^I'll post the links later tonight that they gave us for the pictures. The event bombed. They had maybe 100-110 people there WITH all the life guards participating as well. They needed over 200 plus. The water was ice cold with no presure. They also booted us out at 9:30 am to go stand in line to get in. I figured they would let us use the Hurricane Harbor exit to get in the park, but no dice. Problem was, the park gave out zero info on it. Even asking last night in guest relations, the person there had no info. He was stunned they did not have the time listed and after first told me "we are not open then" when i said 8 am. It sucks, because the Pert people did an outstanding job with free stuff. Everyone got at least a shirt, towel, full bottle of shampoo, a small backpack style bag, coupon for any pert shampoo for free and a free ticket for the day. I ended up with 4 bottles of shampoo, 2 towels, 2 shirts, a bag, 2 coupons and a free ticket. Plus everyone got free premium parking. It just seems like they told everyone but the public. A radio station had a van there, all the local news stations were there filming. Pert even had their own staff there. Even Pert was doing a ton of twitter updates in the days leading up the event. It just seems like SF Great America's PR staff just dropped the ball in informing the locals. Which sucks because it was an odd, but fun event.

Buying Verbatim DVD's in bulk is the way to go DVD's wise. I know that is what brand the TPR DVD's have been that I have gotten and it is what I use. Less bad discs and cheap in bulk, especially the 1000 pack from Newegg.

Photo TR: The Nathan/Jo/Dan/Cam SFGAm Jam

I'm in the same boat. I like it without the holding break. Perhaps it's my 215 pounds slamming against the OTSR that makes me a bit skittish. Count me in the group that does not like the holding break. I love the ride without it. I felt the same way about Steel Venom. Fun TR and looks like everyone had a blast. -
humm, CAD is tonight? I might have to go to the park after all tonight. Crowds were starting to get thick when I left the park at 9:30 am this morning after the world record attempt. I know Batman, V2, Ragin Cajun and Viper still had long lines on the last CAD. However, some of the flats were kept open and they were walk-on. So if you like flats, this is a great time to go.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
monsterfan99 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Going to a park by yourself, you hear some intresting things. Most of the time, it is just small facts, nothing big. But tonight I got these 2 gems from Demon line at SF Great America. The first was in line outside the station on the cut backs. A kid, who was right at the 48 or so height requirement was talking about how excited he was to go upside down for the first time. Then his mom, looking directly at the ride as it passes through a loop says "This ride does not go upside. If it did, people would fall out and die." I simply stood there stunned. The second was an employee. Someone asked why the black train was not on the track. Simple enough question. To which she says "It was going 30 MPH to fast and was dangerous." Which made me break out laughing as I had rode it in the last week or so. It is amazing to think what other gems one misses in line for a ride. Got to love the GP. -

Wanted to update with some info. Parking opens at 7:30 AM You must be in line by 8:30 AM to participate This info is what I was given by Guest Services tonight. -
My dad was the same way. Even as a kid his family would travel the 3-4 hours to St. Louis to see his favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals. He listen to even game on the radio and then watched all the games on TV. He has never watched another game since the strike. The day they went on strike he got ride of everything he had.

Six Flags Funatics Thread 2009

Your not the only one. My fiancee, her entire family (4 people) and myself have not gotten a single season pass holder e-mail. But my friend, who lives 4 hours away with a SP for SF Great America, got one about the Food Network event a while back. However, I do get 5 sets of funantics e-mails every time they send one out. Weird, as I never signed up for the service. -

If only SF Great America had the rewards. They would owe me sponsorship of Viper. -
