I try not to normally get involved in these "no win" arguements" purely on the basis I give up too easily, but I really must agree......... There is a fence between the coaster and the other attractions, however, there is clearly no fence between the now deflated bouncy castle and the Go Gator Coaster, or am I missing something here???? I hate the way the UK (Even the worldwide press) Jump to conclusions in regards to accidents at Theme Parks, they always go for the larger company as a ScapeGoat, but in this instance it is clearly the parents/minders of the child and the partial fault of the fair company for not pre-empting something like this happening, whether this has been fine for 10 years or not, if there is any kind of fast moving machinery/attraction and a static ride with children bouncing about, there should be some form of fence between them. Especially in this day and age when anyone will try to sue for a quick pound (buck). That is all for now (I hope my point came across, think I kinda zoned out writing that, but reading it it kinda makes sense)

I......................must..........................ride.............................that!!!!!!!!! That has to be without a doubt the most awesome ride I have ever seen at a "ghetto" style family park! Good job I am going to Holland in October, will have to remember this place! -
Without a doubt one of the funniest photos I have ever viewed!!! I seriously love the dedication to the cause in the fact it actually looks like you took a cut-out of the train and held it at the right angle to get the photo!!!!!! P.S. I only say this cause I think I can see your thumb holding the photo and the image is focused on the train rather than the track. Legend

Credit Question?

In my personal opinion V2 cannot be counted twice as it was purely reprofiling work (in theory), the elements are the same, just at a different angle!! -

Credit Question?
andyuk200523 replied to Speeddeamon128's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think what has been said above is a good guide to gaining credits, For Instance, at my local park Pleasurewood Hills, their Zierer Family coaster has had 3 names (The Ladybird, The Rattlesnake and now Snake in the Grass) It is however, only one credit, however Phantoms Revenge/Steel Phantom is definatly 2 seperate credits as the ride has substantially changed. This is definatly the way I score my credits. -
How well do you handle hangtime?

The only single ride I have ever feared for my life on was Sky Screamer at Pleasurewood Hills, kinda like a Ghetto Looping Starship, the restraints always had about 6 inches of movement when you were being held upside down, and you were always held upside down for what seemed like an eternity......luckily, it has all gone now, never never again!!!! -

Looks a great ride, but also, I can see that being something that will generate massive amounts of vomit!!!! I am confused by the fact each car has 2 control sticks, what happens if both controls are held in opposite directions? and how does the ride determine who is in control? -
Black hole at Alton Towers Corkscrew at Alton Towers The new beast at Alton Towers Thunder looper at Alton Towers Klondike Mine at Drayton Manor The Bullet at Flamingo Land Magnum Force at Flamingo Land Spinning Mouse at Pleasurewood Hills Soopa Loopa at Lightwater Valley Think that pretty much covers mine.

I have to say, it actually looks like a hell of a lot of fun! the speed of the elevator lift has surprised me somewhat, and I think the splash is an aceptable amount of wetness. -
I have had a few ideas over the years, one such was something like a sit-down coaster but with a car on a small scale to a top spin car, on top of the track (or below) but free spinning, so every ride is different. I will try to post a drawing later on to explain my theory. Few other ideas, on the flat ride front, how about a sideways pirate ship (maybe even an "over the top" pirate ship but sideways, would certainly give a new experience! I have another killer idea too, but you will have to bear with me!!! Design it yourself rollercoaster experience.... ....vertical lift out of station, stop at the top of the lift and the pillar that the lift is on spins round (like the ride in RCT 3 that allows you to have a 90 degree or 180 degree turn at the top) however there are a choice of elements each seperated by a vertical lift pillar which can rotate and select a different element (even doing one element backwards if one chooses too) The ride experience would be selected in the queue just before the air gates at a touch screen console, everyone chooses their favourite and the track is selected from the most popular one picked. I know this probably sounds like utter rubbish, so again I will try to draw something lame later which roughly explains this. I'm all out now!

Even though I live about 40 minutes down the road from Pleasurewood (it is officially my home park) I still haven't been on Wipeout, will hopefully be going up in June, will get a chance to ride then I hope. Segway Grand Prix, OMG, I am so gonna be going on that when I am next up in yarmouth! Any idea of pricing?!?! Did you go on Monday?? the reason I ask is that chances are your Sat Nav would have directed you down the A12/A14/A12 to london, did you get caught in the Major Accident that closed the A14 for 2 hours between 4pm and 6pm?? Really messed up my drive across town, a drive of 10 minutes would have taken about 1 hour through town, I just stayed where I was, couldn't be dealing with the hassle! -
Madame Tussauds do have a Horror section, it is called the "Chamber of Horrors" Pretty good, kinda like a teaser version of the London Dungeons. Yes the Dungeons do have a drop ride, it is something to do with a Hangmans Noose and the shock of the drop, not sure, but I believe this has replaced the Sweeny Todd barber section which I loved, scared the crap out of my wife! All well and good, but we had 2 4 1 vouchers! Couldn't use them online! And to be honest, I hadn't been there in about 14 years (since they had the midday execution (if anyone remembers that)) So didn't think the queue would be that bad......my own fault, I know in future though! Andrew

Well, I hadn't bothered looking at this post for quite a while thinking that it had gone dead, just done catching up really! The trip is still in the pipeline, however after some advice from you peeps It may be fewer parks than originally intended, however still going to be a 40 day trip, my reasons for this are as follows......going to be starting a family soon, so as my wife can't stand big coasters, I cannot see me being able to drag her round the world once the family has started (robb....some people get all the luck!! Elissa - you are 1 in a million it would appear!). Second reason is that I will be taking a sabatical as I will be leaving my current employee to start a new career, I just need to finish my MCSE before I can do this, so it does all hinge on me passing my final 4 exams for Microsoft. Once this has been done the trip can start. Originally it was just an idea that could happen, Obviously as I get closer (things change over time) to this happening the plans will inevitably change, I may just do the East Coast or just the West Coast, I really couldn't tell you at the moment, all I know is there is a lot of Coastering and Credit Whoring to be done in the US that I am definatly missing out on!!!!!!!!!! And I want to catch up with parks that I have wanted to goto for more than 15 years! Bit of a lifelong ambition really Anyways, thanks for all the comments people, given me a lot of food for thought! Andrew

£33.00 to enter on the day, or £23 if you buy in advance on the website. London Dungeons is an awesome experience, and they have a drop ride and a flume ride with a "surprise" ending, however again, like Madame Tussauds, the queue is immense to get in!!!! I went 2 years ago with my partner and arrived at 09:30 and the queue was just over 50 minutes to get in the building! Great way to spend a morning though. Andrew

EDIT - Looks like I got beaten to the posting! But anyways, hope this is useful! I'll answer question 2 first.....Madame Tussauds, however, I would strongly advise having pre-booked tickets as the queue to get in can sometimes reach up to 3+ hours!!! Q1 - Chessington and Thorpe are both easily accessible from Central London, Chessington though is definatly the easiest. Thorpe - There are regular trains running from Waterloo station to Staines station, from there you can get the 950 bus direct to the park, if you go on a weekday you will have no problems getting there doing most of the rides and getting back within your time limit. Chessington - Regular trains again are available from Waterloo station to Chessington South Station, the park is a 5/10 minute walk from the station Rail Timetables Again, at Chessington, getting all the rides done in your timelimit is easy on a weekday (as long as there aren't too many school trips in on that day you go!) Hope any of this is useful to you, enjoy London!! Andrew
