Vekoma Roller Coasters
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess replied to kingdakacor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't say I'm a fan of Vekoma but seeing their newer designs has made me change my opinion (although I have yet to ride one with the new trains). If anything, it's a step in the right direction for them and hopefully it does improve their reputation. About the Tilt Coaster, it may look really cool but I can imagine it being a mechanical nightmare (like Deja Vu). Perhaps that is why only one has ever been built? I don't think Six Flags would want to deal with anything like that again after all the problems they had with all the Deja Vu coasters. -
I don't really think they're necessary on standard sit down loopers, but in the modern world of lawyers and insurance premiums, it's a way to keep them satisfied. Although on Intimidator 305, I think they're abit overkill as the ride doesn't even have any inversions. Although one thing I should mention, Dive Machine coasters. I don't think there is any alternative for OTSRs on those rides that I can think of. Because of the way the train is held 90 degrees, gravity would cause you to fold in half basically (meaning your head will be on your knees). Try this, stand against a wall and bend over 90 degrees. Do you fall over?

Silverwood - PHOTO TR!
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess replied to rcg19's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice to see a TR of Silverwood. Those buildings are incredibly cute indeed. That's one thing I like about smaller parks that actually spend quite a bit of time on their decor. I've been wanting to go to Silverwood ever since I picked up a brochure for it from a hotel. Never knew how beautiful it actually was. -
http://www.beyondrobson.com/news_flash/2010/08/nightmare_scenario_playland_visitors_stuck_on_rides_due_to_power_outage/ Must have been scary for a lot of people getting stuck on the rides, although they got to get the evac credit. No injuries were reported (unless you count mental trauma!) and all guests were given refunds. The park re-opened today and everything seems to be running normally.

Olympic sailing even though it only gets broadcasted every 4 years. Yes, that means watching boats go around a course. Sorta like Nascar on the water. From the list, it would be hockey for me although I also enjoyed watching the FIFA World Cup.
