  1. Flying Daggers Red Kunai Fire Dragon Mc Donald's: The Ride Excellent work. I definately couldn't make a park in RCT with that much detail.
  2. First time on BBW The first drop into the village was probably one of the most intense moments on a roller coaster that I've experienced. The train felt like it was going SO FAST down that tiny little drop, the countless Wolf POVs that I watched before could not prepare me for anything like that. I actually thought that drop was actually better than the drop over the water. Second is my first time on Alpengeist. I remember reading that the coaster was forceless, but I did feel some forces at the bottom of the first drop going into the immelman and inside the cobra roll. The ride itself was very disorienting and I really loved it.
  3. Incredible, awesome, insane! I really wish I could visit Ohio this year. Those pics just emphasize my desire for Intamin goodness. Too bad the closest Intamin is about an hour north.
  4. Lets see here... I have a midterm exam that I have to turn in Monday that I've barely gotten done. I have a Power Point presentation on the culture of Vietnam that I still need to fix. My dad recently got out of the hospital from a near heart attack that he had not too long ago. The weather in Williamsburg is cold and wet. I probably won't be able to get any new credits this year. I have a C in Bio 101 and I got a D on a Philosophy exam. I have a feeling my I'm bringing my family down. That's pretty much all I've got. - Dan "I just wanna fit in" Nguyen
  5. ^^^ Bacon-bras? Could that be a new reason to love bacon? I think so! Now bacon tacos sounds very good! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_fried_bacon Now has anybody ever heard of chicken fried bacon?
  6. ^^ It comes down to bragging rights and something for the fanboys to swoon over.
  7. ^ Yeah and they usually get decapitated in the process.
  8. ^ Actually smaller parks could definately capitalize off an 18 year old Arrow Mega Looper or a Vekoma Boomerang because the GP LOVES rides that go upside down. IIRC, MiA recieved a boost in attendence after adding a used SLC. Now in regards to selling off major rides, Six Flags would be better off with selling the actual parks than the rides, but in today's economy and considering other companies are trying to sell off thier parks, I cannot see this happening.
  9. OMG! YOU"RE BACK!!! Your other parks are impressive and I can't wait to see more of this. PS: Your Orleans Place Boardwalk was one of the inspirations for one of my theme parks.
  10. Is it just me or are there too many coasters that end in E Expedition Everest
  11. WRONG! Bacon>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tacos Bacon is easily one of my most favorite foods. Because its so bad, my health nut parents refuse to buy it. In fact, my mom recently bought a bag of bacon bits that she may be returning because it's unhealthy.
  12. ^ Dude, I never knew that! Thanks for the tip.
  13. Aah! I see it now. The banking on the track does look a little strange. The round parts are like that because I go over them multiple times (they look much messier if I don't go over them. Because the work was made in pen, I cannot go back and fix it.
  14. HOLY CRAP!! That looks insane! The lift-elevator alone scares me for some reason.
  15. Since when was Anheuser Busch going out of business? Last time I checked they were doing fine! Busch - not really into theme parks anymore Disney/Universal - Maybe in a million years, but not anytime soon Herschend - I can't really see them buying Six Flags at all. And even if they decide to, I can only see them buying the original three parks and some of the smaller ones in the chain. Cedar Fair - They're considering selling some of their parks so they're not buying either.
  16. The theming on this ride looks very impressive. Too bad I won't be able to ride it anytime soon.
  17. ^ Wow! Brazil is really starting to expand in the coaster market along with China. As for the CP water ride, I really don't see them getting rid of ANY of their coasters for a new water ride. Maybe a few flat rides will be moved or something, but the coasters are gonna stay. My magic Dippin Dots cup claims that China will be receiving more and more coasters within the next few years. I can see some more record breakers and possible prototypes heading over there sometime soon.
  18. ^ Thank you Flipdude! I was waiting for a big-name TPR artist like you to see my work. I'll definately follow your advice. Part of the reason some of the buldings look strange is partly because I don't user a ruler. As for the pre-lift picture, I can definately see some wierd angles with the pathway. I'll try to fix that with later updates. I'm trying to finish up the unfinished pictures and will get them posted as soon as I can access the scanner.
  19. Dan's Theme Park Artwork Part 3a The new ride I'm posting is a Gerstlauer Eurofighter named Grind. The ride and the station is completely finished, and the ride is currently testing. The park, Wild America is the current "roller coaster capital of the world" with 20 operational coasters. The park was owned by Paramount before Cedar Fair bought the property. This fictional PTR comes in two parts because I still have two more almost-finished pictures and I really want to post this now. Grind features four inversions and a 97 degree drop. The ride was originally going to go into a building like Mystery Mine, but I know that Cedar Fair would probably not spend the extra money with theming. The ride is slightly inspired by the "Geronimo" coaster that somebody uploaded here a while ago. The ligter pictures were done in pencil while the darker ones were done in pen. Part 4's teaser shot. I will try to finish up the last two pictures and post them tomorrow. I don't color my pictures very often so this is a unique pic. A second unfinished picture, this one was taken in the queue line. This is an unfinished "through the trash can" shot of a section of the pre-lift. The ride's finale with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Part of the pre-lift section, taken from the station. The entrance to the ride. It is supposed to open sometime next month. The park opens in two weeks. View of the MCBR to Dive Loop section. The tran is going into the double down. Overview of the ride with a testing train. A picture of the ride with a testing train The entrance to the park. Rides from left to right... Eiffel Tower, X-celerator, Nickelodeon Splat Tower, Grind, Fireball, and Falcon. Concept for the coaster... I got rid of the frames surrounding some of the track because they took too much tiime to draw. Note the funny lift supports as well.
  20. ^ No its not! I'm glad Virginia FINALLY got a decent snowfall after years of barely getting anything. Even if it snowed during my spring break The weather quickly warmed up to the mid-70s by the end of the week too! If only it could stay that way for the next couple months
  21. Dude those strips are hilarious! Keep up the good work and good luck getting them syndicated. I would love to see my local newspaper pick these up.
  22. Log Flume = Le Scoot but everybody just calls it the Log Ride Those pics are awesome! It's really strange seeing LNM and the log ride without the B&Ms overhead. I was kinda disappointed that Le Mans was removed for Griffon since it was an original ride and very popular. Thanks for sharing!
