  1. Looks like a really great addition for Adventure City. Great choice as it's totally unique for the area and it should entice people in as it's going to spotted by many people as they drive past too.
  2. Fantastic report of the trip. It really was a shame to have to leave the TDR resort.
  3. One that's come up recently:- Parks that close their Single Rider Queues or only use them at certain times/or after the main queue is of a certain length. Surely the whole point of having a single rider queue is to have it there for people to fill empty seats. If the single rider queue is closed then that cannot happen and those single riders have to wait in the main queue which annoys them and reduces capacity as more empty seats are created on the ride.
  4. I'm really glad that this ride is creating positive reviews. It does look great and i'm sure it fits in really well at the Adventuredome. I'd love to get back to Vegas sometime and am bound to I guess. It's nice to see a new coaster in Vegas to take over the loss of Speed.
  5. What about nemesis? It definitely is a stand out ride, no? I agree it's a stand out ride but I would assume (my own opinion here mind), that if they featured Nemesis and aired that to the public it may look quite boring and it is the same type as others coasters they have featured in the past. This is not saying the ride is boring as it's a great ride but from the point of view of the people watching, it may come across that way. Maybe it would work if they put the emphasis on the location in a blasted out hole in the rock and more from that angle it might work but from the coaster angle itself, I don't see it.
  6. I think i preferred Hair Raiser over Insane Speed. The airtime hill on Hair Raiser was surprisingly good and the location cannot be beaten.
  7. I really can't see them hitting up Thorpe as nothing at Thorpe is standoutish. The only ride I could see them featuring at Alton is Smiler and that's mainly due to the 14 inversion gimmick. I do know of another couple of parks set to be featured though...
  8. Nitro has a DOUBLE CORKSCREW! It has to be good! Looks a solid ride but yeh, I agree, Each B&M type are very similar in ride experience except with one or two stand outs such as Sky Scrapper. B&M's definitely used to be the sort of kings of the amusement parks but I really think that over the last few years other coasters are taking the top spots. That is not to say that the B&M's are bad, merely the experience they provide is not a good as some other rides cropping up.
  9. Totally forgot about Space Fantasy, The weird arching columns create a gothic yet very modern style and the orbs hanging down all lit up are eerie too. The whole ride is just amazing. Totally bonkers but very awesome.
  10. Right, Officially confused. They cannot be in the UK. I just don't believe it. What link does Blackpool have?
  11. ^ It would totally make sense as the wording of the poster wouldn't be "Heading to Heathrow?" if you are already there and other London based airports are not gonna be advertising a competitor are they? Now it's trying to figure out where they are off to as Amsterdam is a gateway to so many places. I'm think maybe the park at Sochi. Ocean Kingdom is a possibility but I would guess R&E would wait to return to China on the next China trip to keep trips there to a minimum. The Japan trip is in March so I can't see that being likely and the flights would have been the other direction. It MUST be somewhere in Europe/Scandi/Russia, that area anyway.
  12. It's a really hard game. I can't see it being anywhere in the UK as Smiler is Gerstlauer and not Intamin. I can't think of a new Intamin ride in the UK that they have not ridden. Also Smiler is currently under a lot of work to be prepared for a more stable season this year. Also, could that sign about the heathrow express actually be at Schipol advertising about it? Really confused.
  13. I always take some form of bag with me as I don't mind carrying it and would rather put stuff in a separate bag than in pockets. I normally take: - Phone - Camera - Wallet - Keys - Case for glasses - Light jacket - Small phone battery + cable - Glasses - Sports strap for glasses.
  14. It still looks like the return leg of that is sped up but it's not! Crazy ride but the dive loop makes this so much better than the standard models and even the standard models are good.
  15. Thanks for posting those Ken. Great pictures of a great place. I really want to go back sometime. I think Mysterious Island is my most favourite part of a park ever. The size and amount of theming is totally over the top (in a good way!). Toy Story Mania was a good ride to be closed during our visit as it was pretty much a clone of the others. Good ride though, oh and the oversize toys and the theming in TSM's station is great too. DisneySea really does have some of the best park ride characters: Shiriki Utundu, Chandu and the LAVA MONSTER! Did you have a wander around the SS Columbia or go into the Fortress Explorations? I can't blame you if you didn't as there is so much to discover in this park. Great report once again!
  16. I do like inversions on coasters but not when they are overdone. I like long coasters that don;t either get boring at the end or try to kill you. Some of my favourite coaster types: B&M Floorless, Big Grizzly Mountain Intimidator 305 Apollo's Chariot.
  17. Chuck, Here's your "Conquered the shrine hill walk" picture: and Robert, great overview of the day at Hirakata. I really wasn't expecting much from this park but it surprised me greatly. ELF was a nice little ride and it's high position on the high was quite unique. The Jet Coaster just lumbered along and they don't really kill you but are strangely fun. The seats are oddly tight and awkward though. I also noticed the Spinner had lost it's spin and Peekaboo Town was much better than the horror of Fantastic Coaster Rowdy. The walkthrough where you had to hit sticks on different coloured lights in a maze was very bizzare but great fun!
  18. ^ What about the Double Corkscrews on Insane Speed?!! They were insanely speedy!
  19. ^ I have a lot a few theme park related ones and then the majority are just random keychains from different places and people so don't really link in here. I could post the theme park ones in a topic somewhere if people wish.
  20. I think my favourite has to be the bobblehead statue of Shiriki. I also have an old sensor from Oblivion that was given to me but that's not exactly a souvenir that was purchased. I also really like the small models of ride vehicles that Tokyo Disney sell. I mostly buy keychains from parks as I collect them and have 2000+!
  21. Were those same track style as Steeplechase at BP but with sit down cars rather than BP's horses?
  22. I like the stations of Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Nemesis, 13, Big Grizzly Mountain, Space Mountain.
