  1. I noticed how slow they were with the wristband system on the woodies. Each cycle was around 5-6 minutes. A good minute of that was the scanning of the wristbands even after the train got into the station. This would not have been a problem if the person scanning was also in charge of checking the seat belts. It didn't seem to be too much of a problem on the rest of the rides. PS I think I saw you yesterday Alex. I was in front of you in line at Lost Coaster with a beard and Beast shirt.
  2. ^ I agree with you on GAR. It needs to go or get a SF STL style re-theme. Right now it looks sad with nothing in the center and an empty lane to look at. The park (well every park) needs a car ride, but it's current form is a joke.
  3. Yes, not many choices in small towns. Do you want MMA fighting?
  4. ^ Superman is not coming out any time soon unless the ride just collapses randomly. The ride is popular, in good shape, relatively new and a great eye catcher for people entering the park. The water park needs an expansion. There were days in July when compacity was reached within a few hours of opening. Add to that the need for a front gate to the water park. There is no reason to make people walk through the entire theme park when all they want to do is the water park. But if they do, there is still the back entrance.
  5. 1. I love roller coaster photography as I have taken over 7,500 pictures at theme parks in less then a year. 2. Got stuck on Raptor for 30 minute at 12:30 am this spring at CosterMania...Then had to walk down from the MCBR 3. Rode Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit on the 1 first full day of soft-openings. 4. I think RC Cola is miles ahead of both Coke and Pepsi 5. I lived in Central Illinois for the first 23 years of my life, but had never been to Chicago before last year.
  6. I don't see Demon going anywhere. Arrows tend to be very reliable, plus they have refurbed all the trains in the last year.
  7. Indiana Beach on September 5th. Followed by SF Great America Sunday and Monday.
  8. ^ 5'8 and 240 here and it was the worst experience I have ever had at a theme park. I caused a nice stacking due to being stuck in the back seat. Oh, and it was painful the entire ride. What is sad is it was my favorite water ride before riding it with the lap bar. Oh well, makes seance as to why they did it.
  9. Thank you for this post. My fiancee is a special education teacher that deals with kids that tend to be of the level of ADHD and the such. Those kids do want to be treated the same and feel awful when it is pointed out they have a disability. My question is if your kid has ADHD and you know they can not wait in line, why take them to a theme park with large lines? It seems like the people should know what their child can handle and planning to it. In the US, it would seem like the parent should take the child to a park with a Flash Pass system. This policy will lead to people abusing it. You may think "who would do that?" Just look at the people that rent wheel chairs at parks to use a medical pass for a party of 14.
  10. ^ Yay to Tom Petty. It sounds like the bonus tracks are miles ahead of the regular ones.
  11. I went to the show at WDW for the first time last month and the amount of people leaving early was simply stunning. I can't say I blame them with the feeling of being cattle leaving a full show. The first show is even worse with people trying to leave to get back into the park for that one last ride. Robb, you are not missing out on on much by missing the WDW version. When we were there (August 4th and then August 18th) the crowds were insane to just get in. People were lining up for the first show up to 3 hours early. The second show had lines form before the first show even started. Just not worth it plus IllumiiNations is better.
  12. Amazing price for what they are offering. I hope everyone that gets a chance can attend, I would love to see the event a huge success.
  13. 6/10 I know nothing about European Parks.
  14. Not yet. The person DVRing for me has the Swine Flu, so another week until I can see it.
  15. I heard about that and screw those people so much. Six Flags gave them (my fiancee and I were there as well) a free meal. There was enough food for everyone to go through the line twice. There was bottled soda (poured into cups) with waiters there as well. Most people were happy with the event and said great things about the park. Then some dumbasses have to ruin it for the entire park. Too bad they did not have the time to go to all the tables, not just the loud morons. It is fun to know the event was for Raging Bull. I did not know that from the event, but it makes seance.
  16. Magic Kingdom Epcot Disney's Hollywood Studios Disney's Animal Kingdom Universal Studios Orlando Islands of Adventure Six Flags Over Georgia Six Flags Great America Old Town Beech Bend Park Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Six Flags St. Louis The 3 Family Fun Centers of the Chicago land area ValleyFair! Adventureland Como Town Nick Universe Cedar Point Kings Island Still have Kiddieland, Michigan Adventure and Indiana Beach to go.
  17. My main one now is people who see you are taking a picture and walk in front of it anyway. This was beyond bad at Universal FL and SFOG recently. I would wait until the path was almost clear to take a picture and then some "badass" teen would purposelessly ruin the shot. At Disney World, the problem wasn't people waiting, it was what people wanted others to wait for. People do not get that you can not block an entire walkway in Fantasyland at any point for a picture. Even better when the person gets pissed that a few hundred people did not stop. I make every effort to stop (because I know the pain of trying to get a clear shot) but there is a limit.
  18. Originally it was just for ACE members. But they eventually opened it to coaster enthusiast in general then season passholders. The food was good at the event and that comes from a picky eater. Even got to meet Marc Summers, who was a very nice person.
  19. At Walt Disney World a week ago, it was near close at the Magic Kingdom on a night the extended hours. We hit the Haunted Mansion and walked to the que. We were given one of the red ticket deals for checking the line que time. Once in the stretch room, we asked who to give it to. The ride op proceeded to tell us "give it to the person who lowers your lap bar" and gave us a evil smile. After that gem, he then proceeded to pace the room faster and faster. Once the lights we out, he stood by a British woman in her 50's and once the lights came on he just said "helllloo" by her, creating a loud scream. Just made our night better.
  20. ^ There is an article somewhere on here that talks about Annual Passholders knowing about how to get "extra" tracks. Something says there will be instructions for passholders and a track list for them. They would not go through this much work for nothing.
  21. There are ways to get around licensing fees with the hidden tracks. Not only are none of the tracks advertised to the public but also they can not be sold on the DVD.
  22. 1. Visit France and Japan 2. Visit all the Disney parks 3. Skydive 4. Create something that gets people into this hobby. 5. Get a doctorate
  23. I agree, it gives the ride that Nascar feel like your strapped into a race car. This will also allow them to really play the theme of the ride to the GP. Hopefully this will only heighten the experience that this ride is going to offer. I reserve all real criticism of this ride though until I can ride it, but I have a feeling this is going to be a great ride. They know their audience with this one. It really does look like a 6 point harness system found in racing. Add to that using Dale Earnhardt, who is God to NASCAR people who watched before 2000 to this day, this ride will draw. It would draw even it wasn't a Giga, that is just a bonus. And I finally saw the POV and I am now excited to see this ride built. I really did not like M Force at all and was expecting more of the same here. I like the fact they went to near the ground turns that have a NASCAR feel to them. It fits the ride and the theme very well.
