Unique SkyRoller-Ride for Belantis, Germany
larrygator replied to Kooky's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That Youtube video is great. Too bad the park (which also had a Gertslauer bobsled) is not closer too any of the larger German parks. -
SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't undersatnd why so many people posting in this thread are confused about the lawsuit. FACT: Six Flags signed a contract to lease the land where SFNO sits and run a amusement park for a set numbers of years. FACT: Six Flags is not fulfilling their end of the contract. FUZZY FACT: City of New Orleans wants Six Flags to re-open the park and/or pay a penalty (assumed to be a subtantial cash penalty) for breach of contract. Now it is up to the courts and lawyers to determine if the conditions created in the marketplace with Katrina's aftermath absolve Six Flags of their contract. I'm not a lawyer nor privy to the contract signed, but as with most legal cases involving business contracts nothing is cut and dry. -
TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index

Matteo - thanks Nosferatu - Walibi sold the park and it now has a new name. Just like Six Flags Holland and Belgium are now Walibi World and Belgium. -

Magnum XL-200 First Rider Auction
larrygator replied to CPmaverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What are you going to tell us next? That the construction/engineering crew that builds a new coaster rides it before the public. Thanks for the keen insight! Or all managers, every employee and there mom and executives like some snake nearby.... "Say it ain't so" -
TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index
larrygator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Turns out when looking at a park the list of rides with photos was getting too big and it was difficult for many to glance at the Park Index and quickly see a list of coasters at each park. Rides with photos are now separated into two areas: 1 - Coaster Photos 2 - Other Ride Photos The developers are working on making the layout more user friendly (this will happen real soon) so the other ride photo links will directly follow the coaster photos links on each park's homepage. -

^Famous Dave's is only a one minute walk from the side entrance behind the bumper cars and going at 2PM you can get a table quickly. It's closer to all of the major rides than the retaurants at the Breakers like TGIFridays. Even closer to Millennium Force than the Midway Market. Last time I was at CP my family (three adults/one kid) was in and out of Famous Dave's quicker than the Midway Market buffet. Then again my sister and neice keep going back and forth to get more food. Reagrding zoos I have a friend who is into zoos and he really liked the Columbus Zoo, plus they have a wood coaster at Jungle Jacks right next door.

^"On time" is a relative term since this was originally scheduled to open in 2008. -
Regarding Thorpe, that gives you enough time to get to the park, get on 2-3 rides and then head back. Choose Chessington for the quality time.

I used to spell my name with only one r during my time in college. I used less ink and the money I saved with fewer pens offset the high cost of bread in Florida.

Midway Market food is average. For lunch I generally eat a little later 2PM and head to the Marina right outside the park for Famous Dave's BBQ. I little pricy but I love the food.

Disney rides at non-Disney parks? (what if)

Bad idea to start a thread at 5AM. Pointless and locked. -

Also remember your PTR does not have to be all coasters, showing a variety of rides at the park really helps people get a feel for the place. There are plenty of fanboys out there for all types of rides: RapidsNerd likes Rapid Rides, CTUAgent (Thai) loves Enterprises, I love Spinning Tea Cups and Condors, and everyone knows Robb loves Tilt-A-Whirls and Spinning Dragons. I know there are closet Looping Starship, Drop Tower and Chair Swing fanboys and girls out there, too. -
Cowabunga Bay waterpark
larrygator replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I seem to remember Clementon selling season passes for $129 a year with the old owners and being quite successful. They are pretty much a glorified waterpark. Wristband solution, you don't haglgle with the customer if they get ready to go down a slide 10 minutes after the time limit. The ride attendant cuts the wristband, says have a nice ride and come back soon. -
I'm sure it means something to a member of the tribe. If you an outsider who has to be taught the meaning of a symbol/design, then it never had any meaning beforehand.

You don't remember the stories of Jesse James, Billy the Kid and "Medusa" causing havoc throughout the Wild West? Even though Bizarro won't quite fit in with the Western theme, if this is about him trying to emulate and copy Superman, I could at least give Six Flags a pass. Or maybe in the future they retheme the flume to Aquaman and Runaway Train to some other DC Comic character and then you won't even have a Western area anymore.
