  1. Th13teen has a trim on the first drop and yes it's noticeable but by the time the train has passed it, everyone has forgotten about the trim and enjoys the ride. Yes the ride would be faster without it but we can't do much to change it
  2. Seems like a lot of Twitter users also use Facebook, but not the other way around. For me, the TPR forum + Twitter + YouTube combo works really well! Can't agree more!
  3. That was the thing, people were looking out for marks from the wheels on the track but due to how dirty, marked and scratched the track was from construction you couldn't tell!
  4. Just noticed the following article on this site: http://www.endorexpress.net/2014/01/paris-indy-coaster-to-be-rebuilt I''m not sure how accurate it is but it does fit in with the parks maintenance schedule I'm not sure if track work is taking place along with it but it would make sense to overall the track like DisneySea's version.
  5. I remember visiting Alton during the construction of the Smiler and I went once when progress was at about the same stage as El Loco is now and people were all stood at the fence trying to figure out whether a train had done a circuit yet or not. Was quite funny. Apparently the first few tests were all done during the night so people were not around to watch so guests started checking the track for signs that trains had been run but the track is in such a state that it was very hard to tell.
  6. I have an account with the majority of them but mostly use Twitter. Twitter is excellent, stops people waffling and just gets stuff done! Then I use YouTube a lot too. Facebook I do have an account but hardly ever post updates or read peoples posts but do on Twitter. Weird eh!
  7. Absolutely love that park. Beautiful location, rides are decent and the location is worth mentioning a second time! Must get back to Hong Kong!
  8. Fist of this year will either be at Blackpool at beginning of February or if I don't hit Blackpool it's 99% likely to be Nemesis at Alton Towers mid February when the park partially opens for Half Term.
  9. Favourite new coasters of 2013 are: 3. Ultra Twister (Rusutsu's one) 2. Dodonpa 1. Gravity Max 3 awesome rides. Veil of Dark would be 4 and The Smiler at 5.
  10. If this topic had been posted at the beginning of last year I would have said the Big Dipper at Blackpool, but then I had an ERT session in the freezing cold on it and it ran perfectly. As long as they keep up their maintenance then that ride runs perfectly!
  11. For a coaster, maybe something like Big Grizzly Mountain or 305. and for a flat, an Intamin drop tower, Tower of Terror or one of the amazing Tagada's!
  12. Just read the last few pages of updates. All sounds rather mysterious and can't wait to hear more. The throughput does sound very low but I guess they must have a way of dealing with it.
  13. Drop towers scare the crud out of me but I always force myself to ride them. Blue Fall was a very long way to the top and the waiting just seems to take forever!
  14. Just posted mine! Looking forward to seeing the results!
  15. Nice idea! The first one that popped into my head was Fairground by Simply Red
  16. Love that ride! Very rough nowadays though. and it's a really nice little park.
  17. Chose "Love them". They sometimes highlight conversations I have missed which can be helpful.
  18. ^ What an awesome ride that is! The dive loop is a very weird feeling and just keeps the ride experience continuous compared to the standard versions. (which are still great rides). I loved Rusutsu's travelator type conveyor belt in the middle of the field that you stand on for it to pull you up the hill to get to it! Oh, and the fact the park had no idea that their ultra twister was sooo unique!
  19. Bill, All the larger mugs that Alton do are the embossed/raised style mugs. They do also sell smaller standard mugs with the alton logo on which are cheaper but the larger ones are much nicer.
  20. Wow, the line for that jet coaster is incredible. Yeh, those rides just wander along not picking up a great deal of speed and the cars can be very tight to even people who are not that tall!
  21. Nice recap of the day. Steel Dragon felt like a rough B&M to me. Nice ride but not as good as I had hoped. Looping star - Wow, this was a very pleasant surprise. I wasn;t expecting much but this ride tracked perfectly was very smooth and really enjoyable. Wish i'd have ridden it again. Ultra Twister - This are weird but very cool. When you arrive back at the station you are just lost for words at what just happened. The huge pirate ship looked incredible but I was quite disappointed when I rode it as the smaller (normal sized) versions seem to provide a better ride. The ninja's at the airport were neat! This airport also had the magic machines that allow you to take opened and unopened bottled drinks through security with you. I was furious when I went through security on my journey home through Charles de Gaulle as they made me throw away my last bottle of Pocari Sweat. oh well, it was France afterall.
  22. ^ I forgot about that one. I didn't realise you could ride that in your swimming gear. I was thinking that if you couldn't then I wouldn't expect the ridership to be very high.
  23. I too recall the food at Disney Paris not being that great. I ate at an italian restaurant nearby to Buzz Lightyear and it wasn't great.
  24. The Thanksgiving area seemed like they had an empty plot of land to build on and then realised they have to give access to it for guests so they built that long walkway. I remember it feeling very RCT'ish. But i'm all for more shade!
  25. What a bizarre ride. I understand what Sally mean when asked what is the strangest ride they have been asked to build.
