  1. Hair Raiser is a great ride. I had heard bad things about before I rode but it really didn't disappoint. Yes, it had a very slight shake to it but overall I loved it and wouldn't go back to Hong Kong without making a trip to Ocean Park to reride it.
  2. As far as I can remember, all the flat rides were Chinese copies (or their attempt at copies). I decided to try all 3 as two of them looked different to any ride types I have ridden before apart from the frisbee. The frisbee was extremely intense as was the waikiki wave top spin thing. It didn't freely rotate but was powered around the inversions so was extremely intense and uncomfortable. Hated both of those. That other strange flat ride Chuck posted wasn't actually as bad as I had expected. Suffice to say that I didn't feel to well after enduring a horrible SLC and 3 knock off flat rides and I'm not really a flat ride person, but if you go all the way to China, you might as well try out these unique once-in-a-lifetime style rides!
  3. The bullet coaster was pretty cool. Excellent launch, airtime on first drop is insane but I did notice a lot of lateral shaking, not violent but was a constant left to right shake.
  4. This was my first ever Mega-Lite and absolutely loved it, nice speed, incredible airtime, compact layout, fast lifthill, great ride. You can't really say anything bad about them at all. I think I rode this one between 10-14 times during the day and would have ridden it more if I could!
  5. The American Adventure ride kept stopping around the track as it didn't quite keep connection at all times. Quite strange overall. The Chinese seem to have the impression that they should build dark rides, fill them with animatronics, effects and stuff and then not shine any sort of lighting at them so they operate in pitch darkness. A ton of the dark rides over there were exactly like that. and yes, the guns pretty much failed on that ride. Some guns got around 20 points or some if you pressed it at the right time or something could gain as much as 200 points but it seemed entirely random.
  6. Great photos Hanno. That knockoff SLC was the worst one we rode in my opinion. Shame as it's a clone of my favourite SLC's layout.
  7. Young Star Coaster at Chimelong Paradise
  8. Dinoconda!!! And it was awesome!
  9. Dauling Dragons, insane ride! Wasn't sure how the high five would feel when ridden but it's really cool. Love how it's keeps it's speed until the very end!
  10. You should ride Revolution at Blackpool now, Silky smooth when I rode a month and a bit ago. It's refurb really has been worth it.
  11. Here is a video from Coaster Tube by Gary of the West Coast Tour group wiping out! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=FlowRider_occc[/coastertube]
  12. That place was insanely awesome. I wasn't sure what to expect before going but you just go in and explore. See a hole in the ground, climb down it and see where you end up. I remember climbing up a metal tube in one room and finding myself above above the ceiling a children's play area style multi coloured tunnel. It was very bizzarre. Would love to return. I loved how it had museum'ey type areas and then all the weird exploratory bits
  13. Really looking forward to riding this in September. Looks a nice mix between two previous attractions to make something new and unique.
  14. Great to hear that it has improved. It was noticeable on opening day that they were not happy with the reports from the public about the ride and i'm glad that feedback has been taken onboard to improve it. I'm looking forward to riding it again in just over a weeks time to compare both experiences.
  15. Apart from Nemesis, I would say Oblivion but I know lots of people don't like it but for me, it's up high on my favourite UK coasters. Another of my favourites has to be Wild Mouse at Blackpool, What a ride! Would prefer riding that over Stealth or others. I know it's rough and violent but it's just a great ride and one of the last of a dwindling ride style.
  16. Title Fairy, Please can my title be changed to "Just Neil!" Thankyou
  17. I would have to say Nemesis as my favourite of our British coasters. Oblivion is also very close to the top as I really enjoy that ride, it's short, yes but it packs a punch and it's just excellent.
  18. 1. Nemesis - Alton Towers 2. Flight Deck - California's Great America 3. Afterburn - Carowinds 4. Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Williamsburg 5. Patriot - World's of Fun Patriot only just made it into number 5. I was unsure between that and the Batman clones. Patriot won mainly because it didn't make me feel very dizzy after exiting unlike the 3 Batman clones I have ridden. Neil
  19. Overall I'm not terribly bothered about counting the coasters, much rather enjoy riding them as that's what they are there for, not for counting. I do keep a general count though and a few slight changes from Robbs' thoughts above: dual tracks: If the tracks are entirely separate, I would say count as separate (multiple). I know Steeplechase at Blackpool sounds bizarre but that's my take on it. I realise not everyone would agree but i'm not expecting them too. Mobius Loop layouts eg: Grand National, I would say as one coaster as in effect it is one coaster. Relocated coasters, I can understand Robbs' thoughts on this but too me, I would look at it from a no coaster enthusiasts point of view and if I rode a coaster at one place and say I have ridden it and then I visit a different park and ride that same coaster, most non enthusiasts would say I've been on one similar to this and would say they have ridden that one so in effect counting it twice. Just my thoughts. Powered coasters, Everyone calls them powered coasters so why not count them. or just keep them separated. It's not a big deal honestly. Anyway, I would say a persons coaster count is just an estimate. Everyone seems to get so uptight and argue about how to count coasters but if someone disagrees then fair enough, use your rules for your count and let someone else use their rules. Does it matter? Does it matter if someone has been on more coasters than you? no it doesn't. and anyway, if you have a lower count than others, at least you can say you have more coasters out there left to ride and enjoy for the first time! Kind regards, Neil
  20. Haha. I'll try. It's about time I got to ride it. It's one of those coasters I've been planning on riding for a long time. It just never got around to organising a trip there. Might also spend a few hours on Sunday at Flamingoland
  21. Hopefully i'm off to Lightwater Valley next weekend, never been so will be nice to visit a new park! If anyone wants to meet up, feel free!
  22. I too have to say that Nemesis, to me, is the better ride. I do like Inferno but I find that Inferno seems to make my feel really dizzy when I get off. The only other inverts which seem to make me feel really dizzy are the Batman clones. Every one I have ridden, did the exact same. Odd, other inverts are all fine, just Inferno and Batman clones. I have to admit I do like the pre-lift section of Inferno but overall Nemesis is my favourite of the two.
  23. Looks a really cool ride. Wouldn't mind trying one of those out. MOA was an amazing park. Excellent selection of rides, nicely themed all round, brightly coloured and just had a fantastic day when I was there a few years ago. If I ever fly through MSP again i'll be sure to get a flight with a long delay so I can hop over there and spend more time there! Neil
  24. As Chris stated on the previous page. On opening day it was an extremely disappointing experience. From all the hype and marketing surrounding the lead up to it's arrival it sounded fantastic. The Twitter account, teaser photos all made the lead up rather exciting. The look of the ride, theming, staff interactions are all superb but the ride itself and the duration of it was just too short and dull to really be worth anything. I understand more effects are on the way, ie: a poke in the back and a breath of hot air from behind but I really can't see those making a huge difference. What would improve it is multiple drops and a slightly extended and maybe less rushed ride time. A better understanding of the story would be very useful too as everyone was left rather confused as too what the whole thing was about and it was all very quick and rushed overall. From entering the pre lift to exciting the post lift was only shy of 2 minutes. If the ride was extended slightly they could get a much better experience along the lines of Hex maybe as that's a superb attraction. Anyway, I'll give it another ride ina few months and see if it has improved. It has the potential, loads to be honest but it just is not there at present. Neil
  25. Nice report of our final day in MA. It was a lot cooler that day too which helped a bit. Nice park and I agree, Renegade was running amazingly that evening!
