  1. ^ Nice ride. Obviously not of the caliber of Expedition Everest, but still, a nicely themed Vekoma Mine train.
  2. Who the **** tried to spam the site a few minutes ago?! You know, that's something I can't stand, spam and spammers trying to solicit porn on a well-to-do website. Thank you Robb for getting rid of that crap!
  3. ^ From what I can tell yes. The bottom space appears to be for the queue with stairs leading up to the loading/unloading area. I think this is how it will work.
  4. Or a lamer ride. I remember going to Geauga Lake (at the time SFWOA) when I was still afraid to ride roller coasters (scary thought). I'm still kicking myself in the @$$ for missing out on rides like Dominator (at the time Batman Knight Flight) and such. Oh well, at least KD isn't that far...
  5. Cool, my pics of Ghostwood Estate ended up on Screamscape! (After emailing Screamscape, of course!)
  6. Is it just me or are those trains like, kinda small?
  7. Those photos are awesome! It's really weird to look back and see how different Cedar Point was from the one we now know and love(?).
  8. ^^ So it is Dive Machine track! Whew, that's a relief! For a second there I was actually beginning to think that this was for Seaworld Orlando!
  9. ^ Pee or take a dump down the elevator shaft, hmmm... at least it won't stink in the elevator car. I hope they cleaned it up afterwards.
  10. You pretty much answered your own question. Also, the back of the Lost Kennywood entrance is kind of an obscure location; I mean, I myself rarely look up at it as I leave. As a result, I guess park management decided to put it in a place that was both readily visible and made sense.
  11. Idlewild still has their whip, right?
  12. I wonder how he went to the bathroom. I also wonder if he got dehydrated.
  13. My homepark is Kennywood. The best roller coaster in the park is The Phantom's Revenge.
  14. ^ Yes, I do have a school day, but I'm with Gateway so mine is on the 17th, unless that's what you meant.
  15. Did you hear that from Kennywood Insider?
  16. "It's time for tasteball!" - Homsar
  17. All right everybody! I just got back from the Kennywood tour and have some things to tell you. First, you will be delighted to hear that I was allowed to take pictures of Ghostwood Estate (apparently the whole "no pictures" thing was just a rumor). Second, I have some news on the pending sale to Parques Reunidos. Andy Quinn (our tour guide) told me that we should expect some word on the sale sometime in the first half of May, I think he said something like the 14th or somewhere around there. At any rate, on to the mini photo TR. It's kinda weird to be in an amusement park without the noise of people all around you. The Goodnight heart in its new location above the entrance/exit tunnel. The Phantom's lift hill is silent, but only for a little while longer. Ghostwood Estate from Noah's Ark. Note how tall the facade is. Yep, it's Ghostwood Estate! The Aero 360's signage is in pieces.
  18. ^ Still, highly unlikely it would have worked; scary, but highly unlikely.
  19. ^ Agreed. Theming can take an unremarkable coaster, like a Mack, and turn it into an awesome ride. It's a shame this happened, but like others mentioned, it leaves room for something unique at SFNE.
  20. I went with Magnum; you just can't beat a classic! MF is my second pick, Maverick my third, and TTD my fourth.
  21. I dreamed I was in a large helicopter that was perched precariously atop some kind of rock spire - I woke up just as the helicopter began to fall off.
  22. ^^ I don't even know if the trains are assembled! It could be that this testing business was just a wild rumor.
  23. The only roller coaster I ever felt truly unsafe on was the Anaconda at KD. My OTSR was fairly loose and wouldn't pull down any further, and as I was going up the lift hill I realized that I could easily slip out if I wanted to, which made me wonder what would happen if someone stupid actually decided to worm their way out of it.
  24. A ~100% meat diet deviates far from standard dietary guidelines. You can't get the recommended 20-25 g/day of fiber by eating only meat. Fruits & vegetables also contain antioxidants that you can't get from meat. So, yeah you could live off of meat alone, but you'd be putting yourself at increased risk of cancer and heart disease and probably some other nasty disease states. I was referring to the Inuits of the north. They live on a diet which consists of primarily meat and the very occasional plant. Despite thier diet they somehow manage to get the nutrients they need to stay healthy. This has to do with the unique makeup of the whale and seal meat they eat, which contains vitamin C and other nutrients typically not associated with or found in meat. But in general, you are right, a balanced diet is definitely the way to go if you want to remain healthy.
