Great report from Cuba. The country really does look like it is lost in 1950. -
Idiot Ride Ops.
monsterfan99 replied to kidcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was really confused by this policy. The jackets and cameras were one thing, but we saw backpacks and beach bags on all the coaster when we were there this year. The even more bizarre part was you could leave prizes won on the games at the stations. Tonight at SF Great America, I was also dumbfounded by the ride op in the back side. There was no line but the main operator said "there are no re-rides." So what does the other operator do? Tells the kids to sneak into a seat. Simply amazing. -
No, but has worn out it's 2nd welcome with stale shows Do you have any theme park related items on your wall such as posters?
-
No as I don't wear hoodies (I think I may be the only person under 30 who hates them) and just forget to order a shirt Do you own a slinky?

But they have a captive audience. They could charge 150 for a season pass and people will go. Why? Because there is no competition. Look at the closest places for each side of the park Theme park (excluding the closing Kiddieland) 2 hours, 45 min - Wisconsin Dells 3 hours - Indiana Beach 4 hours - Michigan Adventure 6-7 hours - Tie between Cedar Point, Kings Island, SF STL, Holiday World and ValleyFair! Water parks are just as bad considering most require a nights stay at their hotel. PR wise they would be fine. If they can survive their owns going bankrupt, loosing Deja Vu and general price increases through the roof; they will be ok.

What have you been hit in the head with?

An 8 burger original George Foreman grill from 13 feet up. It was at the top of my closet at college (they were illegal on campus) and I was sitting on the floor cleaning. A neighbor slammed their door and it him on dead center on the top of my head. The impact cracked the grill and broke it, but nothing to me. After ice for 10 minutes only a tiny bump was left. -
^ It may be free, but the thing is a cash cow. You have to pay to rent tubes, pay to rent lock ers and with the place hitting capacity, basically require you eat there. What I don't get is why they just don't make it a separate gate. This is their chance, if they put in a new gate, to do just that. With the lack of water parks and theme/amusement parks within 2 hours of the place (minus Key Lime Cove) they could make a killing.

Coaster Count Spreadsheet Design
monsterfan99 replied to nannerdw's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I use spread sheets to but kind of split the one you do into 2 different ones. The first is my Coaster Count one. Has all the info on the coasters you would find on RCDB along with when I first rode, types of rides (I like to try out all coasters in front, back, day and night) and what merchandise I have bought (I collect pins, postcards and pressed pennies.) There is also a list of the order of my coaster count and my rankings. The second one I have is my ride count of each ride (coaster or not) at each park for the year. Some will roll their eyes that I take this much time to do this, but I personally enjoy using spreadsheets for list of this nature. -

At this point, I think the memory of any average coaster would just over Mean Streak in rankings. -

^ I just saw that as well on google news from a website. They were reporting that New Zealand police are reporting he died in a fall on the set of his latest film. The site when down while I was reading the store, so it may be just a rumor for now. -

There is a resort that also has Dole Whips at WDW (Poly) but other that it is only at the Magic Kingdom. I'm told that the orange flavor one is really good as well. -
The "Post your favorite Simpson Quotes" Game

Announcer #1: And here come the pretzels! Announcer #2: Hall of Famer Whitey Ford now on the field pleading with the crowd for... for some kind of sanity. Announcer #1: Uh-oh, and a barrage of pretzels now knocking Whitey unconscious. Announcer #2: Wow. This is uh... This is a black day for baseball. Later in the same episode Bart: Cheer up, Mom. You can't buy publicity like that. Thousands and thousands of people saw your pretzels injuring Whitey Ford! Homer: You could call them Whitey-Whackers. -- Buy one and get a chance to knock Whitey yourself!, My other favorite is this one Homer: Hey! Frank Grimes never married, how did he get a son? Frank Grimes Jr.: He just happened to like hookers, okay? -

Could do the smart thing and sells peices of the ride. Disney does it all the time and regularly gets big bucks for even the smallest thing. So there it not only is saved from the landfill, but turns into a display item. Which is doing more good then it is still standing. -

Could do a pudding splash down. Add in the red supports (think Jell-o) and we got ourselves Bill Cosby: The Ride. -
We went to the first one this year. It wasn't bad but not good either. The problem was more of how they checked the cards. Kids would just try to run past the emploee and then the line would be held up when they were explained to about needing a season pass. The other problem was they let groups there that day, so that added a bunch of people. We left after the first hour, but we got on Iron Wolf (walk on), Spacely Sprocket Rocket (1 train wait) and Batman (20-30 minute wait), King Chaos (walk on) and Dark Knight (walk on.) Ragin Cajun's line was about 50-60 minutes still. The lines were getting shorter as the people in line from right before close were getting their rides. So I would imgaine the lines would not be bad in hour 2.

Count me as in if you don't have to pre-register (I don't use twitter, this don't know the e-mail address to reply.) My only idea is if they use something like the fire hose off a crane to shoot water over the people. -
My fiance sings Monster Mash or Purple People Eater on any spinney type ride. You know, after she started doing it, she is ok. Before, it was mean a 20-30 minute break afterwords. So it can work for some people.

^ Yes but not much else to do around here for under 30 bucks. Have you been to a petting zoo?

Sorry to hear it happened, but the park did a great job handling it. I love that they explained everything in detail, not just a bunch of BS. -
No, have not worn jeans in 7 years Do you have any vintage posters hanging on your walls?
