runs around all over the place and he's very curious (although he's not as curious now as he was last year) ao he's always getting himself into trouble. The parents should be held responsible for letting a 2 year old wander around like that...

^No So I guess they decided to convert Hulk to Battlestar Galactica. The park is coming along very nicely though! I really wanna see what Battlestar looks like when. its completed. -

^^ I wish I COULD ride it... It looks like a lot of fun, and safe. It actually looks like an oversized Butterfly. Dan - Unsafe coasters are always fun and dangerous looking, not just fun.
