  1. In your opinion, does the relatively "dull" landscape of BGT and the rest of Florida help or hinder the design process for rides, particularly ones which interact so heavily with the ground as Cheetah Hunt does?
  2. In my experience, crowds are generally pretty light on weekdays in April, I don't think it'd be worth the cash to get a Flashpass. The only major source of people on those days would be school trips, so if the lines are too long for your liking I would expect that you could buy a Flashpass when you got there or simply wait until they've left. At any rate, I don't think you can go wrong with a weekday in April, and even a Saturday would be manageable.
  3. I have to think the shoddy play was a result of the choppiness of the ice... sort of a good-bad of the Winter Classic, great conditions for everything except the play surface. Next game I'm really looking forward to is the Stanley Cup rematch, although the Blackhawks seem like a husk of the team they were last year. I expect the Flyers to win, but it'll still be good to revisit the series. EDIT: That's probably what it is. You're right again!
  4. Of course now that you've had the last word it'd just be silly to keep talking. Grow up. Looks like the Caps won the Classic anyway... but I'm willing to bet this totally wasn't a fair game and the Caps just got lucky and the sun was in Crosby's eyes. EDIT: Bad timing, happened to post that just as you posted a concession to make yourself look classy.
  5. ^Three things: 1. People DID talk about it when the Pens beat the Caps in a shootout- several people, including you. 2. To say that the Caps "caught TONS of lucky breaks" is an exaggeration at best. 3. It's a fifteen-year old kid. No need to get up in arms over it.
  6. Alright, tested Belomy Sights with every browser I have, on Windows Vista. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Flock- Downloaded and unzipped fine, but trying to open it in RCT2 gave the error "Unable to load file... file contains invalid data" Internet Explorer- Downloaded, but gave error "Archive not present" in WinRAR when unzipping
  7. Saw that live, that was fantastic. Possibly the best goal I've seen this year. The Flyers are in a little lull, but I'm really looking forward to them taking on the Kings tomorrow, two strong teams trying to keep and reverse their luck, should be exciting!
  8. ^I've found most of these sort of troubles with WMP are due to disorganized or different info for songs. WMP is a little less liberal with file information than iTunes, and so file info is more important. Personally, I have a very organized file architecture for my music, I have one large file for all music, divided into artist folders, divided into album folders with the tracks for that album. It's a bit of work, but is really rewarding at the end. To solve your problem, I would make sure that all the tracks for that album are in a folder just for that album, to eliminate some of WMP's album art quirks. After that, right click on each file, go to Properties, and make sure that all its artist and album information is exactly the same, and maybe reenter it for all the MP3s or vice-versa. They should now show up in WMP as one album. Now go on Wikipedia or Google Images, find the album art, copy it, and then in WMP right click on it as select "Paste album art." Hope this helps!
  9. Personally, I don't really see what there is to argue here. Some people really liked BBW, some were just sad to see it go, and a lot were completely impartial. I didn't think there was TOO massive an outpouring of people overly-sensationalizing BBW,it seemed like maybe only 20 or less members here posted things that arguably went overboard. However many of those people who voted were probably lost in the hundreds of other voters in Mitch's poll. Posts here represent personal opinion, and things like ridership and Mitch's poll represent public opinion. The two don't somehow invalidate the other. It only takes a handful of posts to seem like a majority, but the same amount of people in a line or on the poll are nothing. I didn't pay much attention to the BBW thread, but it seems to me that the people who posted there probably weren't the ones who voted it into the 110th place on the poll.
  10. Watching the replays, it looks like the Pens are the ones who got lucky. Fleury had a great game, he stopped a lot of shots including the one that went to replay. The Crosby breakaway probably should have been called, but the Malkin penalty probably not. At any rate, a good precursor for the Winter Classic. Makes me look forward to it!
  11. Not sure exactly what you mean here. Can you make a mock-up of it? Hopefully you can tell what I'm getting at here, I just made this in a minute at a friend's house. What I'd had in mind was something akin to the [ coastertube] tags, where somebody could put the URL of their file on the exchange into a post so that the track could be downloaded and rated from the thread containing it, not just linked to. It might be even better if it appeared above all the posts of a thread like a poll would be, so that its visible to all the posts of a thread. Does this clarify what I meant?
