  1. You can vote twice a day, vote on the website and text 100510 to Pepsi (73774)!
  2. Well made, I really hope to see more CTRs on TPR, in my opinion a lot of the sites that have the majority of them tend to be badly organized and difficult to navigate....
  3. Very interesting, I was just in Salzburg a week ago. I was staying in a town called Bad Reichenhall, they also have a significant salt mine, and we did something very similar to this. Salzburg is a really nice town, I think it was one of my favorite parts of the trip; wish I was still there!
  4. Elissa, I only have about $100 to invest, but I think it'd be awesome to hear some of your guys' plans!
  5. I finished watching Peep Show and That Mitchell and Webb Look a little bit ago. Both are fantastic, I really love the pairing of David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Peep Show is a dark, uncomfortable, but funny show (especially the last season), and That Mitchell and Webb Look is, in my opinion, the best sketch show on TV right now (just a bit ahead of Whitest Kids U Know). I'm really looking forward to the next seasons of both.
  6. Alright, I was just pointing out that there's a difference between a simplified description of an element and how it rides. An airtime hill just goes up and down but creates an awesome feeling, and these "two tracks that happen to be mirror banking each other" might also. I'm sure China will be sad to hear you aren't coming.
  7. To be fair, on some of the top coasters in the world the big feature is "It goes up, and then it goes down." I think the element looks very cool, but it'll really be interesting to see it as part of a whole coaster and how it actually turns out. I hope it actually allows for it's namesake- it might be the closest thing to human contact some of TPR would get!
  8. Has anybody used this system yet, or know any more details about it? The article says pay-per-ride, how much is each ride, and how many people is it good for? I'm going to LC soon, and was thinking about taking advantage of this for extra rides on Boulder Dash if necessary.
  9. ... they finished building the ride because they're zombies, not vampires. But before they could ride it....
  10. Congrats to the Blackhawks, nothing but pride and respect for both teams. Wait 'till next year!
  11. I don't think your age is the only reason people can't take you seriously....
  12. Hey, what do you guys think crowds will be in two Saturdays, June 5th? I'm coming down for a day, I mostly am just interested in coasters and it doesn't seem like the lines are ever unbearable at SFA, but is there any reason I should try to reschedule?
  13. I REALLY hope somebody makes t-shirts to "Save Intimidator 305." It would just be like a helpful marker for "people to stay away from." I think it'll be interesting to see exactly how/if this testing process between trims, lift speed, and restraints happens. Cedar Fair has always seemed like a really heavy-handed business to me, so I wonder how long this'll last, and if they'll ever get it just right (obviously though, they'll never please everyone).
  14. An update to the picture viewer would be a small but important change; it takes a few seconds to load each page, which makes going through pictures bothersome. A Flash viewer or something else would make the pictures function more efficient and usable. Also, perhaps including reviews of the park / coaster from a generally respected enthusiast would be a nice addition.
  15. I do think there's a local bias, although I think it's only partially fanboyism. People near the park who have a lot of rides on a new coaster will probably have had great and bad rides on the coaster, especially with a ride with such inconsistent reviews as Intimidator. For me personally, one great ride outweighs a few "meh" ones when I'm ranking a ride, and I think this is why local reviews are generally more positive. It'll be interesting to see how people react on a big group visit like the IntimidaTOUR, especially if the ride is running particularly well or badly that day.
  16. Bizarro, Expedition GeForce, megalites, Insane!, T-Express, El Toro, Goliath, Storm Runner. Yep, I'd say she will be.
  17. What are the chances of one of those "launches" on the new coaster being airtime hills? I guess they're a little too long and straight?
  18. Hey, does anyone know if it's possible to take public transit to SFA from Philadelphia (or just outside of it)? Particularly train; would I have to go into DC and then take the Metro out, or is there a more direct route?
  19. I don't know if this is sadder for the people who had such a great time on this ride, or those of us who never got a chance to. Here's hoping that at some point another roller coaster will be built or discovered that lives up to Eagle Fortress's craziness.
  20. Oh no, could it be... a stand-up? Personally I think an Intamin Wingrider like Baco could fit in, and it's a concept that I was hoping to see again. That would be Busch's first Intamin I believe, and I think B&M's strong track record in Busch parks makes a Wingrider or any Intamin sort of unlikely. Whatever it is, I definitely hope it uses the terrain and fits well in BBW's space, and based off Busch's past rides it will.
  21. Does anyone who has attended or heard about one of the past Coaster Celebrations know if it's worth the $30? If a lot of people attend, it seems like the ERT would be more crowded than the lines normally. I have a season pass, but two hours of ERT on Nitro until midnight sounds great.
  22. I was joking. I don't think it matters what STR is, nor what it means to CP or the future of the log flume.
  23. ^ Aha, but that's where you're wrong! In fact, S:tR has a wide, quick, but overall very medium 5-9 splash radius. PP's splash, on the other hand, is more of a "water wall," and has a generally recognized splash radius of 10-20. Water rides with a splash radius of less than 10 are usually referred to as "Flumelites", and over 10 are "Hyper Chutes." Clearly, the two rides are ENTIRELY different. And this isn't even considering wetness to ride length ratios.
  24. I've got to say: wow! This is by far more than I ever could have expected! A great list, and I'm so glad to see that nearly every park near me is on it, I don't see how I can possibly not sign up for ClubTPR now. Even just one of these events would be worth the cost. Awesome job Robb.
