How does it get stuck? Do you mean it won't launch or something? -

^Would it be that much? The newer accelerators all use the LSM technology (I think), ie iSpeed, and if you figure a launch every 45 seconds on the coasters and every 3 on the towers, I don't know if it would be that unreasonable. -

^But then in that case couldn't you argue that that is going to something unproven on the market? Yes Snoopy may be dated, but it has proven to work successfully ala Cedar Point no? Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny aren't the newest cartoons to hit the tube in awhile either but they're still around. I'm not trying to argue with either of you, I promise, just stating that CF is a big company with a lot of smart people (cue debating) making the choice in the best interest for the company. -

^I'm not trying to defend them or insult you or anything, but Cedar Fair is a billion dollar company in annual revenue (actually its more like 950 million, but whatever) and I beat that they did their fair share of research before pulling the plug on Nick. Perhaps licensing was too much, perhaps kids don't really notice, perhaps there is more potential with Snoopy. Either way, the costs clearly outweighs the benefits of keeping Nick, so they are getting rid of it. It is that simple, and I know for a fact Cedar Fair did their research. -

Well, the it had its GCI moments but it also had its very non-GCI moments as well, more specifically the drop. What I liked: -Prowleresque- and I love Prowler. Nuff said. -Fast, ground hugging layout. -I like the story behind the ride, it was creative. What I did not like: -You had a very uncharacteristic drop (for a GCI) right into the smallest of turns you can possible have. OUCH! -It lost its pacing after awhile, the chains to brake run are lame. -Intensity Rating. I know the excitement rating is high, but this is too. By all means it wasn't bad, but it definitely could use a little GCI touch. Sorry the pictures are small. They are a .bmp file and I don't know how to change that so they can be bigger. ^Thats a lot to know. FeeltheForce-To my understanding, and I could be wrong, I do not know of any new drop towers being built. I was thinkin' though, and posted this in the random thread, but what if they replaced the cables that are all too finicky, and replaced them with LSM's? How awesome would that be? -

^But you get wicked airtime in the back! The car pulls you off your seat and you float for so long. -
Alright, I here is a curve ball for this thread, but since it came from a movie I feel like it belongs here. I was watching the Sheikra video that Busch sells and I watched all the clips and then I got to the multi angle off ride shots and I came across an interesting image. In the video you clearly see the train stop on the holding brakes, and then get released and on the way down the camera obviously has to film part of the lift, and on the lift there is a train going up! Why is this? I know there are brakes on top that would count as a block, or I think they would at least, but why would they dispatch a train just to have to stop it on top? (being a ride operator too, though I have never worked a beemer, I feel like that would fault the ride with a dispatch cycle that narrow. So, anyone want to explain what is going on in the screen shot of the video? I am not making this up either, I would post the video but I am sure it is illegal.

The "Say Something Random" Thread
themeparkman25 replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
So how about they take the LSM's off of Maverick and slap them on a Drop Tower? I mean how sick would that be, it would be able to compete more with the ever popular S&S towers and still be a true drop tower. I don't know how effective the LSM's would be on launching vertically but if they ran 3/4 of the way up the tower, you would get launched up and get some extreme airtime on top and then still stop with the normal magnetic pull. This thread to me is titled "Say your random ride ideas". I think there is actually a thread like that out there on this site, or one like it at least. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
themeparkman25 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would hope they don't paint a big wood coaster white, I don't know why I have such issues with it but it just seems to chip and look bad literally the second the paint brush is lifted. And then as well, I don't know how I feel about themeing or making significant reference to alcohol when it is a more kid themed coaster. Not saying GCI's are lame, cause they're not, but think about the height limits...and termy! Either way a new coaster would be sweet and I am definitely not opposed, though I wouldn't be depressed if nothing happened this year. -

^You and everybody else. This coaster is going to be epic and will without doubt be a great coaster (I say that as well for KD)! Something about the sweet curves on this coaster though are awesome. The updated hammerhead looks so steezy and that second hill drop looks like renegades first drop in the off ride video. Should definitely be a good coaster, just seems a little short on airtime hills. I live in Colorado and even I am debating a cedar fair pass to check out all these awesome coasters!! -
What Do You Think Of Morgan
themeparkman25 replied to coasterfreaksrttd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I mean Mamba isn't bad by any means, it did have some nice air on the first drop thing that Morgan does and also on the second hill. After the MCBR it had some air on the bunny hills in the front as well. Honestly I found it to be more exciting than Wild Thing. WT had that one hill of sustained airtime which was rad, but after that it was pretty boring. -
Park looks good, I enjoyed that update. I especially liked the spiral stairs on the giant inverted boomerang. Anyways... 1. This tutorial worked well for me. It was simple yet effective. Check it out! 2. I have never seen anything like that, but maybe saving, closing the game and restarting the computer will help? Beats me. 3. I got nothin', sorry
