  1. Great TR, JZ! Indiana Beach is one of the US parks that I wanna visit someday. Nice to read your adjective (CRAZY) for Steel Hawg's outside curve. That really scared me when it was being built, but now it looks cool! Thanks for the pictures!
  2. 13/20 - I think that was fair, since I'm not American... lol But I admit: I did a lot of guessworks regarding the old parks.
  3. When I read it on Friday, I thought it could be something from Cypress Gardens too. But I took a look at the ride list that shows what is still being sold and there isn't too much left; only the coasters (if they could call them "radical"): http://italintl.com/Cypress-Gardens-Amusement-Rides.php The park president said he couldn't release the details of this ride yet, but this will represent the same success as the recent additions. So, I can only think about the 100mph Dragsters. I heard that some park representants are in Orlando right now, so we may find out which ride is that very soon.
  4. lol... Don't worry! The parks are at least five hours away (by plane) from Amazônia, where the giant bugs are. ;D OMG, it's so good to know that TPR wants to come to Brazil! Can't wait for that!
  5. Yeah, that 1st gen. freefall is the former "The Edge" at California's Great America. Just a side note here: Beto Carrero World reports that attendance at the theme park is up 57% compared to the same period the year before. This reflects the sucess of FireWhip here in Brazil... This is the first inverted coaster in the country. Great investment!
  6. Dude, that'll be awesome! Can't wait to see "Hoodie The Sequel" on May 1!!!
  7. There was an early rumor here in Brazil claiming that Six Flags America's Two-Face was sold to a Brazilian theme park. We contacted SFA and they confirmed this information, but denied to tell which park did it. I decided to post it here in The Rumor Super Thread, because it's better to wait for the park release about this purchasing before creating a new topic. Two-Face will be the second inverted coaster in Brazil! And in less than two years!
  8. Happy Birthday KidTums!!! Many parks and kiddie coasters for you! ;D
  9. I'm not sure, but I think Playcenter already had a ride like this (at least, it was very similar), but it was before Flight Commander left KI. I don't know from where Playcenter one came, and I also don't know where it is nowadays, since the park doesn't have this ride anymore. As you may know, Brazil has continental dimensions, so the parks are very far from each other. If you take the road after leaving Playcenter, you can find Hopi Hari Theme Park and Wet'n Wild Brazil in about 45 minutes. The other Brazilian parks are located at other states, so you'll need to go by plane. I can help you with any doubt if you want to come here. Just send me an email: marcio@cbmr.com.br Yeah, our Boomerang runs pretty smooth, if I can use Boomerang and smooth in the same sentence. lol But the park staff really does a great maintenance job and keep it in great conditions. The coaster was repainted last year and received a new color scheme: Boomerang - Playcenter
  10. ^^ It was made by the park itself. Only the boats and motors are imported; they are from Hafema (Germany). The course, theming and construction are 100% Brazilian! About FireWhip, the park has a former Vekoma engineer there, so they know everything about how to make a Vekoma smooth. lol Of course, it's not as smooth as an Intamin or a B&M, but it doesn't shake that much if compared to other Vekomas.
  11. There's also a video that shows off FireWhip from the construction until its fist ride last week. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6kHmNfQ7T8 It was made by Guilherme Rehbein
  12. Part II... Bye bye Beto Carrero World and bye bye Theme Park Review. Hope to see you all here in Brazil very soon. Thank you for reading this! The sunset announces the end of the first day of FireWhip working for everybody. This is FireWhip; an awesome rollercoaster in an awesome theme park! There are cameras on each train that record your ride, so you can buy a DVD of your experience in the first inverted rollercoaster in Brazil Fog – One of the special effects! =D Yeah, the theming is complete now! But it’s not exclusive for our group today... Let’s wait a little bit! Some members of the Brazilian rollercoaster club were there again to see the now complete FireWhip. It’s a whole new experience here in Brazil, so the entire park wanted to ride it. The fireworks announce that everybody is about to feel the Vekoma power! The Park held a special event for FireWhip grand opening. At the end of the day, we can watch an incredible show that tells us about Beto Carrero life. It’s a special moment that makes everybody laugh and cry at the same time. It’s called: Beto Carrero Memory Show. As you can see, Beto Carrero World has a lot of rides and attractions for the whole family. The park is very large and I can’t show everything here, or it would take about four pages of pictures. So I end up this TR here and leave a bonus to you: some pictures of FireWhip grand opening that happened last Sunday! Weee!!! BCW really loves Vekomas. They have three ones. Here it is: Star World Mountain The second sign says “Montanha-Russa”, which means “rollercoaster” in portuguese, so let’s follow it! RIP guys! Oh my God!
