  1. I have gone to SFGAdv on Easter morning each of the past 3 years and it has been very empty. How big is a large Jew? Hopefully large Jews can't fit on El Toro.
  2. ^A visit early in the season can vary greatly from a visit during Fright Fest events.
  3. Good luck at the "Canes" Film Festival!
  4. The review isn't that harsh. The reviewer makes it clear that his family prefers theming. The reviewer enjoyed quite a few of the star attractions. Although he does change his stance on the employees, initially they were OK, then later he says they did not care. He appears to be knowledgable about the industry and may be dumbing down certain points for the GP to understand. I think everything he knocks the park on is fair. Although people that complain about food prices at Six Flags need to understand that is the case at all corporate parks.
  5. ^I'll return once this summer (hoping that Cliffhanger at Ghost Town in the Sky opens) and then return one more time for Smoky Mountain Christmas. I'll let you know.
  6. Erik - I'm in the same boat as you with season passes. Six Flags Dollywood Busch Gardens Two Year - picking up in San Antonio in 4 weeks Cedar Fair - Might buy in October, if buying a 2009 pass at that time gets me in for free in 2008.
  7. ^As overlord of the Park Index, I concur wholeheartdly.
  8. Thai - I find it odd that are not also wearing a pink cape. Those shirts rock!
  9. I've gone the past 3 years on Easter Sunday (aka Season Pass Day). I generally only stay for the first two hours before going to my Mom's for Easter Dinner. In those first two hours I generally get about 8 rides on El Toro and a couple of circuits on Nitro before heading home.
  10. I did not realize they owned that many FECs and waterparks in the US. I only knew about the 4 amusement parks vs. the 6 European ones.
  11. You are confusing investors and creditors. The creditors have been making money ever since they started lending to Six Flags, through interest payments. I guess you could call them investors, but they are really just lending money. Regular stockholders are the real investors (as they own a share of the company) and they have not made money since the stock price has mostly sank in recent years.
  12. Agreed - expanding within Europe is a more logical step, but if the price is right you never know.
  13. ^They still have one of those craptacular simulators at Dutch Wonderland.
  14. E-mail Dan >>>>>>>> ask Eric a question no offense Eric!
  15. ^I have no idea if Efteling would be interested in keeping the animals but if they were to buy BGA also and remove the animals that could create a lot of walking paths. I know In-Bru would prefer to sell all parks as a whole, but if they can get the two largest parks off their hands for a big monetray return they may have to rethink their position.
  16. When I saw that article last night the first thing that came to mind was Busch Gardens. Williamsburg in particular. I can't see Efteling expanding in the US with a park as small as Gilroy Gardens. Any Six Flags or CF park would entail too much investment in the landscaping/infratsructure, outside of maybe Great Escape
  17. Send a PM to RavenMaven, she is the Public Relations contact for the park.
  18. 20 Ounce bottle of Vanilla Coke for $1.60
  19. ^I already added that one to the Park Index.
  20. thanks Tomi - I finally have enough photos to add your home park to TPR's Park Index
  21. Marvin Acme I can't believe ToonTown was almost destroyed.
  22. The TPR pen is both durable and adorable, a true coup in the writing implement universe. I get paid for all my work on TPR's Park Index in TPR pens. It is awesome.
  23. I'm an eternal pessimist and if I like traditional rides it is only because they are run better sometimes. On my first trip to Knoebels I completely expected to poo poo the place afterwards but I was blown away because they know how to run their old flats. Except the Whip which is "dead" to me, you can ring that little traditional bell all you want but that don't help the ride..
  24. Sea Odessey at Port Aventura has the great safety video that is much better than the actual simulator.
  25. I really like the Bizarro take (how he was always emulating Superman) and hope that Six Flags plays it up properly. I have always felt SF should do more with the DC licensing beyond mainly Batman and Superman themselves. My only concern is that Bizarro is known for failing in his attempts, he better not mess up S:ROS
