  1. I remember on a family vacation to Vancouver, we stopped for 15 minutes at SFMM. Me and my dad walked to the front gate. Every time Flashback would run a train, it would emit an extremely loud roar, probably the loudest coaster roar I've ever heard. Unfortunately the entrance was the closest I ever got to the park. (This was pre-Superman, maybe 1993-1994-ish) HS:XLC's brakes were also annoyingly loud as well.
  2. ^Agreed! CP needs to stop discriminating against fat coasters. Have you SEEN the coasters that CP recently built? They're as skinny as rails!! You've just got to wait for an announcement. Nobody knows (except the park that's recieving the coaster and B&M). The coaster could go anywhere, even CP, but its just speculation right now.
  3. ^ I don't think Vekoma has any relation to B&M or Intamin whatsoever, except for the new 4-across seating. Vekoma is more along the lines of Arrows cousin or something like that. ^^ This thread got weird a looooong time ago. Dan - Waiting for Wes or some other mod/admin to say something funny
  4. ^ The price would probably depend on whether SFOT decides to use traditional wood coaster track (American Eagle, Aska) or prefabricated track (Balder, El Toro). ... but that's only if Intamin still produces non-prefabricated woodies.
  5. I have a Bio test this Monday that I'm not prepared for. I've been studying like crazy but I can't seem to understand what the textbook says. Oh yeah... And those disappearing blocks in Mega Man.
  6. Dr. Wily Stage (Mega Man 2) NES - Capcom
  7. No Do you live within 10 minutes of your home park?
  8. ^ How do you explain Hydra, Patriot, Behemoth, and Diamondback? Its not that Kinzel hates B&M, but CP does. So could Diamondback be a ploy made between Kinzel and B&M to make CP jealous? It was explained earlier in the thread. The yellow track is not invert track.
  9. ^Rumor has it that the company that bought HRP owned a number of Hard Rock Cafes and is considering keeping the Hard Rock brand. I'll try to find the link later and post it here.
  10. Now I know why I didn't see those, I was running TPR in my non-Flash browser. Anyway, I remember somebody on Newgrounds had something similar to this, called an Interactive Buddy or something like that. It's pretty awesome. I love the hamster one.
  11. A quick search of DSiWare comes up with this article. http://ds.ign.com/articles/925/925858p1.html I don't think Nintendo will make non-DSiWare exclusive, DSi exclusive games (or at least I hope not), but they've done it in the past with the Game Boy (certain GBC games could not be played on GB or GB Pocket). If you want to keep playing your GBA/DS games that require the GBA slot, I would suggest keeping your DS/lite or getting a used GBA. I recently saw the NSMB2 soundtrack on YouTube so they'll definately make new Mario, Zelda, Pokemon games for the DSi. Not to mention there will hopefully be a remake of Gold/Silver/Crystal on DS as well.
  12. ^ I never got to experience the NES game, but this thread is really making me want to. Dan - still trying to beat some robot masters - Nguyen
  13. ^ Turtles? I don't see any turtles. Which page are you talking about?
  14. ^ What about Rides on the Moon? BTW, this not B&M's Aquatrax prototype, it's B&M's Giga Coaster Prototype. JTA is made by MACK, who calls their models Water Coasters, not Aquatrax, so JTA isn’t really an Aquatrax. Thanks for clearing that up. I always considered all Intamin launch coasters “rocket” coasters (except Volcano and Aquatrax models) OMG IT”S B&M PROTOTYPE!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19001&start=280 Prototype:lmao:
  15. The new Intamin looks awesome, but that dumb test thing kinda bugs me. Can't wait to see more.
  16. ^ Nemesis was originally intended to be an Arrow Pipeline coaster. Epcot was intended to be an actual city. Turbulance was intended to be the world's first Frequent Faller. Something happened in the middle... Nemesis became a B&M Invert. Epcot became a theme park. Turbulance was never built. Maverick was intended to be an Aquatrax, but sometimes things don't always turn out as planned. Maverick bacame an Intamain Rocket with two launches. Prototype
  17. Wow Shane, this park looks very impressive. I really love the colors of the play structure and the slides. BTW: I had no idea your family owned and operated amusement parks. That must be awesome.
  18. ^ You could call Magnum, TTD, or MF "prototype" coasters depending on your definition of prototype. Magnum is technically an oversized version of Gemini. MF is technically an oversized Intamin Hyper. TTD is technically a S:TE-sized Xcelerator. And Corkscrew is technically Knott's Corkscrew with a loop. Usually a prototype is considered to be a "world's first" although technically the world's first Intamin strata was built at SFMM. (This is debatable althiugh I don't understand why) Many people consider prototypes to be a "first of its kind in the world" type thing. For example... Magnum, MF, and TTD are the first full-circiut coasters to break various height and speed barriers so technically, they are firsts of their kind and can be considered prototypes. The same can be said for Corkscrew and even Wicked Twister (which is the only impulse coaster with two twisted spikes). Maverick is the first Intamin to feature a launched lift hill as well as a second launch (I don't know of any coasters that have two separate launches), so it could be considered a prototype. Or maybe whenever B&M came up with a prototype, CF never asked for it. You never really know. That is true, and maybe a new B&M prototype would be built at CP next year, but until they announce it, nobody will be sure of where it goes. Except the Dippin' Dots Guy. PS: Maverick is NOT an Aquatrax.
  19. I know I'm seriously gonna get flamed for this but Loch Ness Monster at BGW. When I first rode it, it was an excellent ride, fast, thrilling, very fun! Subsequent rides were a completely different story. 1. The ride has HORRIBLE pacing. Just when the ride was abut to pick up speed, it is killed by brakes which would slow the ride down to a crawl. For examlple, the first drop is incredible, but when the ride hits the trims on the second drop, the ride loses speed quickly going into the loop. Directly after the loop, the train would hit the first MCBR and slow back down again. And then after the tunnel helix, the ride would hit ANOTHER set of MCBRs and slow down a third time. Personally IMO if Busch won't run both trains in the loops there's really no point in having all those block brakes. 2. The tunnel felt long, boring, rough, and pointless. The effects probably haven't been working for years. 3. The station has no ventilation whatsoever so it feels like an oven on hot days. 4. There seems to be a decent effort at creating a story at the entrance, but once you leave the entrance, the story and theming disappear. BBW across the park is a MUCH better, more intense ride.
  20. ^ But CF normally doesn't pay B&M to build prototypes for any of their parks.
  21. ^ I thought KD was actually gonna rip the concrete waterpark out and move it up to the newer side a while ago.
  22. Heroes of Our Time - Dragonforce
  23. ^ Yes, although I prefer the sugary stuff myself. Do you live in an apartment?
  24. ^ That's one BEAUTIFUL coaster! I'd love to see more.
