  1. All you guys are doing is acting as their enabler.
  2. I just laugh at those people. I had a guy in a G35 pull next to me on the highway one time and drop a gear or two.. I just lol'd. Like, what is he thinking? Obviously I didn't waste my time with the douchebag.. let them impress themselves, cause I promise he isn;t impressing anyone else! "Or"? Dude, he's just being realistic. Don't trip. I mean, he can't have EVERY supercar out there. duh. I'm loving how the car thread has been busy lately! Best thread on TPR, behind the beer thread
  3. Be careful with heating up your windshield if it has ice on it, you could crack it if the conditions are right (super cold outside, really quick heat-up inside). Saving a couple minutes < $500+ windwhield
  4. Possibly my favorite Larry post ever. And there are certainly lots of contenders for that award!
  5. Road head? ^It might make more sense if cruise was tied to rpm's like i believe old manuals were
  6. lol if that's what I am, that's what I am Glad to see Robb and the Stig have my back - I mean, c'mon guys, ITS THE STIG! Unfortunately, I live on the Piedmont, and not in Ohio (wait, scratch that - FORTUNATELY ) I can tell you that I have tried before and gotten slightly worse mileage (maybe 1 mpg worse, but still worse!)
  7. Sorry, I just find cruise control 1. Takes the interaction out of driving, leading to... 2. Creates a false sense of security 3. Constantly needs to be readjusted on highways where people are moving at varying speeds 4. Takes away from fuel economy Not a fan, even on 4 am drives on I20 between Atlanta and Columbia SC I refused to use cruise
  8. Can Siri be loaded onto ipod touch's? Is there anything like it on other mobile devices?
  9. awesome! is this standard on the newer RCCL ships?
  10. Thoughts? Car is cool, but cruise control is for old people
  11. no worries, understood
  12. And I don't understand that criticism. Ok, I guess I can understand it for the 128 (or especially the 120, which we don't get), but the 1M is a pretty badass car as you said, and no one seems to complain about its competition (Lotus, RS3, Gayman - all more expensive) being too small for the price. IMO its the right size for a sports car that can be driven daily. The 1M is roughly the same size as an M3 from the late 90s. With car sizes going the way they are, I'd say the 1 being the size of a 3 from 2 generations ago is about right. I kinda think the 1 looks mediocre to begin with, but I did see an all-black 1M that looks very aggressive - just sick, really. I'd take one, especially considering the resale value will hold especially strong if they truly intend for it to be a one-off .. and the fact that it looks like an Infiniti is sickening to me
  13. I'm going to need a new phone sooner or later - do any of the Verizon Android devices run something similar to Blackberry's SuteType? I'd consider getting a smartphone again if I could do that - it works great for my fat fingers, and, honestly, I really only need my phone for texting since I'm usually near a computer and I have a Ipod touch for "fun" (so I'm also considering getting something a step or two up from a burner with no data plan)
  14. It always takes me a while to come around on new designs - unless we're talking the 911 of course, since I grew up with that same rough shape I agree, Dave. It is one of the classiest convertibles in my opinion, a timeless design before they became muddled in the same group as the IS350C/Toyota Solara crowd. I was mostly just sharing the pic of the wheels it was just hard to find a convertible with those wheels that'll do
  15. if you throw the csl wheels on it, I really can't disagree
  16. So as a new-found BMW fanboy, what do y'all think of the new F30 3-series? I haven't really liked the look of current-generation (E90) models, but that's mostly cause I think the prior generation E46 coupe is the best looking BMW ever (well, save for one certain model ) and the E9x's were the first to be Bangle'd. I think it looks ok at best, but as long as it drives well, I'll dig it Of course this is the sedan, and I like the current gen coupes much more than the sedans, sooo A bit more rounded at the front, less aggressive IMO Not too different from the current 3er Now THAT I love
  17. I bought a Cannondale Bad Boy a few months ago - rode it a few times a week over summer (sometimes for exercise, but mostly to bars, and to school a couple times too) and have not ridden it since probably August. I just don't have the time anymore. I love most everything about cycling - except that our sidewalks are not built for bikes, thus pushing us onto..... the road =/
  18. Just when you think you've seen it all, someone shows up with a pumpkin carving of Kenny motherf***in powers. I'll probably use it as an excuse to drink. I haven't dressed up in probably a decade
  19. 6-0. A weak 6-0, but still 6-0. Only team in our division without a conference loss - I'll take it. The Clempson game will be huge
  20. How many patents (and subsequent market share of such devices as the iPod, iPhone and iPad) does it take to be a revolutionary innovator? I'm not crazy ab out the Mac hysteria either, and I do agree he is a hell of a marketer, but I won't deny him his due praises for his innovations.
  21. .. and here I thought you liked Six Flags America, sheesh!
  22. Carnival gets few 2nd-time cruisers, and virtually none that go a 3rd time. I guess they are comfortable with that.
  23. That was SFOG? Big Mike is back in town? Call me impressed.. wish I had time to check it out this year, I hope it maintains if not builds on this level of effort and quality
  24. Truth. That is actually a terrible idea. Pay the buck to secure it while you ride
  25. ^ I could see that. I'm not really a beetle fan, so it really doesn't matter to me (or VW) in the end Drive it like you stole it!! Just went for a drive myself.. honestly, I HAVE to push my car to at least 4-5k to really feel anything. Its actually kinda sluggish in the city, so I get really excited when I see an on-ramp
