Just heard the Vancouver-born actress, known for not only playing (Charlton Hestons) Mom of Moses in The 10 Commandments... and for playing and originating the role of Carlotta in the lauded Stephen Sondheim 1971 musical FOLLIES - with the pinnacle 10'oclock lounge number, "I'm Still here" - but Best Known as Lily Munster of that wonderful show, The Munsters has just passed away, today.... Adieu Lily. "Good times and sad times, you've seen 'em all and my dear, you're still dear." (with apologies to Mr.Sondheim)

Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Time for updating here! Just found at www.dlrp.fr new articles on stuff at DisneyParis, including some wonderful stuff about a German television special on the parks, but specifically on The Studios AND Toon Studios in particular. The english translation of the site is pretty rudamentary, but the pix are wonderful and easy to understand. Would love to be able to get the photos to enlarge, but for some reason I can't do that. Anyway - scale models now photographed of the entrance queue and 'interior' of Crush's Coaster.... including the one below of the ride vehicle on the exposed track, before they built the Studio 5 Building around it. Kewl! Edit: Forgot. Here's the english translation site: http://216.109.124.98/language/translatedPage?tt=url&.intl=fr&text=http%3A//www.dlrp.fr&lp=fr_en Oooooh that DOES look like a shell, don't it? Thanks to dlrp.fr for this ride vehicle photo. -
Cleared up all the branches and 'stuff' in front yard. One yard down, other yard (back) to go....

Cold wintry rains coming down all night, slowly melting the snowfall we got this morning . Warm slush is a good thing.

What Are Your "Coaster Goals" For 2007?
Nrthwnd replied to jappi's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hitting my #200 Coaster, through the upcoming September TPR Japan Tour! Oh yeah - AND finally being able to visit the Disney Parks! Never thought I'd be able to do it, solo what with the buying of tix, hotel rooms, transport etc. etc. that has to be done. Once again, the TPR "Japan Adventure Tour" will help me attain this goal in 2007. And Bright Blessings to KidTums and her coaster-crazed folks! -
omg omg omg omg OMG! I was sooooooo hoping you'd be considering a tour thru Scandinavia! ~ ~ ~ Excellent TR on Tivoli and Copenhagen. I am hoping that when The'08 Tour is figured out, I'll be contacting my host who is one of the DIVERS at Tivoli's Aquarium! He lives in Malmo, Sweden (ferry ride or bridge? I forget...) just across from Copenhagen, so the offer's been there to visit/stay with him. AND see the city! Which means I will probably put in extra time In Copenhagen, before and/or after The Tour happens. Yes! Your TR certainly makes me want to go there more and more - and already anticipate my 2008 TPR Tour choice, heh heh! And - POST #3000!!!

Orient Express
Nrthwnd replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
OE introduced me to my first steel coaster SURPRISE, that being the pretzel looping 'thing' it speeded into, just before the end of the ride? Never saw it, or saw that coming, which was great for a first-timer like me on it. (Sorry, am not techno-geeky enough to actually know the coaster 'term' for that configuration...) I also got to fulfill a theme park dream-come-true, and that was FINALLY riding the Zambeezi Zinger (sp?) while it still operated back in mid-90s! Had known about it (with old info.flyers and pix) since the park originally opened, so that was very cool to ride, for me back then. And the Orient Express was a nice bonus, heh heh. -
Probably busier in the summer, so they have two separate cable systems with two lines running... there and back. That'sa heck of a lot of cable "balls" too - a few of the pix make them almost look like they're part of a (dare I mention it) Christmas card! Nice re-tour-n to Hong Kong, guys. Vids were still fun, too.

Work on getting back into shape - i.e. my "TPR Touring Weight" for Japan in September, heh heh.

Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Been such awhile for this thread. Bump-A-Bump dee Bump! Is it my imagination, or is Race Rally going to be possibly the best of the three such rides available in 3 Disney Parks? #1 Kelp Kups @ Ariel's Lagoon in TDS - Basicially set within the entire building environment, that being an underwater one, being "fit in" with other attractions. Other attractions also theme to same. #2 Francis' Lady Bug Boogie @ Bug's Land in DCA - Same as above, only outdoors within an 'oversized' greening of the 'Land.' #3 Race Rally @ Toon Studios in DLPR - Entire environment is built around the ride, including backdrop, queue building, etc. Yum. I think that DLPR is getting better and better with each passing year or two. The upcoming 15th Anniversary is no exception. Too bad I will be a month or so earlier there, than the posted opening of the Studios. Ah well, there's always the TPR Mainland EuroTour in..... ? -
I just bought my 2007 Season Pass (online) to Playland Amusement Centre in Vancouver, Canada! And - got it at a reduced "holiday special price" that was about to end.... tomorrow! So - saved even more money for next year's pass, than I did with this past season's pass! Excellent timing, I'd say.
