Shane's Amusement Attic

^^Yes, Mark - but at other parks they didn't have an Opryland logo. This series is just so entertaining and informative to watch. When did it originally air? -

Erik & Misty - you guys did a great job until Erik did his Rocky Top rendition. Lucky for me he waited til the end of this utterly enjoyable thread, because this thread is now DEAD TO ME! Good luck in Florida! -

The park is south of Oslo. The area around Tusenfryd, including in the park itself, is quite hilly. -
Where are the Disney Special Offers?

Just signed up for a shore cleaning job in New Jersey, still waiting for the final date to be determined. I hope it is before the season starts as I really don't want to be dragging the characters from "Jersey Shore" off the beach and cleaning up after them. -
Shane's Amusement Attic

Great stuff as always Shane. My family almost took a long side trip when visiting my cousin stationed at Fort Campbell in 1980 (we went to Monmouth Caves instead) I remember the days when most amusement parks (including Magic Knigdom) had those fruit shaped drink containers. Ah the good old days! -
Andy Shine's Quiz Time

15/20 - but I protest the Flying Fish answer. The wording of the question made me choose the longest continuously operating coaster in the park. -
Paultons Park Needs Your Help

I made a similar comment and also a comment about how more thrilling rides at the park will keep patrons in the area and keep their amusement dollars in the community. -
If the insurance companies were that involved, they would demand restraints or a height restriction on the Log Jammer. I don't know when all the other roller skaters where installed in California, but I initially thought there might have been a law change where the old roller skaters were grandfathered in at a lower minimum. But if Jay Thomas is trying to get it changed, that's not the case. It would have been very easy for SFMM to come right out and say it's 42 inches because the State of California now mandates it if there had been a law change.

Penn State-Summer Trip

My suggestion. Since you have already decided not to get on the road early, take your time on the 13th after you check out of the hotel and get a good cheesesteak. Then plan to arrive at Hersheypark in order to use their preview plan. You can get into the park that night for free if you buy an admission ticket for the next day. So get to Hersheypark 3 hours before it closes on the 13th and visit the Chocolate World Ride (which is free and located right outside the front gate) first. The next morning (show your parking pass from the 13th and parking is free) spend the whole day at Hersheypark. Even though it is a little bit of back tracking on driving I would go the Dorney on the 15th (Thursday) instead of Friday. And go to Knoebels on the 16th. For hotels the only recommendation is to use hotwire.com (or similar) site for someplace near Hershey as the area is not the cheaper place to find a good hotel. I ended up in a very nice Doubletree about 15-20 miles away a couple of years ago for only $60. -
I love the fact that right above the height restrictions on the website it says: A new family ride, Mr. Six's DanceCoaster, is coming on Memorial Weekend, bringing the coaster count to 17! Based on our dancing mascot of fun, this is the perfect coaster for parents and children to enjoy together. So much for a perfect coaster for many families to enjoy together.

Jay - In Sin City you are SOL! Although "Vegan in Vegas" sounds like a good name for a band. This might be helpful for places on the Strip

CEO of Cedar Fair. Enthusiasts like to make fun of Dick Kinzel because on his watch CF has: removed many classic rides, installed lots of garbage cans, used a lot of generic/uninventive names for coasters and many other infractions that are as heinous as the Spanish Inquisition to finicky enthusiasts.

If you're thinking then you haven't had enough.

EDIT: correction it appears that the former Radisson (right next the KBF, don't need to even cross a street) is now referred to as Knotts Berry Farm Resort Hotel on the KBF website. Legoland Billund

Barclaycard Rollercoaster Advert
larrygator replied to Shockwave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not sure if Barclays had an advertising spokesman the past couple of years, but Samuel L Jackson used to be their spokesmen and was paid a hefty amount to shill for Barclays. You cut out the high priced pitchmen and you can commit more dollars to production. There is a certain cost of entry to create a high quality television ad to begin with so in many instances the additional production costs for effects are not a relatively insane add-on cost from a percentage standpoint.
