The Best Paramount Rides
Nrthwnd replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Too bad Tomb Raider didn't last long. This one I might have ridden. One of the very rare enclosed top spins it was, yes? p.s. Flat rides always rock, when they're enclosed! -

^ We loved that restaurant! And Sapporo, too. Great Japan touring, Chuck! Looking forward to more of it all. -
Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread

Now that we're one month away from hopefully opening, a reminder..... Subject to change, of course. All the same, here's hoping. A postcard. -
^ I had to. I was fated to post it, lol. Joker Six Flags Mexico (Mexico City, Mexico) TPR 2013 Mexico Tour.

Show us your collection!!!
Nrthwnd replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I have over three decades' worth (in boxes) of past issues of Disney News, and have wondered the same thing, from time to time. Great articles and information (and photos!) about upcoming attractions, was the way they used to do it, through this magazine. The Magic Kingdom Club is a whole other story, lol. I still have the membership cards! The Summer 1977 issue. In Disneyland. Two years after WDW's opened. -

We just got an email from Broadway Across Canada, letting us know that the September tour of CHICAGO will not be coming our way. Or anywhere else, for that matter. And this is the start of our upcoming 2020/21 Season, too. We get a credit, but still. We're now down to three shows (Superstar; Anastasia; Hamilton) and "Come From Away" in March, as an add-on... Life goes on.

^/^^ As an 'elder DisneyParks geek' of sorts, I remember all of this, and how these attractions came to be. Learned it through paper magazines, television, and all the "old stuff" that communicated information. But it's so lovely to see it explained by others, who love it just as much as I do. And yours bootymix96, was a very nice and thorough one!

Europa Park Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think that this has, unfortunately for Europa, caused them to re-think guest queueing, etc. Give them credit, for lasting this long without skip-the-line systems. And this is a big, wonderful park, too! I actually enjoyed NOT looking for fast pass kiosks, etc. etc. I could be happy with three days there. With four nights' stay, too. I Colosseo Hotel. -
^ Man, I hope everyone (you know, the smart ones who are in TPR) takes their time in re-visiting these parks, once they start opening, in stages. No stupid logjams like Robb noted at WDW's Disney Springs, Opening Day. My park isn't supposed to re-open until July. So I shall live thru everybody's else's parks' openings! Ha! Best Safe Wishes to all, once this gets going.

Efteling Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I found in previous visits, "it was what it was", and who knows if things would eventually be changed? Apparently it was a bit of a while, but things seemed to have (now) been altered, for the best. Yay! And all it really is, is removing buck teeth from Asian characters, and everything is alright, now? -

Chuck's TPR Shameless Nostalgia Trip Thread
Nrthwnd replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Chuck brings me back, to when I was on that same China/Hong Kong tour! Thanks for the lovely memories of a really long (23 days!) and awesome tour, Chuck! And blessings to Robb for guiding us through that "flight delay" etc. -
Listening to one of The Best TV Concerts, that's ever been produced. It won several Emmys for it, inckluding ones for Bob Fosse and Liza Minnelli, who starred in it. It's awesome. Look it up. It was quite the LIVE TV special. Sept.1972.

New Flat ride for Oaks Park
Nrthwnd replied to nynehalem's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's a good sign. Playland(PNE) was also like that (a traveling midway?) for a long, long time. Then, they put a permanent foundation down for AtmosFEAR (the starflyer), and started adding landscaping (i.e. shrubs and more trees) around some of the other flats. Definitely an improvement. Hope it continues that way for Oaks, too.
