The dark side of Dubai
larrygator replied to Zero One's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm sorry, but calling the area uncivilized is just... wrong. Many countries were like this at one point in time including the US and the UK. And at that "point in time" the US and the UK were uncivilized. I don't think the uncivilized comment was only regarding the "foreign workers" but also lack of rights for some groups of people. dubaidave - thanks for posting but I am shocked that this is a surprise to so many since I thought a lot of this was common knowledge. At least I remember reading about a lot of this before. -

^It didn't stop me today me either, but I paid for it afterwards. -
^I'll admit I thought about doing that at Sesame Place, but I also would have bought something for my niece while I was there. Then when I finally bought a Busch pass last year I didn't have to worry about it, but I still felt like a freak going to the park just to ride Vapor Trail.

So my game plan this morning was to go to SFGAdv after church. However, it was fairly cold and windy so I decided to crash my friends' Easter dinner. His wife made traditional Easter Meat Pie, which contained both fresh Mozzarella and Pecorino Romano cheese. Yummy Yummy Cheese -

Are parks allowed to lower their prices mid-season after prices have been published on their website. -

And remember kids one doesn't always have to complain like a madman, displeasure can be expressed without screaming and yelling. -

^Employees are paid by the hour, so they will get paid for the hours they work. Who said this is "routine"? Elissa (and anyone else who has been going to parks for decades) has seen it before but not often. With SFGAdv as my home park, I can tell you I never try to go to the park in the rain in April. In May and June if it rains I'll head to the park, but the combo of rain and cold weather does not make for a pleasant experience. I couple of years ago I did the opposite and drove up to SFNE on a rainy day and the whole drive I knew what I was getting into with the possible closure of major rides or even the park. I took a chance and get lucky that it cleared up by 11:30. Now the original poster said he called the park halfway through his trip to see if the park was open. This was a good move, but you have to remember he was talking to the park around an hour before opening, they had no way to predict the crowds. Also, it doesn't matter what they told you at the parking booth, you should have requested a refund for parking at guest relations. -
Did anyone read the article posted a few pages back? The Freestyle name comes from the Russian partners who are developing a park in Russia under that banner. So as someone (packfanlv or Robb) pointed to a couple of pages back with Chinese naming conventions, "lost in translation" also plays a part in this name.

That field in between the two sides of the park looks like the perfect spot for a woodie in the future. Great photos as usual Hanno, most have been uploaded into the Park Index. I also looked through your website of photos and sent you a PM suggesting other photos that people might enjoy. -
www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/ ^^I can't comment on international travelers (although the website is in 7 langauges), but Myrtle Beach is a popular destination for golfers and beach goers. Since you have plenty of beaches in Southern California, you family probably wouldn't consider traveling 2,500 for a beachfront vacation. Fact: Myrtle Beach gets close to 15 million visitors a year There are other seaside towns in this country with a lot less visitors that can still sustain a park. The question is: are the Myrtle Beach visitors willing to support this park.

The island sems to have a soft spot for children (once they are born). Alex - although taken from her mother, probably had a much better chance surviving her early years with the others Ethan - somehow survived the purge Walt - island thought he was special Ben - taken in by Richard Penny and Desmond's kid - although the kid was never on island saved Ben from shooting Penny. The whole smoke monster/Ben scene was well done. Oh and I loved Desmond beating the crap out of Ben.
