Dive Machines? What are your thoughts?
andyuk200523 replied to downunder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have to say, I have so far only ridden Oblivion (about 150 times), but it has the most intense Pullout of any ride I have been on atm. The first time I ever rode it I had issues breathing during the drop, definatly intense! -
Idiot Ride Ops.
andyuk200523 replied to kidcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Its good to see that some people still enjoy working at their own parks and follow the rules!!! One of my close friends is a Team Manager at a certain large London based park and is really dedicated to getting throughputs at their highest whilst loading correctly and safely, a few years ago he was working at Alton Towers as lead op on AIR, he still holds the record for highest throughput during the course of a days operation. I have seen him work and it is obvious he loves his job and makes sure his colleagues are working correctly. I know that the pay at Theme Parks isn't particularily great, however if you choose to work there the pay obviously shouldn't bother you, otherwise find another job!!!! A little bit of useless information for you all, if anyone of you have been on SAW at Thorpe, notice how the station crew do a "Thumbs Down" signal instead of a Thumbs Up sign....also how they ask everyone (99% of the time) to put their hands in the air and wave (this is to check for loose objects in the ride car) now I have to admit, I have seen illegal POV's on YouTube from Saw, so obviously this is not a full proof way of checking things, but it is great to see how one persons way of working can affect how an entire ride operates and improves the whole ride experience! -

I have to agree with some of the things written about employees not bothering to check restraints etc......fire the lot of them in my opinion, it may be very difficult to get injured on a particular ride, but whilst you are on that ride, your life is in the ride operators hands. Comply with rules or get fired..... As for all the Ride Ops who sit playing on their phones all day.........Get another job ffs!!!! If you want to work at a Theme Park and create a fun entertaining day out for the public, then do your god damn job properly, I have a colleague who plays on his phone throughout the day and the number of times I have had blasts at him telling him it is actually company policy to have no mobile phones on the shop floor. We are currently allowed them on the understanding no-one takes the p*ss (i.e. you can check the phone occasionally) If he ruins it for everyone, we then have less freedom. Same rule applies in Theme Parks, I am sure if people were responsible and left their phone in either their pocket or on the side in the control booth, you would only need to look at it every once in a while if you got a text or something, then there would not be a problem... (Sorry I am going on a bit here.....) I will end with this comment............ If you want to work at a Theme Park, follow the god damn rules or leave and go work somewhere else, where guests lives are not in your hands!!! P.S. I don't know if you figured it out, but I hate people playing with mobile phones -

Ok, after analizing some photos of both Launched and Millenium Force, it is 100% Definatly a Cable Lift....here are some photos....... If there is still any doubt then I don't know what other proof before vertical construction starts people are looking for!!! SNAP!!!!!! Kings Dominions 2010 Coaster, note the cutout at the bottom of the Catch Car Run..... Also of note there is not enough room for the Hydraulic's to go for the raising/lowering of the safety brakes. Credit to RCDB for photo - This is Stealth's Launch Track......note there is no cutout at the bottom of the catch car run. -
Not leds. Another Clue............... I think I made this one a bit difficult, so I will give you all a fairly good clue..... Expensive Camcorders have 3, cheaper ones have 1..........

I don't know if your aware but blood leaking into the brain can take weeks before it will affect the individual, You could be walking down the street 2 weeks after the injury and suddenly collapse, it is not unusual. Just because there is a lot of people getting sue'd in the world at the moment, there is no reason to refer to the person as a "money grabbing low life" They might be seriously injured and possibly not able to walk again (just an example, don't know the finer details). I am sure the person involved would rather have the use of their legs than a large lump sum payment. -
THRILL POINT LA [RCT2]
andyuk200523 replied to BelgianGuy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Not bad so far, I am currently playing with RCT1 on my laptop, enjoy the good old days Your Park Logo looks suspiciously like Flamingo Land -
I am not really surprised, the park never really seems to be busy, last time I went was at the beginning of the summer and it was absolutly dead, so much so I had to wait for 30 minutes for Inferno...........not because of a queue, but waiting for another person to join me as you have to ride as a pair!!!!!!!!!!!! And lets face it Magnus Collossus was just plain and utter PAIN!!!!!!!!! Apart from this though, it was a nice pleasant little park.

Obviously none of these people who fainted had ever been to The London Dungeon, I was selected out of the crowd for our guide to demonstrate how a tongue was ripped out, it was great, not really scary at all!! Although there was a section dedicated to Sweeny Todd which freaked me out a bit (pitch black and you could hear him walking around behind you sharpening his blades, a bit like ExtraTerrorestrail Alien Encounter was like at Disney) May have to go to Warwick Castle to see for myself I think.

Great Idea, kinda reminds me of the Rock 'n' Rollercoasters, this idea would have been great back in the day on Black Hole at Alton. -

Stealth @ Thorpe Park, after a few days staying with King Ride Op Darren (See TPR's Thorpe Trip in 2006 for photo of said Ride Op) Just before I left to go home he had to pop into work to see someone so he got me in and up the exit ramp for a quick Stealth experience, great way to cure a hangover I would post a pic, but I am sure you all know what it looks like! -
Again, have to say been very quiet so far this year, but heading to europe in October so will grab a park or two then. Thorpe Park x 2 (second trip was purely to ride stealth, nothing else) Chessington WOA x 1 Pleasurewood Hills x 1 Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach x 1 Flamingo Land x 1 Hoping to get Walibi and maybe Efteling in October.

This is one of the only parks that I am following at the moment, your attention to detail is staggering, my one question though..... .......Please, when will you release a download pack featuring your park?!?! I know with all the CS your park features it would be a big download, but I would love to walk around and enjoy the wonders of your park.

I have to say, I have finally watched the videos on that site and there is absolutly no **** in hells chance you would get me on that ride, without a shadow of a doubt that would be my idea of a knightmare.....I get nervous just watching that!!!! 350ft Giant Drop Freefall, not a problem, leaving my life in the hands of a metal cable and making myself walk off a stupidly tall building......never gonna happen!!!!!!! -

Wow, what I would give to have that model or a model that good in my house! I would love to go to an IAAPA event at some point in the future, is it just for Private Guests or can you go as a member of the public to these shows???