  13. Hey everyone, Last week, December 28th, Beto Carrero World (the most famous Brazilian theme park) opened the first inverted rollercoaster in Brazil! It’s called FireWhip – in honor of the park’s founder Beto Carrero, known for his cowboy whip performances. The park invited the Brazilian rollercoaster club (CBMR) for an exclusive pre-opening on the December 13 and we had a lot of fun while riding this coaster for some hours. We also enjoyed the other park rides and attractions, so here is a special photo TR for you guys from TPR. Hope you like it! ---------- Some of you may know that Brazil has continental dimensions, so the members of our club live very far away from each other. We created a main group that travelled together to the park which is located in the South of the country. The other members decided to go there by themselves. When we arrived at the bus station in Santa Catarina (state where BCW is located in), a park truck was waiting for us to take everybody to the park! Beto Carrero World has a great haunted house. Second part is coming now... =P Hi! The cable car stops next to the zoo. FireWhip and Star World Mountain – we’re gonna ride this one later. Park entrance. Look at the ferris wheel. We have an awesome view of the park from here! Let’s go to another area of the park by the cable car. And a pregnant guy! lol There’s a very funny mirror house in this island where you can see some fat boys. Yay for boob credit at Beto Carrero World! The boobs! No! Not the amazing pirate ship! Here we have something that TPR really loves! As you can see, there is a swinging ship in the Pirate’s Island. (It was closed today, because it’s getting a new theming!) Thank you! That’s what I said! Ok, let’s head to the Pirate’s Island! Baby elephant. Crazy tea cups. Bumper cars. Credit whores! Dum-Dum – The kiddie coaster of the park. One of the most beautiful river rapids in the world. It was a very hot day, so let’s refresh in the Império das Águas (Water Empire) But the sheriff is there to help us. It happens a robbery in the middle of the adventure. :S Applause! Some dinosaurs come to life. At Dinomagic, we pass by a haunted forest. Dinomagic – A railway that takes us to several “magic” places. The park also has an Intamin 1st gen. tower. Big Tower is awesome. Let’s radicalize and ride Big Tower, an Intamin drop tower that is 100 meters (328 feet) tall! You see? The park is very well themed! Now let’s ride Tigor Mountain, a Vekoma that pleases the whole family! There’s a cool drop in the water in the end. It’s similar to Disney’s "It’s a Small World"... But not that annoying! =P After this amazing time, we went to other rides and attractions in the park. This is Raskapuska. Some printscreens of when it was showed on TV. You can watch it here: http://mediacenter.clicrbs.com.br/templates/player.aspx?uf=2&contentID=44624&channel=41 And the TV channels interviewed us! So, we returned to the station and rode it again. But Big Tower is higher than us! =( Hello, Tchibum! We’re higher than you! By the way, we got some great pictures at the top of FireWhip. Everybody wanted to take some pictures there. The park let us climb up the lifthill too! Yeah, by foot! FireWhip was only running for CBMR that day! (I’m sure that the public didn’t like to watch it) We rode it until our strengths were gone. (What is not that long since we were riding a Vekoma) And again! Again! And we rode again! Weee!!! It’s time to ride. Alisson and me where the first ones to ride FireWhip in the front seats that day. We were greeted by Beto Carrero son: Alex Murad. Since Beto Carrero passed away in the beginning of last year, now he is the park president. The paint job is amazing! So, here it is! Wait for us FireWhip! (As you can see, its theming wasn’t complete for our pre-opening, but who cares? =D) But first, we have to ride it. So, here we go FireWhip! Woohoo! o/ The park called us to say that they had also invited the media (some TV channels) to interview our group and that they needed our opinions about the new Vekoma SLC. OMG! A picture of half of the group in front of the castle. Passports on hand. We got together to the other CBMR members in the entrance of the park. Thank you for the lift Beto Carrero World! Going to the park! (we see you Big Tower! =D) Yeah, we were the first ones to see it! Some say this new area will be an independent theme park in the future... This is the Aventura Selvagem (Wild Adventure) truck. It will be used in the new area of the park under construction. It’s part of a safari attraction.
  14. Just got some new construction pictures... Last picture... Can't wait to ride FireWhip on December 13th! =D If you take a closer look, you can see how high are the rocks that will create the fake waterfall under the coaster. The trains were put in the track... Don't know why, but as you can see, it's just their structure; the park is still working on their rehab and adding the sound system. *o* The work doesn't stop! They have just a few weeks till FireWhip receives its first riders! =D New toilets and stores on the free-fall island... It's next to FireWhip Here you can see the new structure above de station that will hold the canvas. FireWhip
  15. Yeah, you're right! It will have something related to "fire"... The big announcement will be late this month on a tourism event here in Brazil. But Beto Carrero World has already confirmed that the trains will "fly" over water and the park will use tons of rocks to create an artificial waterfall / lake.
  16. It reminds me those images that were published on several websites, and Alton Towers asked to remove them later. It was related to a new themed land with a mysterious atmosphere... It could be their Secret Weapon for 2010! It would be an awesome addition...
  17. Yeah! We are very proud about this SLC... It's the first inverted coaster here in Brazil! (BTW, we already had a Pinfari XP56, but it was sold to a foreign park. ) I'm sure this SLC will result in a great progress in the Brazilian theme park industry. Beto Carrero World is currently working on the theme of this coaster. Tests may start later this month.
  18. I like to see these old stuff... Very good! It was a nice place to visit. Looking forward to see the SF one!
  19. Great pics, Hanno! Astroland is a nice park... It's so sad to see what's going on there these days.
  20. OMG, I wanna see its new look... Superman is an amazing coaster and it really deserves this "love"! "...fog banks, fire bursts and heart-pumping audio..."
  21. Very nice first TR! I love to see those onride pics... I wanna go to Thorpe Park some day!
  22. Great TR! Never heard about this park before... That chairswing called my attention.
  23. Again? No... Do you like Giant Pandas?
  24. Great TR! Loved to see that the wood for the new GCI is already on site Seriously, I really wanna go to Cedar Point in a near future! =D
