  1. This wasn't a cheap investment, so I wouldn't imagine SFGAv has had enough especially with it only have been open since 05. Perhaps if it was Intamins doing, which I guess it partly is, they would not be so tolerant but the fact that it was lightning that did her in (for now) I am sure doesn't make them want to pull the plug. That is my two cents at least.
  2. ^^^Is that how you are going to build yours though? I have looked at his steel models before and if I remember right he takes a different approach than I do. If I recall, he doesn't have the B&M box at all and utilizes a thick piece of cardboard or some other flat material as the spine and then just glues the rails on the end. I still don't really know what you are doing, but I am willing to help. ^^ haha, lets just call it a creative road block.
  3. This picture has seen before, but I did a little editting to bring out the clouds a little more while still keeping the sun shining.
  4. What are you painting? The supports and track I assume, but why paint now?
  5. I am now working on TTD and I have a question to ask. I have it all painted, built and ready to rock, it is now just decor that I have to build. The catwalks on the main tower, on each of the 8 levels, in addition to the elevator system, how necessary are they to build on my model? I don't really know how to make them look nice without making the model cluttered looking. The elevator system is made of tiny pipes, of which I don't know how to get that detailed, and then the catwalks have similarly tiny pipes as railings. Moral of the story, I do not know what to do and am favoring just omitting them from the model. I would put the catwalk on top of the tower but that would be the only one. What do you guys think?
  6. How is the model coming? You should post some progress pictures.
  7. Thanks jarmor, that is a better picture than the one I had. But again, is it even confirmed that this is B&M's project?
  8. Maybe it is just me, but I didn't think that any of the coasters were THAT bad. The togo didn't rip me apart like it seemed to have done to everyone else, and to be honest I kind of found it to be fun. Canyon blaster was running pretty good and was pretty cool flipping around that little park. Speed was awesome, nuff said. I didn't check out stratosphere though, it was too expensive for a broke college kid.
  9. Would that huge footer be used for the bottom of the lift hill? I guess I do not know how big DB's was, or if it was even one footer at all but if the lift was to go off that way I would imagine it would be used for that. Again, I have been trying to follow all this but do we even have confirmation it is B&M doing this project? I am talking about the very bottom of the hill
  10. Yup, definitely valleyfair! I am going to ask a rookie question now, but what even is the point of the holding break? It is not like it holds you there long enough to enduce terror so I don't really know what the point is, besides to ruin me!
  11. I am glad the holding break doesn't work! I just rode Steel Venom a couple weeks back and it was pretty fun, but that spike ruined me as a man. Do any other TPR members relate to that? As to the inconsistency, I didn't realize it when I rode venom, wicked twister or V2 at sfgam.
  12. The PTC: -I really enjoyed this coaster and found it to be pretty realistic. -Pretty smooth for your first coaster. -Had some nice airtime and fun helixes. To improve this coaster I would ride it in the back, that allows you to see pumps better and you can see more forces. This applies to both coasters, try to make the brakes, transfers and stations on a downhill slope that way you don't have to dispatch with friction wheels. The GCI: -Had some nice airtime, inversion esque elements and overbanked turns. -Carried its speed well for the most part. To improve this coaster: -You almost had this coaster running loops, which I don't think is good. I know that GCI goes with high banked turns but you took that a little far. -Watch the forces. This one had high lats and high vertical G's, made for a semi awkward coaster. Along with lots of pumps and bumps. -The brakes. You don't slow it down at all on the brakes and the train cruises into the transfer wheels (which of course I do not like anyways). Keep up the good work though, for your first 2 coasters you did a fantastic job!
  13. RCDB and the official website say "under construction" and "coming this summer", respectively. Can we even confirm it has opened to the public? ^^The launch in the video seems a little slower than 2.5 seconds. Am I wrong? It looks like it starts at 3:21 and ends around 3:25. ^I would agree in a sense. It is just a typical mouse coaster tipped vertically, not necessarily a new coaster by any means.
  14. Today while working a ride that had seat belts I had some guy walk up to me, tell me my equipment is broken and that we (as a park) should be more concerned with guest safety. I walked over to the belt, unbuckled and buckled it a couple times to confirm if this was true. Turns out he couldn't figure out how to undo the buckle, wiggled his way out and thought it was broke because he couldn't figure out how to get out. The belt is identical to those found on airplanes haha.
  15. I don't know if I can necessarily compare the dive machines floorlessness to the floorlessness of a labeled floorless coaster. I don't know if much can beat sitting out on Griffons 1st or 10th seat in the front row hanging on the first drop, but for some reason I fell in love with Kraken when I rode it. Albeit I have only ridden Griffon, Sheikra, Kraken and Scream!.
  16. What? If this is a TR, you should include some more info about the experience like what you liked, didn't like, what you did and didn't do etc. If this is not a TR, then the thread title says it best...OK?. I didn't know SFOT opened 10 new rides 3 years ago though, so I guess I did take something away from this.
  17. I understand, just thought I would voice my opinion. Just kind of think two more entries would make the contest a little more interesting.
  18. ^I don't have a problem with it, look at speed: the ride in vegas, it did exactly what yours did and that is a pretty fun little coaster. Eric smith- one thing I don't get is why you are "busy" and cannot attend to your contest but penalize someone else (dbru) who is probably equally busy making a coaster for your contest. The way I see it, he should be in because you never said contest was finished until after he posted.
  19. When did NLDC stop registering people because every time I have tried to register for it, it says it is temporarily closed due to high levels of spamming or something like that.
  20. Is there an intamin in that skyline as well?
  21. ^Arrow made the first 4D coaster with X but then that same coaster put them under when SF sued them. Arrows assets were then bought by S&S in Utah to create S&S Arrow. Intamin also makes the 4D but it is not like the kind in RCT.
