  1. There were wheels in that pic? (I also vote no - they look like the M6 wheels, blah)
  2. Thanks for the unprovoked update, misses title fairy! I figured it would be cool to have an avatar that looks like me
  3. Mongo If it wasn't so expensive, it would be my daily drinker, but I can get a sixer of my awesome local IPA for the same price =/ What I've been drinking lately edit: sorry the captions are all screwed up. I'm being too lazy to fix them, grrr, stupid TPR See, I wasn't lying, I love Mongo! Another hyped beer that I slept on but was able to score a bottle. Belgian oude bruin's are generally among my favorite styles, and this was no exception. Nice touches of wood, vinegar acidity and a bit of sweetness to balance everything. Surpassed Red Poppy as my favorite American version! This is what I am currently sipping on right before bed - De Struise's Black Albert. This is the original batch that you had to get from Belgium when they first bottled in 08, and it has held up quite well. I probably appreciate it more now that I have grown to appreciate stouts more. Very chocolatey at this point, with some burnt, semi-bitter undertones. I like this a lot more than I did 3 years ago New Belgium La Terroir - I saw some threads hyping this on BA, didn't really pay attention or seek it out, but I am glad I picked one up afterall! The balance was spot-on, incredibly drinkable sour, almost beat out Eric's Ale as my favorite NB beer
  4. never heard of it...
  5. ^ At least the difference between regular and mid-grade is only $0.10, the increases between grades went up to $0.15 here several years ago I remember when we (along with TX) used to have some of the cheapest gas in the country! Now, we're still pretty cheap (I think its around $3.60), but we're not much different than the rest of the south (save for FL) It was around $1.25 when I first started driving, and I remember gas prices being in the $0.70 range as a kid..
  6. *I* am surprised I like that. ooooh Aston Martin, quite possibly the only car manufacturer whom I would deal with Silver for... Speaking of, the new Chrysler 200s are annoying. The rear badge looks too much like an Aston badge from a distance =/
  7. get rid of all of the 23's, and I love it. Apart from the stupid air vents on the side, that car is just beautiful - and I do not normally find verts hot, but wow.. that looks sharp
  8. Whatever helps you sleep at night!
  9. I actually saw that and contemplated posting that to facebook with a snide remark about disgruntled Pirates fans, the fact that the entire crowd that night was captured in one shot, 2 decades of depression etc etc...but couldn't come up with a real good one... sigh
  10. I think it varies by market. Some, like SoCal/DC/SanFran/NYC, its almost certainly better to rent, but the house next to me is a rental, and the payment is only about $100 less than mine - but mine was fully remodeled in '09 (vs 1950s), and I get to deduct interest and taxes and stuff, which was ~$2k for me last year... ::shrug:: The real 'American Dream' problem is the people who shouldn't be able to get a $10k car loan, yet they take out a $250k mortgage Kind of a weird thread to rant about your mortgage in, though
  11. if you really want to go there, it used to come out in November, not January...
  12. Its awesome going through the ballot for the first time in a couple of years and seeing all the rides from Geauga Lake at other parks now.. I wonder if I can still count them
  13. Bourbon county was also one of my first "Holy shit!" beers, it was the first stout I really liked and got me to try more (my first attempt was Old Rasputin Beers I've had in the past week.. Founders Red's Rye - I have loved this in the past, but felt this one wasn't quite as good. I don't know if its a tap vs bottle issue, or freshness, but it didn't seem as sharp and flavorful Midnight Sun Arctic Devil - this one was from 2007, and was sublime. Rich malts, molasses, caramel, oak and no alcohol to be found. The only barleywine I've ever had that was better than aged Harvest Ale, and probably in my top 5-10 beers of all time
  14. Lots of kiddie coasters by myself. I remember riding Silver Comet by myself too, I was there on a weekday and it was dead. The ride ran like shit (until other riders showed up, that is)
  15. ^ and maybe if all of the projects "in development" in the Emirates actually open!
  16. I'm mixed on the Cayenne. I'm definitely one of the people who thinks the only choices one should have to make when buying a Porsche are "what color?" and "turbo - yes or no?", so I don't like it in that aspect, and I'm not a very big fan of sport utes in general, but if I had to get one and it couldn't be an H1 or Range Rover (as in, no intention of really abusing it on terrain), why not get one that happens to be a Porsche?
  17. They were trendy here too last summer among the hip hop crowd, thankfully, that seems to have gone away finally
  18. ^ I actually disagree with that. Nothing can make a Panamera look anything better than repulsive.
  19. ^ LOL! They could have at least gone with something somewhat fast Hot off the presses..
  20. ^ Not at all, given that Dollywood had hour waits when it first opened Mystery Mine, despite having decent operations, a bunch of guests who weren't interested in riding, and having the 8-person cars instead of 6-seaters. Its going to be interesting to see how they handle it
  21. ^ The last one is the best!!! You forgot that we will get sick of hearing about the Sox on ESPN by April 1.. and, for the record, 2 teams had lower attendance than the Marlins last year
  22. wait, what? Direct sun? When were you last at the park, 25 years ago? I'm greatly disappointed that this isn't about actual cars =(
  23. lp.org, different name, same beliefs
  24. I was out on the westside on Wednesday... kinda funny to see that this ride is no taller than Goliath's helix
