What Do You Think Of Morgan
themeparkman25 replied to coasterfreaksrttd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I have been on only two Morgans in Mamba and Wild Thing and though they did have pretty basic and roomy restraints, they didn't offer extreme ejector air (ya, even Wild Thing wasn't that intense) and a thing that bothered me is you have to be over like 5'10" to see out of the train. -

^It shouldn't be, it is only 7 pages of park versus the hundreds for other parks. There really hasn't been a ton official, at least to my knowledge. A press article can be found on the first page, concept art for the complex can be found on the third and a pretty good update on page 4. There are also gradual updates in the other proceeding pages. -

So what determines when foundations get poured and supports put in? It seems backwards to me that they are putting some supports up yet there are still foundations yet to be poured? It isn't really relevant to this ride, but I have always wondered how it all works. -

^I am not trying to argue with anyone, but i305 does have a couple really nice looking airtime hills as well. I guess the difference is that the F1 coaster will be taking hills at approx 150 mph where i305 is only taking them at 95. Like you said though, both should be equally awesome coasters, it is just kind of shocking that they aren't toodifferent yet people love this and hate the other. -

So this coaster has the same feeling that i305 will have in the sense of lots of speed, not significant amounts of air and ground hugging turns but people like this one and not i305? If anything, i305 has a drop and this just has a launch. Haha, sometimes I just don't get it. -

NO2 [Nl Coaster]
themeparkman25 replied to jpdupuis's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Positives: -It was pretty smooth. It wasn't the smoothest thing in the world but it still was fairly pump free. Good job. -Uniqueness. This was also a negative in that you pushed the boundary between hyper and looper. I mean it was fun, but most definitely not realistic in the slightest. Negatives: -Supports. Sections of track were both way over supported (the brake run) and way under supported (the lift hill). -The brake run ran a bit long. It just kept going and going and it was un needed. Overall this wasn't a bad coaster, just watch the style of coaster you are building to and then stick to it. Keep up the good work though. -
You have to consider competition in those markets though, it is definitely more competitive in both of those states. I think another huge issue, and this is from personal experience, is the high cost of getting to the park for people outside the state. It was like 450 from Denver to Myrtle Beach, not cheap!

^They go on and build their coaster anyway. Who are a few hundred coaster dorks compared to a few thousand general public guys? -

^I know that it has been done on the DM's, but wouldn't it be cool to have 6 abreast on a hyper? I think too you could have a cross between the two generations of hyper train, with a subtle "\/" shape. Oblivion and Diving Machine, the first two DM's are 8 abreast. SheiKra is the only new DM that features less than 10. -

I was up at Keystone Resort yesterday and I was thinking about the ski industry and how chairlifts have progressed from two seaters to four across and now the new lifts are often six people across and it occurred to me, could we ever see a B&M with 6 across? Forces are exemplified on the out seats on the current trains so I don't know if adding one to each side would work (this is speaking about a typical invert or sit down looper) due to the intensified forces. But I could see it happening on a hyper coaster with the old body style of seating. What do you think, do you think any park would ever been interested in increasing through put that much? -
^I thought the dive coaster at chimelong had an immelmann that went all the way to the ground as well as a complete helix at the end. They are very similar, but this one is most definitely almost a sheikra clone. You can see in Happy Valley model, the track after the immelman runs above the final brake run. Which is pretty much identical to that found on SheiKra. The model im chimelong most definitely has track going all the way to the ground, unlike that of the aforementioned dive machines.

^He was just giving you the advise that you asked for, but he was right in the fact that there were a ton of pre fab supports. The only ones you didn't pre fab were the ones where you absolutely had to make your own. And yes it is true that a lot of B&M supports look like the pre fab ones but there are a lot that are unique. ie the ones in the helixes. So my advise to you is that you take the advise for how much you want to take of it. Besides that the coaster was fun in that it was unique and uncharacteristic of B&M but it also kind of lacked a lot of very fun elements, at least IMO. As well, the track was fairly pumpy and could use some work to smooth out. You did do a nice job though with plenty of airtime hills and a sweet drop. Keep up the work, you did well. -

I am still in awe at this thread. There is no pleasing you! Like Goliath said, the coolest thing to hit denver ever is a boomerang and an slc! I love Millie and I love Maverick and I have no issue what so ever with the restraints. I love speed so I have no issue with it being a flatter layout. I love airtime and have no problem with there only being six airtime moments. After seeing comments like the ones about saying "this ride is going to be terrible" it just makes me wonder how spoiled can you get? 25 million dollars on an intamin giga coaster and there isn't a single person on this site excited for it. Give me a break. -

You know what guys, when your are doing something you love and you are good at it, then why not keep doing it? Sure he keeps saying he is retired, but a ton of athletes do that and that doesnt change your mind about them does it? Michael Jordan for example. I'm not like a die hard Brett fan, but cut the guy some slack. As long as he is having fun with what he is doing then what does it really matter? -

Can't wait for this to open!!! It is going to be awesome!!! So much speed, sweet transitions and hopefully some killer airtime. I think this should be one of my favorite coasters. Why does kingsdominion.com not have this new coaster plastered all over the home page? Or even anywhere for that matter? -

But the funny thing about that BS is, it works! Perhaps not on the enthusiast population but for the general public and the media, nothing sounds better than saying what you have is bigger and badder than the rest. It may sound stupid to us, but for everyone else it is pure profit. -

That is an epic photo of HRRR. I don't really understand what the deal is and peoples beef with new coasters. I mean every single person on this site wants a mega lite in the states, well KD is getting a giga mega lite, should be awesome. And CW should have a great one too, I am liking the look of the support angles.