  12. A nice surprise to find, I've been wondering if this sort of thing would ever happen on TPR, and I'm glad to see that it has! Good job Robb and mcjaco (I want to say Matt here but I'm drawing a blank), I think you guys will do a great job of keeping it in order. So, first test thoughts: - If it doesn't evolve the use of the Game Exchange beyond what you are aiming for it to be, a sort of "advanced search" would be great, where designers can put more classifications (Theme, engineer, elements, etc) into their rides' profiles, and the rides can be searched through these factors. I don't have any tracks uploaded to TPR, and so I don't know what sort of UI there is for somebody once their ride is uploaded, but I imagine the only plausible way of inserting this info would be by the user, and not forcing mcjaco comb through every upload to add in what it's supposed to be themed to or after. This might not be possible with the structure of the uploads or just the idea in general, but it's something I think would improve the ability of a person to efficiently find what they're looking for. - Having the usernames in the table be links to a list of their rides (i.e. as if you'd searched their username) would make finding a designer you like or a person's earlier projects easier. - Maybe a way to insert the table you see when looking at a ride's page into a forum post, so that the combination the forum and the exchange are more seamless, as was done with Coastertube? This seems very code-intensive to me, but would effectively solve the issue of a commenting system and having the exchange be an addition, not a replacement, for the games forum. I really hope there's so info here that can be useful to you, this is a great addition to the site and something I think makes TPR far and away the most complete coaster site on the internet. Really appreciate it and hope I can help.
  13. Possibly my favorite video of all time, I hope they make a full song of out Don't Leave Me Swinging in the Wind Until November... if only it wasn't for the darn "Oh yeahs!"
  14. What a massive shame if that's true. I really do hope Mitch finds the time or will to run it again, or passes the algorithm on to somebody willing to take up the reigns. Mitch's poll is one of the few things I really look forward to every year in the industry, I hate that we might have lost it because some people can't handle reality or responsibility. Just truly embarrassing.
  15. I saw CAKE at the Mann Center back in September, and went on their Facebook and website petitioning them to play a show at a nearby theater. Lo and behold, Saturday I found on their mailing list that they're in fact playing TWO shows there. I'm determined to get front row seats to one of the shows, this is such an incredible opportunity. Also, pre-ordered their new album yesterday!
  16. IIRC: This is a Martin & Vleminckx ride, and I believe all the rides they've been majorly involved in have used wooden supports (Boardwalk Bullet and Fireball). I would assume these rides will have wooden supports, although i'm not sure if they'll be painted blue and red like they are in the renderings....
  17. - My location, at least 8 fantastic parks within driving distance. - The continual growth and renewal of the industry - TPR, and all the other sites that have gotten and kept me interested - Parks like Knoebels, Quassy, and Lake Compounce, complete throwbacks to simple fun - Floater airtime, ejector airtime, sudden airtime, El Toro airtime
  18. Because we all know the Flyers have never come back from 2 or 3 goals. But I won't argue with you, even if there are probably quite a few announcers, players, and fans that would.
  19. What's "hilarious" is that the Penguins have completely dominated the Flyers over the past 4 years. 2006/07 - Penguins go 8-0 against the Flyers during the season. 2007/08 - Penguins win their playoff series in 5 games, winning the final game 6-0. 2008/09 - Penguins win yet another playoff series against the Flyers, with Philadelphia blowing a 3 goal lead in game 6 to end the series. Shhhhhh! 2009/10 - Penguins go 5-1 against the Flyers during the season. And winning 5-1 the other night only adds to that. I guess I can see how it would be weird to a Pittsburgh fan that Philly fans cheer for their team even when they aren't winning. But years from now when the Pens suck and the Pirates are winning World Series we'll see what everybody's favorite teams are.
  20. Thought: Is it possible the audio is out of sync because they thought the sound was supposed to/would be better synced to the first hill? It may just be coincidence, but it seems that the moment the sound is the highest pitch/fastest is the same that the train crests the first hill. At any rate, all speculation. I think it's pretty obvious, though, that this ride is going to be completely out of control. How long until the TPR Dubai trip?
  21. It's impressive how much you seem to be trying to compensate for something. Flyers beat the Pens last game, Pens beat the Flyers this game. I frankly don't see what's so hilarious about it that you can't even seem to mention the team without informing everybody that they make you "LOL!"
  22. This is a great idea, I would definitely play a couple of games of MW2 some day this week. Preferrably not Friday or Saturday, as I tend to be out doing things those days, but nearly any other day/time will work. I think Robb has some great advice, let's set a day and just do it! My tag is Intaman, feel free to add me and all that.
  23. I think in the next couple of weeks/months Twitter is rolling out a new layout, so most current designs won't work after the change...
  24. ^Looks pretty good, I think changing the text under "TPR" to grey and maybe making the size even would look good.
  25. I absolutely love the Token icon pack for Rocketdock, and it goes well with the Özil wallpaper I found...
