I'd say lifts do but I wouldn't count time on the brake run.

I found Wolverine Wildcat perfectly smooth. There was some air. Obviously there could have been more considering its layout tries to copy the Phoenix though.

I know, it's a real shocker. The backup ride for early entry (Tennessee Tornado) is unfortunately down as well at the moment. Edit- Tornado just opened.

Lightning Rod is listed as closed on the park information board outside the park.

I tried the new mountain coaster at Rowdy Bear Mountain in Gatlinburg. The interior and exterior of the building still need a lot of work but the coaster has been operational since yesterday. The coaster is pretty fast and glass smooth, but this is the shortest mountain coaster I've ridden. The double helix finale is nice but that's half the layout right there. Overall I'd say its the fourth best in the area. It's far behind Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster and Goats on the Roof, just a notch behind Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster, and maybe a tad better than Ober Gatlinburg's.

Maybe they did their testing and just need to get it rechecked by the state? Based on what I saw yesterday, they were able to get the trains out quickly and consistently.

That room surprised me as well. I stood there confused for a minute or so. I think I realize how that gag works but it's cool nonetheless.

I think we've had a hunch Lightning Rod wouldn't open this weekend and this is another sign. Lightning Rod, as of yesterday, was listed as the ride for Saturday morning's season pass holder ERT. I noticed today it was changed to Tennessee Tornado. As of today As of yesterday

Based on what I'm seeing today, I think you should be good in 3 weeks. I'm hopeful they'll get it running by Tuesday but I'm not too sure how lucky I'll be.

Yes. Yesterday I believe only one train was full so this seems like progress if I can be optimistic.

It wouldn't be that much different than the regular vs. gold flash pass levels at Six Flags. One could get you on faster.

If I tried that, I'd fail horrifically and if I did somehow start gliding, no way I'd stick the landing like him. Very impressive!

I think the number of rides that went down for maintenance added to how terrifying it is. Yes that's the gag I'm referring to. I was purposefully vague so anyone visiting in the first time won't have it spoiled.

Your experience and excitement driving down the peninsula sounds like how I felt. I just wanted to make sure I didn't drive off into the water.

I haven't noticed the drivers down here being that bad, but then again I'm from Massachusetts where we pride ourselves in being Massholes on the road. Everyone I've seen down here doesn't go 20 over the speed limit, change lanes without blinkers, or play games of chicken at merges/stops.

Great report! I've always heard good things about Adventureland but it's a bit out of the way for me. I didn't realize the Sky Ride went right through the Monster. That must give some really interesting viewing angles.

I know it had a really hard time running in the cold. I'd say they're worried about heat but this seems to run fine in California where the weather is warmer. Maybe it's staffing or capacity then?

I agree the park was a lot of fun, but it's disappointing knowing they could have been so much better. Haha the water park sounds about right after experiencing the ride park. I thought the speed slides I saw looked really awkward. A bit late on this one but the original yellow topper was damaged by a winter storm; it was starting to look pretty faded, anyway. It's been replaced by a new blue topper now that looks quite a bit nicer, IMO. I should have thought to snap a picture, but I'm sure someone will get one soon enough. It did look cool being naked for a while but I'm glad they got a new topper.

Thanks for the report! I had no idea this park even existed. It's always good to know there's another carousel with brass rings out there. I just wish this park wasn't so far off the beaten path as I'd love to visit it.

Awesome to hear Lightning Rod is testing! I'll be in the Pigeon Forge area for the next week so I'm hopeful it can be open for at least part of one day.
