24 Hour Theme Park?
larrygator replied to Emiroo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No, not feasible. Stupid idea. Amusement parks are a business, if they don't make money they won't exist for long. Having a business open when few customers ae likely to attend is bad for business. -
Well this shareholder is kicking himself. ^The Paramount Parks are better money makers because they are in larger markets and/or have longer operating seasons. Cedar Fair certainly overpaid for the Paramount properties. I'm just surpirsed Michigan's Adventure is not included with Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun.

This is a perfectly acceptable thread, provided that it remains a guessing game and not a random picture thread. ^Scott - sorry to hear you have vasocongestion

Not surprising, nor is it surprising how 3 different sources can report 3 varying headlines from the same PR release. Cedar Fair Entertainment puts Worlds of Fun up for sale (bizjournals.com) Cedar Fair exploring sale of parks in Mo., Minn. (AP) Cedar Fair to sell excess lands (Reuters) From what I have been able to gather, this is not a fire sale, but if the properties can fetch a good price the posiibility of a sale will be considered. However, market conditions could cause a fire sale in the future.

I wouldn't go as far as to tout it's magical qualities (unless increasing cholesterol counts) but I love bacon. Maple Bacon rules.

Damn, I never got a home cooked meal at Casa de Campbell! But Chuck took me to Pierce's Pitt, so it's all cool. Glad to hear that there have been no additional problems with Norm.

Erik - Did you notice a higher percentage of employees being older than high school/college age? I know you are used to this at Dollywood, but I have a feeling that the economy will bring more older employees into the parks this year. -

For those of you not too busy trying to guess where Robb, Elissa and the Jew are, I bring to you more photos from my childhood. My family remains in Upstate New York, visiting a small theme park called Santa's Workshop. The owners of the park filed to have their park designated as a new town called North Pole, New York with it's own post office and zip code. The park is still in existence today with a coaster that was not there when I visited in 1974. The park may not look like much by today's standards but these types of parks were just as enjoyable as Disney to a 7 year old. Ooh at Disney you can get a beanie with two plastic things stapled to it and look like a mouse. At Santa's Workshop you get pimped out in authentic Santa Christmas Hats made by real elves. My father's photography skills have improved greatly since upgrading from the Polaroid to the Kodak 104 Instamatic, but this Bobsled ride just moves too fast. Certainly better than "If I had Wings" at Disney. Of course Disney would try to one up Santa's Workshop 30 some odd years later with Animal Kingdom. But does Disney have killer goats? I don't think so! This is how an animal feeds sheepishly. You got that Disney, real animals. My Sister says. "Dumbo can bite it, I'm in a freaking turtle." Come on Dumbo, bring it on. Oh really Disney? You have a guy dressed in a mouse costume. We got a real f'n reindeer. Yes, Chris that's a real reindeer. Screw you and your fake castle Disney. We are the North Pole and have a REAL post office to prove it. -
Route 66 - has anyone gone back and listened to the songs. Kicks could equal kangaroos. 66 is also the combined age of Robb and Elissa. 1066 is the year that William the Conquerer invaded England from France. 1066 is also the year of the Boxer Rebellion (China) according to JJ Walker on Robb's all-time favorite sitcom, "Good Times." They could be anywhere.

Most of this will be highway driving at 65MPH. Therefore, 340/65 equals about 5 hours and 14 minutes. However, this could vary when you factor in stopping for food, bathroom breaks and gas. Since I do not know of your food preference, bladder control and gas mileage it would be difficult to give you an accurate time. Stopping for fast food should add 13.5 minutes to your time, if you eat in the car while driving. If you sit down in the fast food place you should add 24 minutes. Unless you are large and eat a lot of food in which case add another 7 minutes. If you decide to eat at a sit down place like Cracker Barrel, add 49 minutes to your time, adjust that to 68 minutes if you have an appetizer and desert. If you stop once for a bathroom break you should add 11 minutes for each stop if only number 1, for number 2 add another 6 minutes. If you think you will need to stop more than once add the time for each break in. You can save 30 seconds on each bathroom break by not washing your hands if you are running late. You might be able to make it the full distance if you have a full tank before leaving BGW. However, if not and you need to stop once, add 13 minutes to your time. Factor in an additional minute and a half if you use cash instead of a credit card. Another 15 seconds if you don't have exact change. Now if you combine many of these actions into one stop there will be efficiencies gained. For example, you can stop at a gas station, use their restroom and buy snacks for the road. In that case, one stop would only add 17 minutes to your trip time. Provided the clerk behind the counter is not too slow, otherwise add another 2 minutes. Also remember to add another 6 minute for number 2 in the restroom, although it would only be 5.5 minutes if you don't wash your hands. However, be aware that if you stop too early into the trip, you might have to make an additional bathroom break later on so factor that time in accordingly. Good luck.

^Throw in Jack and you got more than a triangle. How the hell are Sawyer and Jin going to keep Hurley, Jack and Kate hidden from the others and Dharma? Probably not very well. I guess we are to assume that Jin is the mystery woman that disappeared with Lapedis, but where is Sayid. This woman that had him in custody doesn't seem too concerned that he is not around.
