  1. WOW. It pains me, as someone who lost money on the old PKS/SIX, to see the stock doing that well. d'oh!
  2. Wow cruises and space centers... I think if you could manage to include a beer and a naked chick you would cover all of my interests in one thread!
  3. ^ Amazing. Erik still doesn't have it ranked high enough
  4. 9/11 conspiracy believers can make Sam Marks look sane. oh, wait, that might be going too far..
  5. It's ok. If you want, you can hop on the Marlins bandwagon. We need all the support we can get.
  6. Is that an Opel or Nissan badge?
  7. me too. I only clicked in hopes of seeing pictures of the Schwarzkopf. Seeing a bunch of hot Swedes was a nice bonus. Who cares about the woodie..
  8. yeah, there were several years where we just didn't go. Anyone who thinks it can get "ghetto" now doesn't have any idea... I'm not actually sure how I'd answer this question. SFA is a good option, just because its sooo under where it should be as a big park in a huge metropolitan area, but its not as bad as say Family Kingdom either (Swamp Fox wasn't even that good..".. Uncle Bernie's is the epitome of a ghetto "park" but its not really a park so, idk. oh, wait, yes I do! Visionland.
  9. QFT. Fact is, its an accomplishment to be shared by Clinton, Bush and Obama. I think the difference between us killing him and celebrating and arabs celebrating after 9/11 is that they were celebrating the death of civilians, whereas we were celebrating the death of the man who was behind their deaths and contributed to the deaths of American soldiers in Afghanistan. Civilians vs a terrorist.
  10. With these developments, and an open position, I expect Hollywood to give us a reality show based on this.. call it "so you think you can run a terrorist organization?" (after all, we do have millions looking for employment), and I'd imagine more Americans would watch it than those who vote. YAY! Now can we get back to fixing the economy?!?
  11. That's probably the best Mellow Mushroom in the country - not only does it have the solid food, but their local beer selection is fantastic! I've actually never been to Daddy Dz, surprising seeing as I live 5 minutes away. One of these days!
  12. Thanks to Robb for pointing out parking prices at other parks. I didn't realize Universal had gone up to $15 as well, but then again, they have a parking deck To answer why parking has greatly outpaced inflation, I would just guess that parks got tired of subsidizing parking costs with admissions. You have to pay taxes on the land, you have to maintain it (which, admittedly SF doesn't do a great job of, but even on the low end, its going to be $250/space/yr), you have to pay a bunch of people (collect fees, guide traffic, security), you have to insure it, etc. SF Parking went up to $15 when Shapiro took office in 06, and hadn't gone up since.
  13. Nothing beats a Schwarzkopf looper, thanks for the pics, its like porn for me
  14. ^ Yeah, I pay $10 to park at the baseball stadium on weeknights. I believe its higher on the weekend, and they offer much more expensive front-row parking as well. $20 or more for football games, for sure. And yeah, some concerts are cheap or free parking, others are not. $20 event parking isn't too terrible - its usually at least $10 to park on a regular night here in Atlanta, and we have fairly cheap parking. I remember my hotel in San Fran being $20/hr!! ok, so that's not entirely comparable, but it puts things into perspective These threads are always awesome. Same people defending it, same people bitching, every time. To people saying they won't go now - really? $5 is going to be the game-changer? That's, what, a beer? A gallon of gas? A coffee? A magazine? Even less of a % impact (per person) if you carpool
  15. ^ LOL!! The secret was to wash your hands in Lake Erie, there were enough toxins in the water to wipe it right off!(along with your skin, of course..) seriously, that was the dumbest queue-cutting system ever. edit: unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the vendor, Lo-Q, takes home a big chunk of the profits (not to detract any park from opting to use them as it is beneficial to the park, Lo-q and the guests)
  16. Considering I think my mom said that was her dream car or whatever in her 20s, NO!!! anyways http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/bugatti_galibier_jbarlow_gallery?imageNo=1 At first, I put it on the same page as the Panamera. But then I got to this photo: ignoring the 4 tailpipes on each side, and the very meh wheels, and that is gorgeous
  17. All of which are equally pointless to own, with the exception of the Ram (if you're a construction worker or have a need to tow things). The other SUVs get closer to17-20 mpg, so yeah, 9-11mpg isn't that far off on a nominal level, but its almost twice as much more! Though I do disagree with all big SUVs being pointless - they can seat a lot of people if needed for a big family, just like a van. Not saying that I like vans or SUVs but they aren't totally impractical IMO (though, in his case - YES!) The best thing about the Hummer? They had some 'cute' commercials. btw, have we effectively determined that the Camaro IROC-Z was the only decent car to come out of the 80s??
  18. I also thought Black Albert was terribly overrated when I first had it, but respect it a lot more now. I had a Dark Lord yesterday that I got from Derek, and it was the best vintage I've tried. Hop-ruiter from Scheldebrouwerij. Yeah, try to say that one! Never seen it before, so I was happy to try it - it fell a bit short of a Belgian IPA, more like a pale with some grassy hops. Decent enough 2006 Cantillon Iris - this was the first time I've had this, so to start off with a cellared bottle was quite a treat. Absolutely fantastic, one of their milder efforts as far as sourness goes, so it was incredibly drinkable.
  19. Too bad you still don't have it rated high enough...
  20. I was having a conversation with someone a few weeks ago about how you don't see Hummers on the road nearly as often anymore, speculating that it was due to the ridiculousness of the vehicle, the ~10mpg, the fact that it was a 60k plastic car, unreliable etc etc... we had thought people had gotten smart enough to avoid the things. And then you showed up.
  21. Had the afternoon free and just did mine. YAY! I guess I can share my top 10 as well [Favorite Wood Coaster Any Park Anywhere **,y,n,1] Mindbender Six Flags Over Geo GA,y,n,2 Expedition GeForce Holiday Park DE,y,n,3 Kumba Busch Gardens Afri FL,y,n,4 Olympia Looping Traveling DE,y,y,5 Bizarro SF New England MA,y,n,6 HeiBe Fahrt Freizeitp Klotten DE,y,n,7 Revenge of the Mummy Universal Studios FL,y,n,8 Wild Train E Strasswalchen AT,y,y,9 Winjas - Fear Phantasialand DE,y,n,10 Winjas - Force Phantasialand DE,y,n,11 Montu Busch Gardens Afri FL,y,n,12 the bottom of my list is your standard crappy loopers (Ninja, Manhattan Express), Togo standups, and crappy Italian clones and such I just realized the top of my list is almost entirely from Florida and Germany. hmm
  22. nope, not 86 at least, that I would pick it anyway Despite my southern inclination to go with a Cut Supreme or something pimpable like that, and it being the year of the first M3, I actually chose an American muscle car! 1986 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z. Yeah baby!!
  23. This game will suck for those of us born in the 80s. I'll try to find something decent
  24. How many are YOU at? I know you've been to 6 continents, but don't actually remember if you've ever said how many you've been to! I'm guessing its more than the ~35 states I've been to....
  25. I actually didn't mind them being black (despite my normal opinion on black rims, it looks ok with the dark red) and the wheel style is ok (I LOVE 5 spoke rims) but I don't like them being "bent" (ie 458, M6 etc) But apparently I have a narrow acceptance of what I like as far as rims go
