Up Saw the movie in 3D today. Is my new favorite Pixar movie, if only for Carl alone. Plus the movie used 1930's style news trailer music, which wins. For parents, the movie is a sad movie. I was not alone is getting teary eyed 3 times during the movie. 10/10 and hope Disney makes Carl a character at the Disney parks (which, sadly, does not look to be the case.)

With tomorrow being Sunny, looks like I might the trek out there. Hopefully the Polup is running.

Just got back from seeing Up in 3d and it was amazing. Carl is now my favorite Disney or Pixar character of all time. Also found copies of the first issue of D23 at a Disney Store, so year to only paying retail for them.

Red Bull Cola banned for containing cocaine!
monsterfan99 replied to Hattuchili's topic in Random, Random, Random
The cola is beyond awful. I remember going to Red Bull Flutog in Chicago last year. It was the only drink on grounds cheaper then 3 bucks (cost $1.50) so I got one. I to a grand total of 2 sips and into the trash it went. I was not even close to the only person to do the same. -

Amazing to see the Dark Knight that full, most days this year it has been walk on. Also insane to see the American Eagle line that long as well. You know if they were running more then 1 train on the red side? -

I would love to see the ride to go Bay Beach in Green Bay, WI. The place looks outstanding from the pictures I've seen and they just added a classic ride there this year. Basically following the same path as the Little Dipper that was at Hillcrest Park and moved to Wisconsin.

Better Theming or More Track
monsterfan99 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would pick "more theming" over 'more track" but only slightly. What park I am at effects the choice. I expect theming at a Disney or Universal park. However, at Six Flags or Cedar Fair parks, I want thrills. It also depends on the ride. I'll use 2 Kings island coasters for example. A ride like diamondback is amazing without theme and not sure any theme would help. On the same token, Backlot Stunt Coaster would be just ok without theme but helps a great deal with it. The biggest problem is when the theme or story is not explained to people. I love the theming of Southwest Territory at SF Great America, it is just not explained to people. -

And I really wish that Cedar Fair would offer this. It pains me every time we take a TPR tour to a Cedar Fair park that we have to either spend an unnecessary amount of extra time at each park or have to tell our group to prepare to do less at each park because there is no quicker way to get through the queues. We easily get TWICE as much done at parks that offer a "Flash Pass" type option than ones that don't. --Robb Dear god I would have loved to see them at Kings Island during Ride Warriors Weekend. Even after 3 days, there were still rides left undone. I would have gladly given them 100 for 2 of them. -

^ I am really trying not to complain about the prices. I am sorry if it seems that way. Disney gets away with it because they are Disney. -

^ i was not complaing about the Flash passes at all. I am for them as well. With the parking I was stating that it is higher then other SF parks and amusement parks in general. This could lead to the parking being more profitable with lower attendance. -

^^ Or they could make parking closer to the 10-20 range or 15 for both lots. Or lower the price of season pass parking to lower then the cost of a season pass ticket. And I would love to find a Shoney's somewhere around here. -

While I agree to disagree with you on the lockers, that picture is my new background. -

Parking price is a big thing. Season pass parking is $70 for one person with no option to add to a 2nd person for a discount (that option does exists at SF STL,) front lot parking is 25 and back lot is 15. The prices are awful comnpared to other SF parks and theme parks in general. The even worse part is the fact that the season pass parking has already went up $5 since last October and talk is the regular lots might as well. You can take the bus from the giant mall, but is more of a pain. Outside of that, there is ZERO outside parking. Every place with in miles tows after X amount of time. So no real way to get by it. The Flash Pass also sells out fast. Even today, when it was basically school kids, people were still buying the gold ones. Right now, they run something like $96 for 2 people on the gold. The raise the prices depending on demand, so I've seen 2 person flash passes during Fright fest at around 112 for 2 people sell out in an hour. -

I wanted to tackle one thing Robb said. About the leaving the stuff in the car, what do school kids on a trip or kids dropped off by their parents do? I saw that problem a lot today and I was only there 3 hours. The park wants to make $$$ of games, then charge you for winning an item. This holds even more true with the giant items you win. I saw a kid tonight win a giant bouncy ball and then is told "sorry, you can not ride with this." So the kids gives Six Flags money for a crappy prize, then they give him the giant middle finger. The lockers lead to delays when people have to be explained what they are at the entrance. They get pissed and just stand there arguing. Or in the case of the Demon, they just block the entrance period with the locker location. This year, I have seen no problems with stuff being left at the station at Kings Island, ValleyFair, Nick Universe or Adventureland (with their awesome policy of it must go on the ride with you and it is your problem if it gets lost.) Yet at SF Great America and SF STL, there have been many delays due to the lockers. My problem is not so much the fact the require lockers, it is the way they do it. If you are going to require a locker on lets say Raging Bull, why can I go on King Chaos or Whizzer with my stuff in a tub. That alone takes away the argument of "your items are not safe in the station" or the "your items make the station dangerous" idea. I've had the same problem with re-rides and enforcing the smoking policy. Just stay consistent. On a positive, they have added pirate music around Buccaneer's Battle and it rules. -

Locker theft is a problem there. More then once I've seen people trying to or actually stealing from lockers during Fright Fest alone. I can only imagine how bad it is during the summer with the water park and such. -
Just wanted to point out they are now only letting you ride it 5 times on Hellcat with a wrist band. This is from people I've talked to that have been there have been limited to that this last weekend.
