  1. I checked the park's calendar, and it won't be open on April 27th. For the discount coupons, I believe (not sure) that McDonalds and Wawa have discounts (there's a Wawa right down the street from the park, great place to get food), but I'm not sure when they start having them, and I wouldn't count on them, so it might be safer to just buy from the park's site. And Skull Mountain seems to get a pretty long line, if it does it might not be worth bothering. That said, it's worth a go if there isn't a line. Also, you might know this, but Medusa won't be open until Memorial Day, so you won't be able to ride that. Have fun!
  2. Thanks for your help!
  3. In the past, I haven't had the best luck with their phone service, though that's probably changed. I'll give them a call, thanks.
  4. Hey, I'm going to Great Adventure for a day in about 3 weeks, and I've got a few quick questions I'd like to ask everybody: -Does anybody know why this is? On the park's calendar, the park is mostly closed on weekdays throughout April, except for one week. Does anybody know if there are any events or anything that week that might be why the park chose to be open then? I think Spring Break ends before that, so that wouldn't be it. Easter is the Sunday before that week, but that doesn't really make sense to me as to why they'd open for that... anybody have any ideas, or is this just when they chose to open? -How crowded will it be? Judging off some of the TRs I've seen here, the park should be pretty empty on a Wednesday (I'm probably going the 15th), right? How long should I expect to wait? -Will any rides be closed? I know Medusa won't be open yet, but are there any other rides I should expect to be down? Will any coasters likely be running one train? Anyway, I think that's all. If anybody has any other ideas or recommendations (particularly as to when to go), please share them. Thanks!
  5. ^^My area's pretty nice (Philadelphia suburbs), and I think I could get used to living near the Alvey's. Seriously though, good luck with moving, I hope you guys can find a place you like more than LA!
  6. When I buy an Expedition DVD, I watch the music disc, and then I might just skip through the footage disc to things that interest me, or just not play it at all. With that said, I also own RAW #1, and I watch it aw often as any of the Expedition discs. For me, I'll watch the RAW DVDs and not the Expedition footage discs because I'm generally more interested in the coasters on RAW; it's sort of like a "best of" of the normal footage DVDs. I love both though.
  7. I'm curious, how so? Is he a member that I'm not aware of? As far as celebrities go, I haven't seen any. Closest to that was probably seeing a commercial being filmed at Great Adventure. They had a section of the "Boardwalk" cleared, and a couple were walking down it, with cameras in front of them. It was kinda cool.
  8. I am, both. I'm pretty good at COD4 (although my connection seems to be seriously lagging lately), but I suck at NHL09. I'll add you.
  9. Very cool, and quite interesting. I've always wondered about vegan/vegetarian food choices, I think I'd have a tough time making any meal with no animal products. If you do another, I'll be back. Also, more step-by-step instructions would be cool for anybody looking to replicate, or at least take inspiration from, what you've done, but that's up to you.
  10. I think it's safe to say that there's a difference between MF and your average Intamin hyper. If you want a good 'standard' Intamin, look at rides like S:ROS and Expedition GeForce.
  11. Yay! Thank you Title Fairy, I truly now have a title to fit my personality. If you'll pardon me, Title Fairy, I would like to most humbly point out that you spelled 'Bonfide' wrong in Groteslurf's title.
  12. ^At GAdv, Superman: Ultimate Flight can get a very long line, so you should probably knock it out either after El Toro and before Kingda Ka, or just after both. Also, I can tell it's a very long trip and you're trying to stick with larger parks, but while you in Pennsylvania Knoebel's is a great park, especially if you just want to sit back and relax. Good luck!
  13. Title fairy, I've been a member here for a while now, and I've decided that I'd like to have my custom title as: "No Discernible Talent Whatsoever".
  14. I'm going to secretly pretend mine was one of those, but it totally wasn't.
  15. Two words: Slap Chop! "Your gunna love my nuts."
  16. ^Hank's is great, I love root beer and Hank's is the best I've had. As far as generic brands, A&W root beer is the best IMO.
  17. I have to just echo what everybody else is saying: holy crap, this is amazing! The theme is great, and the way you did it is beyond awesome. This is my new favorite thing on RTC3.
  18. Lightning Racer ERT was amazing. My last night ride on El Toro was fantastic too.
  19. I read this story a while ago. From what I remember, it isn't so much a roller coaster as a car on a track that is slowly powered through the aisles. I can't find a link to it though. Kind of cool, but mostly pointless IMO.
  20. Kawasemi is so... delicious. It looks like everything a roller coaster should be. This update has made me consider skipping my exchange trip to Germany to go on a TPR Japan trip.
  21. Personally, I greatly prefer TPR TV to CoasterTube as a name, but I think TPR TV would make an even better name for a podcast or something along those lines. EDIT: Also, maybe this is just me, but I'm not much a fan of the TPR TV logo. It just feels sort of plopped down. It doesn't flow with the any other part of the site, IMO.
  22. Steel results: 1) Superman - Ride of Steel - Six Flags New England 2) Eagle's Fortress - Everland 3) Expedition GeForce - Holiday Park *) Kawasemi - Tobu Zoo 5) Piraten - Djurs Sommerland 6) Nemesis - Alton Towers 7) Behemoth - Canadas Wonderland 8) Goliath - Walibi World 9) Katun - Mirabilandia 10) Dragon Khan - Port Aventura 11) Pyrenees - Parque EspaNa 12) Millennium Force - Cedar Point *) Atlantis Adventure - Lotte World 14) Goliath - Six Flags Over Georgia 15) Maverick - Cedar Point 16) Nitro - Six Flags Great Adventure 17) SheiKra - Busch Gardens Africa 18) Montu - Busch Gardens Africa 19) Ride of Steel - Darien Lake 20) Apollo's Chariot - Busch Gardens Europe Once again, IMO this list was very influenced by TPR; TPR members are probably the main reason Eagle's Fortress even ranked. Both the Intamin mega-lites debuted into the top five. I'm willing to bet we'll see a lot of pissed Cedar Point fanboys who are disappointed with Millennium Force's spot. And dead last: 358) Goudurix - Parc Asterix Goudurix retains its spot at the bottom.
  23. ^^ Nemesis' is debatable. It has a straight section, but it's very slight, and even that is after a downward curve. It's hard to explain, watch if you want to see what I mean. ^ Personally, I wouldn't consider either Raptor's or Great Bear's straight. Both turn 90 degrees as they drop, so while their partially straight, they're not what I'd call a straight drop. Anyway, back to Manta. Looks great, definitely better than S:UF. I like seeing inversions other than pretzels on flyers.
