So, is this a new park? I'm familiar with the "Happy" Valley park chain. Did "Happy" get changed to "Knight" in translation? Through Google I found a Knight Valley in Shenzhen, but is that the same as Happy Valley Shenzhen? Just hoping that Robb (or one of the GCI guys reading this) can shed some light.

Would it be accurate to assume that if the deal DOES miraculously go through and the company is turned private under Apollo that her position would no longer exist? That exact position would no longer exist but that doesn't mean she would not end up in a new role at the new company. For an outsider it is hard to determine what positions/personnel will be eliminated in a merger/takeover scenario. From a personal standpoint, I had to speak with Cedar Fair investor relations a couple of years ago and Stacy was very courteous and quick in returning my e-mail and providing the information I needed.

^So you are saying the electromagnetic core on the island is the spacecraft's power source. I like the theory! Not as much as I like Kate, but I like the theory.

Are you sure you're not confusing this with Santa's Workshop in Upstate New York? http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=711072#p711072 -
I never really thought about the fate of River Country. I just assumed it had been rethemed into the current water park. I had no idea it was abandoned. That is the first major water park I ever visited. I'm pretty sure those pesky lake parasites did claim a couple of lives at River Country. Or is this just an urban myth.

Based simply on the topography I thought of Terra Mitica, as someone mentioned. However, I think it is illegal to build a quality woodie in Spain. -

ragerunner - I edited your post by uploading all your photos to the TPR server so that I could add it to TPR's Park Index. Thanks for showing our members another small family park. -
^Sorry Ed, but I love Kate. I can not feel differently about Evangeline Lilly, until she ends up on Celebrity Fit Club.

top 10 coasters poll
larrygator replied to Brandon4579's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This will be a much better hobby, when enthusiasts stop stressing about polls like this. There is one Top 10 list that matters to me and that is my list. There is one Top 10 list that should matter to you and that is your list. There is only one poll that is all inclusive and doesn't reward a coaster just because more people have ridden it and that is Mitch's Poll. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

I have no problems with new coasters opening after opening day. Many parks have Halloween events and in some cases minimize construction until after the Halloween events. In the cold weather environments that doesn't leave as much time to build. I remember waiting those two months for El Toro to be completed after going on opening day, it created huge anticipation amongst the general public. Enthusiasts were already pumped for it since it was an Intamin pre-fab, but the public just saw this huge wooden structure growing in front of them and got excited about it opening. -

Because some people don't have an actual life. -
My gripe isn't that they used an existing venue. I agree why waste money just for the sake of it. I just would have preferred a toned down spectacular that was outdoors. Lillehammer was about to do this in their ski jumping venue. Granted the King of Norway messed things up by allowing all Norwegians in for free at the last minute and cramming 70,000 people into a stadium meant to fit 25,000.

OK, so I just turned on the opening ceremonies. Are they indoors? If so, LAME! EDIT: I just confirmed they are indoors. LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^Remember Ethan was born on the island, so that wouldn't change if this "Flash-Sideways" is actually is showing what happens if the plane never landed. i.e.: Ethan just left the island at some point in time via the sub and never returned. As far as the island being underwater, TV Guide has an explaination that it sunk in 1977 with the explosion in the alternative storyline. Time travel and alternative time lines just confuse the hell out of me!

I heard of a cruise ship out of Davonia that allows such actions. Ah, Larry, but you forget that to become a resident of Davonia, you must pass an extensive screening process, which includes making sure you're not an idiot. So that activity is out. However, the Davonia cruise line will offer plenty of fun activities, like Death Metal Karaoke and Gators Vs. Babies: Live on the Promenade Deck... dt I was looking at it as the new Roman Colesseum andthinking you may have candidates as: 1 - Someone might slip through the screening process. 2 - Two perfectly normal humans could produce stupid offspring. 3 - Side cottage industry for Davonia. Other countries pay you to accept their idiots, and you dispose of them as entertainment.

Even though I've been to the Winter Olympics once, I've never really been a fan of the sports. I prefer summer, although I do want to make it to Lake Placid one day to do the Skeleton and Bobsled runs during the winter. It even operates during the summer but what fun would that be- http://www.orda.org/newsite/todo/summer/bobsled.php
