If I'm ever go to the UK this is one of the places I'm definitely going to visit; BPB is just so different from other parks. Toilet Disinfectant: The Ride

Looks nice. Kinda reminds me of the Exterminator at Kennywood. Very nice theming for SF. Hopefully they'll theme their future attractions as well as this, but I somewhat doubtful. -

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
Kennyweird replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I completely agree with what everyone is saying here, this sale does open a lot of possibilities for Kennywood, and since the current management will stay the same, the park should retain it's traditional feel. However, what I'm concerned about is what happens far in the future when all those people on management retire. Who's PR going to put in to replace them, Pittsburgh locals who grew up with and understand Kennywood, or are they going to put in their own people, people who don't know anything about Kennywood and its traditions? -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

One of my friends claimed that the Thunderbolt at Kennywood uses magnetic propulsion. I've heard people say some really far out things regarding roller coasters before, but this one takes the cake. -

NO!!!! The shareholders have approved the sale. Kennywood Shareholders OK sale to Spanish Company - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review I guess the only thing we can do now is hope that Parques Reunidos really does share Kennywood Entertainment's philosophy on how to run a park. -
A screenshot I took while I was flying a 747 out of Princess Juliana International in Flight Simulator X. I forgot that it's impossible to safely take off from Princess Juliana Intl. in a 747 with full fuel tanks; the runway simply isn't long enough for a fully laden 747 (However, a partially fueled 747 is perfectly fine.). This screenshot shows just how close I was to disaster. ^Here's what the airport looks like in real life. THIS IS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED!! DUCK!!

Horrible Park Operations
Kennyweird replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The worst park operations I ever encountered was at the now defunct SFWOA (aka Geauga Lake). First off, the park did not have a family friendly atmosphere at all, instead it had a "We have deep management/financial issues" feel to it. This became apparent when I ordered a pizza from some food place in the Gotham City themed area. I had to wait 30 minutes for them to cook what turned out to be the worst pizza I've ever had. 30 minutes for a freaking pizza that sucked! Crappy management like this was no doubt one of the contributing factors in the closing of Geauga Lake. Thanks, Six Flags and Cedar Fair, thanks for killing Geauga Lake with your craptacular management. -

DID YOU KNOW?
Kennyweird replied to coasterfreak81's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did you know that Kennywood's employees (Andy Quinn told me this) refer to the volcano valley area as "Puke Plaza"? Did you know that Vekoma started out as a manufacturer of mining equipment? -

That Sunway Lagoon Park looks really nice, especially when you consider that it's in Vietnam. Cool TR, I never even knew these parks existed until now. -

DAFE always votes this thing as their favorite dark ride. These old pretzel-style dark rides are getting harder and harder to come by, I'm afraid. Nice TR. Originally, I was going to try to do Hershey and Knoebel's this summer as one giant trip, but due to time constraints I'll only be able to go to Hershey, which is sad because I've heard Knoebel's is a great park . -

You can't guarantee that. Actually, New Orleans is doomed to get hit with another major storm, we just can't predict when. Possibly in 100 years, possibly in 10 years, maybe even this year. Who knows, it could even be worse than Katrina. -

DelGrossos and Lakemont
Kennyweird replied to BRTeller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice TR! I'm planning on doing Lakemont and Delgrosso's as a day trip this summer (You can do both parks all in the same day, right?), so it's nice to see some more pictures of these parks before I visit. -

Keep your ears peeled. This is supposedly the week that Kennywood announces if the sale went through or not. -
First of all, it doesn't flow well, it' way too broad, and it doesn't follow the criteria for a research paper. Not only that, you mention things but fail to elaborate on them; most people have no idea what an Immelmann loop is or what the difference is between an in-line twist and a heartline roll. Finally, you used way too many "umbrella" words (words like get/got, nice, wonderful, bad, good, thing, etc.). In conclusion, I give it an F, and so would my English teacher.

Long defunct parks...what is left of them?
Kennyweird replied to cathyJ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's a defunct park out in Medina, Ohio named Chippewa Lake Park. Here's a link to an article I found about it: www.defunctparks.com/parks/OH/ChippewaLake/chippewa-lake.htm This is probably one of the best examples of a defunct park that is still standing. -
