Lots of awesome places listed! Vegas and San Fran are still my favorite American cities. I haven't really been around Europe (or the world, really) to give proper judgement, but I really loved Munich. They kept the 500 year old buildings, wonderful street culture, tons of beer etc. Which leads me to.. Preface: I love Germany. BUT, I'm not sure I'd consider their food to be a high point (though, if you're coming from the UK, it may be an improvement ) "Nice" people may be a bit strong too - I'd consider them to be very polite and cordial, but coming from the old south, not over the top nice. But I do realize we have entirely different standards in the southern US than the Europeans do! Bavaria was very warm and friendly though compared to NRW and the Saxony states, probably due to the fact that so many speak English, which in turn is due to the American presence after the war The Alps were beautiful. Its amazing how a small continent like Europe has some of the most beautiful and diverse geography - the Mediterranean, the Alps, the Fjords etc etc

You really should be nicer - he could become your #1 customer since he needs to prep a car for sale twice a year, not to mention you could add your dbag surcharge for his next hummer

I don't have one, but a good buddy of mine has a SS. Nice enough car. The V6 is probably too little for such a heavy car, but then again, you're talking mpg's and camaro in the same sentence - to sum it up, you're doing it wrong! My first choice if you want sporty and economy in the same car is always the VW GTI/GLI(if these are still made!). I do love the style of the thing. There's only one current GM car that I'd own, but the Camaro is probably my second favorite from them. If it wasn't so popular with drug dealers around here I might consider owning it

As usual, Larry's analysis is spot-on! another good post!

I'm just trying to learn about how cars work a little better My ratios are all larger than yours across the board though so I'm back to square one at figuring this out... maybe hp, gear ratios, redlines, weight and all that don't matter as much as sports car makers want us to believe lol Not hate on your car intended. When my Saturn dies, an old GTI will probably be my new daily car. Love the Germans edit: I did some research, and found out the explanation as to why a Jetta and an MC both near the redline around the same speed. I was onto it - gear ratios. Because I have a higher gear ratio (3.62 final), I "move through" my range of revs faster. The only thing that keeps our max speeds in gear 3 so close is because I have 1500 more rpm to run with, otherwise I'm probably around 84 mph in 3rd if we were at the same 6500 rpm

Sorry if I came across like I didn't believe you - I guess I need to get longer gears

Alabama's loss was a lot more respectable than OSU's too.The debate can go on forever and that's fine with me if it leads to a playoff. Not sure if you should really fault Alabama for playing in the same division as the best team in the nation... I'd love to see them get a rematch (first game wasn't really decisive) but also would love to see OK State get their chance too. If you want to talk about a soft SEC schedule, look at the team that won the East - they play all but 3 teams with a 12 team conference, and UGA managed to miss Alabama, LSU and Arkansas. Sure, the SEC East has been ACC-like the past couple years... can't hate on the West though, the top 3 are stellar. .. don't remind me =( goddamn Miami kills us every year with their speed, and they have sucked lately! Kudos to the ACC for sending 2 teams to get embarrassed in BCS bowls for the first time. Congrats to UVA too, welcome back to relevance. And.... a day game in El Paso? Kill me now. btw Joey, I haven't seen the schedule, what bowl are the Trojans headed to?

Spoken like a fan of a team who's conference generally tries to imitate the Big 11 by not playing defense!

^ Houston/SMU was wildly entertaining for the first 3 quarters as well

Hope you don't even consider giving back the deposit till you get the keys

Kudos to you for finally being able to make TPR profitable enough to pay the bills! I'll come visit when you take that job running the scrambler.. at diabolical speeds, I presume.

Its FWD * and for the record, I had some fun last night and tested something: my car was at 7500 rpm in 3rd gear at 95mph. You might have been in 4th at that speed, or much slower than 95. At least I really hope your Jetta couldn't hang with my car haha
-
The shift point from 3>4 is really at 95 mph in a VW v6? I think that's where my car is roughly.. with probably almost 2x the power and 8k rpm to play with... Anyways, I understand the thrill of pushing a car to its limits. Few things excite me more than having the "you're having too much fun" light (traction control) come on. I like the roar best from 3-4k though

You're all doing it wrong. -
it already can be a felony... and is that really a bad idea? There is also legislation floating around out there making it illegal to violate a web site's Terms of Service - but apparently dating sites are to be excluded, so you can still lie to potential partners
