  1. ^^ Just a heads up, but the track needs to be able to pass a tunnel test and I don't think yours does. I tried doing it myself to check and I couldn't get it to work, but just calling to your attention that on the second half of the ride a mountain goes through part of the catwalk.
  2. ^Uh, ok. Are we talking NL or RCT or Knex or toothpicks? Or perhaps even that pretzel competition that BGE is putting on? Be more descriptive and maybe you'll get something.
  3. ^I was thinking the exact same thing! I even drew up a little plan and was hoping to make it in NL but the footprint of the ride, and the park, is huge and spans longer than the NL screen. I don't think that they would do B&M just because of cost (don't quote me on this, I am not too familiar with coaster costs) and I really don't think they would do Intamin either. Elitches seems to love its Vekoma, and I think the new 4 abreast vekoma hyper seating would be a good option for them. It would follow the white line, starting out by FC and going toward twister. The black line also works well for the lift line.
  4. Well, my speculation is that it is just lap restraint and the reason I say that is because in this picture the women in the stripes does not appear to have restraints over the shoulders. Also, in the video that someone took at IAAPA (I think) the concept design does not have OTSR's either. Of the pov on page 9 of this thread you can also tell at times that there are no OTSR's. Photo from RCDB.
  5. ^ and ^^ I have never seen that movie, or heard of it for that matter, what is it about? ^Yes it is still standing, I will take a picture tomorrow if I remember. But notice on the park map that he posted it is completely omitted from the map (a little beneath and to the right of the sidewinder loading dock is where it stands presently). Parc Management is trying to sell the ride, but a prototype Zamperla flyer comes with a label. I am glad to hear that it (bad operations) is on that side of the park, exactly where I don't work!
  6. I would like to think that operations are a lot better, but I would submit a bias idea I think. Trains stack occasionally on Twister and Minderaser, and Half Pipe has its issues but besides that I feel like we do the best we can. There is always room for improvement though. I'd like to hear other peoples opinions as well.
  7. I was just wondering cause I worked this last weekend! I think I would have to place my bet on monday because it dumped on sunday there. It is depressing that that many rides are closed, but chaos and disaster transport should be opening up soon (DT might already be open but I am not completely sure). And I would second that the blue train at minderaser is a bear, definitely not so smooth anymore (was it ever?).
  8. What day did you visit? Do you remember? Nice TR!
  9. Is the new boardwalk thing open? With all the millions of lights? Is this even a true project? (I read it on some MSN article about new rides this summer)
  10. I think the design if pretty cool but I have to imagine the ride is a capacity nightmare. And, I think this ride might have topped HRRR for most unusually supported.
  11. My ears are still ringing. Damn that tin can can get loud.
  12. ^I am not sure about this, but I think most people use a third party program called Automatic Heartline Generator (AHG) to heartline their stuff. An entire list of tools to use for NL can be found here.
  13. My vote is for the west(ish). Elitches and Lakeside...quality parks right there! I am working on traveling everywhere but thus far in my experiences, the South is where it is at.
  14. Well, I didn't get to watch the game. I was across the street at jolly ole' Elitch Gardens manning Twister II. Disappointing loss, but this series sure seems to be quite epic. Ariza is a boss.
  15. Can you post a picture of what is inside the Pirates ride please? I think the park looks fantastic!
  16. Hmm, that is weird because I can't really think of any coaster in Orlando that is so interactive with both riders and nonriders in addition to the amount of distractions SWO has given during the line on top of things such as the "splashdown". I would have to disagree with you on that one.
  17. JR jumped in when he shouldn't have, but you can't tell me that the game was called fairly for either team. I mean, a few of Dante Jones' fouls seemed to be poor decisions and that double tech was stupid. So yes, though I agree that they did miss the JR foul but I also have to point out Lakers got a couple ridiculous calls in their favor as well. Just the beauty of the NBA. I don't want to be coming off as arrogant because my team won, but there have been blown calls everywhere during this series, for both teams, and a lot of the other series as well. That is just my two cents at least.
  18. In the bottom left corner beneath the guest total, there is a meter that has a thumbs down on the left and a thumbs up on the right. The more the yellow bar is to the right, the more successful your park is. In your case, it is fairly low and I am just curious as to why. ^^On the contrary, I really like this park and its buildings.
  19. ^Super weak! It's not like I am making it out there anytime before that time though haha. One question though, and I just cruised this topic looking for the answer and came up empty. Like Blue Fire, will this ride feature only lap bars or will it be similar to Maverick with the OTSR's. I vaguely feel like its OTSR's but I am not certain, whats up?
  20. You know this park looks truly fantastic, but apparently my ideas of awesome and the games differ quite significantly. Why is the little rate-o-meter thing in the bottom left so low? Is it just different than the US version?
  21. For each one of these three delicious cookies, there is an equally delicious NBA championship ring. That commercial and the one with James walking around chalking everything is pretty funny. I don't quite get how the will make me want to buy Nike though.
  22. ^^I second that, polishcoaster13 was definitely pretty rude. As I mentioned before, the 3D models of coasters I make with balsa wood and wire were absolutely torn apart by the people on CS. I don't want to sound soft by any means, but after you spend hundreds of hours on a project like that built from scratch and every single person on there says how it looks like sh*t, it kind of hurts a little. The only reason I went on CS so much was to download the coasters they have to offer.
