  1. Is that the only ride at Morey's that gives me the Universal treatment?
  2. This is great news! This looks like one of the best RMCs and I may have a chance to ride it this fall.
  3. I found Wild Beast to be a pretty good coaster. It was really smooth up front and at least half the hills had air. Honestly it was the same as Kings Dominion's Grizzly minus the tunnel and setting.
  4. As long as the VR isn't being used, Mind Eraser shouldn't have too long of a line.
  5. I mean I just ate at Mellow Mushroom's pizza... I shuddered as I wrote that sentence about SFNE's SLC but it is the best one I've been on solely because of the vest restraints. It was between that one or T3.
  6. I'll see how it stacks up to SFNE's Mind Eraser, the gold standard of SLCs.
  7. Should be. I plan to stay until closing.
  8. I'll get to experience Morey's for the first time this Saturday since work will bring me nearby.
  9. With my generally rotten luck, I fully expect it to open June 14 since I leave the area tomorrow. Besides that would corroborate the Dippin' Dots lady's date a few pages back.
  10. Great report of Splash Country! I was just there the past 2 days and loved it. RiverRush may be shorter than the 2 water coasters at Splashin' Safari but I honestly may have liked it the best. It wasn't as long, but there were 3 drops that had stronger air than the awesome shed drop on Wildebeast.
  11. Yes, CW would definitely not retrack some of the ride if they are RMCing it next year. But on the other hand, they really only retracked a bit of the ride. I don't know normally how long it takes to do a whole retrack, but I wonder why they only chose to retrack a bit of the ride. SFNE tried topper track on parts of the Cyclone the year before it was RMC-ed into Wicked Cyclone so it could happen.
  12. Wow that's a lot of rides on El Toro! It seems Six Flags as a chain placed a greater emphasis on operations this year.
  13. After getting to ride Daredevil Falls (it was closed during my visit to Dollywood last year), it now takes the top non Disney/Universal flume for me. It has a wonderful setting, some decent theming, and an epic drop.
  14. Even with those restraints, it's still a top 5 coaster for me with how it has ridden over the past month. I've been riding it since 2007 and can't recall it ever running this wildly.
  15. Yesterday that door was completely shut. I am so hoping the workers walking the track are performing an inspection so it can reopen tomorrow but that's just the hopeful optimist in me.
  16. I know they were supposed to help flipping but if it is running faster, maybe that will also give more flips.
  17. It was running yesterday. Interestingly enough, they have removed some of the magnetic fins from the ride. I will note that the ride got stuck on the lift yesterday. It didn't seem like a big deal, but of course a local station jumped on the story.
  18. You get drops on you in most seats. Though on my one ride in the front, your shoes could get drenched after the lift if you don't lift up your feet.
  19. ^ And that description of Lightning Rod's intensity is exactly why I'll make a return trip when it runs more consistently. All of Arrow's loops tend to pack a punch. The difference with Tornado, is Tornado's are smooth. Thunderhead in the back is still pretty good. But I'll take a smoother and equally as wild ride over a rougher one.
  20. ^ Thunderhead towards the back gets bumpy but it's really fun up front. Looks like no activity by Lightning Rod today. The doors by the station are closed.
  21. I agree the front is the best seat on Timbers. Smoother than the others with the best airtime. The back has a rattle but still gives great air.
  22. It's definitely annoying but it's a very good incentive to return once they actually get it running reliably. After how well it ran the first month this year, I figured I'd be safe to book my flight after failing to get on it last year. Guess Lightning Rod tricked me into a trip this year. I am thankfully the park has listed it as CD instead of the dog and pony show they did last year with rehearsals since this has allowed me to ignore the giant lawn ornament overlooking the fried chicken cart and focus on other rides. Though seeing it test all day Thursday was a real sausage-tease. Also as an aside Dolly's Splash Country is a really nice water park. RiverRush may not be as long as Holiday World's water coasters, but I think it's better. 3 drops give air crazier than the shed drop on Wildebeast.
  23. Probably the last time a cable snapped? It's really hard seeing how awesome Lightning Rod is and knowing I likely won't be riding it this trip, but I think the park's decision to close it to get it running more reliably is the right one in the long run.
  24. No testing yet today but 3 employees are on the lift about 3/4 of the way up working.
