  1. Sorry for misinterpreting your comment. Your choice of "on the other hand" made it appear you were stating something that was exlusive to MJ. I think people are much more curious in seeing the excess' of famous entertainers such as Graceland or Neverland Ranch versus their humble beginnings. That's the reason I don't think will fly.
  2. Locals are certainly going to be the determining factor in the success of a Legoland Park on the CG site. The park might be able to pull some people away from Orlando, but not enough to support the park. They will need to offer something that is not available elsewhere in Florida. I'm just speculating here but a single gate water park/theme park with a quality brand behind it might work. The challenge is that Legoland tickets/season passes are not cheap, so they won't be able to play up the park as a budget conscious alternative.
  3. I'll focus on just Elvis as this sounds closer to Graceland in theory. So, you don't think Elvis fans are maniacal. International visitors do trek to Graceland. I haven't seen a skydiving team of people impersonating MJ. I haven't seen conventions of Elvis impersonators. Saying Elvis fans are not maniacal is ridiculuos. For the record, I'm not an Elvis fan' but would stop and see Graceland if in the area.
  4. Please provide a status of who comes down with Montezuma's Revenge after having ice cubes in the drinks in Mexico.
  5. Damn the Moderators around here don't know anything! Thanks for pointing that out Joe, I stand corrected.
  6. ^None, you are mistaken. Robb never said there would be a discount on TPR Trips for joining the club.
  7. Another day, another lawsuit. The Germans want in on the action. BMW suing Freestyle Music Park
  8. All this tells you is who the real dorks are, but still fun. Steel = 298 Wood = 302 I tried to add Robb's since I think I know where he has been and I'm guessing he nets out around: Steel = 369 Wood = 378
  9. I know it wasn't clear in the attached article. The goal is to build the complex in stages: Phase 1: Museum/Art Center Phase 2: Hotel Phase 3: Golf Course Phase 4: Theme Park (that is 10 years down the road). Just in time for KidTums Sweet Sixteen Bash So you all have plenty of time to speculate!
  10. Brad - As a moderator on the site, we at TPR demand that all members use proper capitalization. Please keep that in mind in future posts.
  11. ^, ^^ and ^^^ thank you Progressing on to the next phase of this project and will soon post a more comprehensive list of needs for many of the European parks.
  12. Oh the irony, using a vision of death to make an area feel alive.
  13. This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Lightwater Valley, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. This comes on the heels of the closing of Rat Ride. Information on Raptor Attack is limited, so it is not known if this will be a new coaster or a retheme. What is known is that the park is getting an upgrade in the thrill area with the addition of a Top Scan to be named Whirlwind.
  14. ^Thanks, beggars can't be choosers. ^^Thank you CGA_88
  15. ^Thanks, since the park has only been closed for a couple of years, Erieview will be added to the Park Index. I know Conneaut bought the Fright Zone and hopefully Conneaut can turn it around and the Fright Zone can be restored. You don't have a picture of The Brat do you? Thanks again
  16. ^OK, I'll correct that, thanks for pointing out
  17. ^Thanks added most of them. FYI - I also just sent you a PM about some of your local parks
  18. ^Agreed it is possible with "lego-like" pieces, but not actual blocks as dinnbydeath questioned. If the whole floatation device is made of lego-like pieces, I suspect the pieces would have to be made out of a foam-like material to float. I can't imagine sitting in/on a mold injected piece of plastic to be comfortable as it would not have the give of foam or rubber.
  19. Thanks for the quick response so far to those that sent in pictures in this thread and through the Park Index. About 30 new photos of 15 different rides have been added with your help.
  20. Customize, not build. It will probably include choosing the color and minor lego attachment to the tube. A tube made out of lego blocks would not float!
  21. ^^ and ^ thanks for the pictures and info. I will add the photos and update the list of what is needed.
  22. The focus is now going to be on obtaining ride photos for rides that are missing in the index. If the Park Index is lacking a ride sign, we would still like it, but the focus for now is on a more complete ride list. In the past couple of weeks hundreds of photos have been added for rides that not previously been in the Park Index. Hopefully, this is helpful for everyone in researching for this year's travels. Below is a list of rides that are known to be missing in the Park Index, if you have photos feel free to submit them, or if the ride is still on the list when you travel to the park feel free to take a picture and submit it. The best way to submit a ride photo through the Park Index link: Within the TPR Park Index there is a link at the bottom of each page that says: Click here to contribute your trip report or ride photos to Theme Park Review Or is you want to download a photo into this thread that is fine also. Remember photos must be .jpg should not exceed 800x600 (Unfortunately, many people have submitted photos that are too large for TPR to use or in pdf form.) High quality photos (not blurry, distorted or out of focus). Lastly, we are not adding kiddie rides or major upcharges at this time, but we are at the point where family rides such: transportation rides, carousels, ferris wheels and bumper cars are being added. And if you have to ability to scan your park maps, feel free to submit those for the years that all not already in the Park Index. Hundreds have been downloaded over the past 3 weeks. Of course any PTRs containing superior photos or entertaining captions and a variety of pictures including multiple rides and areas. (Not just one or two rides/attractions) are always valued. Attention has been given to every previously submitted PTR, also and don't feel discouraged if we can't include every one. PTRs should be downloaded onto the Theme Park Review server (not Imageshack, photobucket) that way we know a Red X will never appear to be added to the Park Index. So here is a list of what we know we needed, if you have photos of a different ride that is not in TPR's Park Index, please submit that also. 23. Sounds about right. I don't recall any problems with Goliath, it's an excellent coaster. As far as X2. X used to be in my Top 10. This year I rode X2 and I placed it somewhere in the 70-80 range. I no longer enjoy being abused on steel coasters.
  24. Clark's Trading Post is such a quirky little place. I choose to go here on a side trip to Canobie and Funtown Splashtown instead of a choice of smaller New Hampshire parks that had family/kiddie credits. I throroughly enjoyed my 4 hours at Clark's. Besides the Bear Show, they have a Train Ride into the mountains with a cheesy character scaring the train riders, a well themed Mad House and a Tilt House with energetic hosts. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from the park. Their homemade fudge is awesome.
