  1. It's always interesting to see these local festivals and Jaycee's type events. They can be a lot of fun if you give them a try. Thanks for putting this one up, as it brought back some good memories from the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival in Florida. (That's the fish, not the hair.) Sorry, but I couldn't resist..... Caaandy gram.
  2. Ahhhh! Get out of my head! (So true.) Yes, we walked into the whole thing with a sense of humor and had a good time. Ironically, someone did shout at their shoes, not on the Himilaya or Rock o Plane, but on the Ferris Wheel....right before we were about to get on. Girlfriend witnessed it, I missed it, and we passed. Interestingly, some of the charm and magic of the fair was still there and I relived a few happy childhood memories. Glad girlfriend and I went. Ooops! Where are my manners? Thank you all for the kind words on the photos.
  3. Please tell me somebody got pictures or video of Tyler's puppet show. No kidding, when the last couple TPR trips are on DVD and Coasters in the Raw volume 2 is out, sign me up.
  4. Some great pics and captions. The Nerd Shot below is my favorite. Satisfactual comes from the Zippity Doo Dah song lyrics. This Nerd Shot made me laugh.
  5. Hey man, you got a great start. I see no crappiness. Congrats on a the first PTR.
  6. Big thank you Robb! Enjoyed this much. Rich is not alone in his Pepsi ways and I dig Chris's(?) coolie hat. And ButterScotch Chicken?! Man that sounds good.... Welcome back Ice Bat! Cheers you guys. Truely, a Sims 2 moment. Wow. Just....wow.....
  7. Truly "The Black Belt of roller coasters". Now what did we learn today kiddies? That's right, DO NOT mess with Batman or Ninjas. Bad things happen.
  8. Every year over labor day weekend is a little advertised yet entertaining fair at the old airport, not far from my flat. For the past 3 years, I've forgotten about it until the last day of the weekend, then saw it...while it was closing. Not this year by cracky! My girlfriend and I conquered the fair (as well as funnel cake and snow cones) with gusto. Now it's picture time! And we'll end this PTR on a good point. Thank you all for reading. Joe Camel making a guest appearence. Up next, John Schnieder. Alright, somebody around TPR likes Leemurs, but after that heavenly funnel cake, I can't remember who. Beemer? Derek? Crikey! Another bugger of a caption! Apparently the popcorn is just as AMAZING as the pizza at the other end. Witty caption not found. One of the better pics from the day. With that many flags, the pizza must be AMAZING! 30 flags! More flags, more aneurysm! This shot didn't work out as planned, but girlfriend found it mechanically artsy and suggested I keep it. Sure, why not. Anybody else want a bomb pop after looking at this? Fireball at Sunset. Man, that dandruff shampoo just ain't working! Me trying not to be messy. FAIL! It got all over my pant leg. Oh the powdered sugar awesomeness.....Take a moment to bask in it's beauty. While other vendors had French Fries, this one had Freedom Fries. Revolutionary idea there. Ah, the Screamatorium. Looks nice on the outside, pitch black inside, a couple decent elements, and lots of head banging. So is this what a Vekoma SLC is like? I've always thought Fireballs were cool. It's like a coaster and a swinging ship had a love child. Girlfriend on the...now what was that ride called again.....gimme a minute and I'll think of it.... Yes, that rock o plane looked totally safe.....(cringe) This was a funky octopus with arms the swung, verses the standard stiffy variety. Ok, this guy was cool. Why? He didn't smell of cabbage. He was quick on the wit, and weather or not I totally sucked at darts, he would hook me up with a prize for my girlfriend. Sure, THEY ALL say that, but this guy was a trip. Yep, girlfriend went home with a medium size frog. Strangely, that was also the first time I've ever won a date/girlfriend a prize at any fair. Made the moment extra special. Prophilactic football anyone? They had nubs. Seriously. Now this TR is Ernie and Moose approved. Ferris wheel and a short bus. Thank you Captain Obvious! There was a Miner Mike, but it's not really a credit and I just didn't have enough ho in me to take a ride. I know, what's with my priorities? Woohoo! I'm on the loose again! Who cares if it's an old runway!
  9. Glad you all had a safe trip and have a great time there. Watch out for Mongolians and City walls. Oh, and a slightly off topic, here's a restaurant in DC that buddy of mine snapped a pic of. Figured you all could appreciate it. Cheers and Best! Yes that's really the name.
  10. Can't....stop....playing........arrrghhhh.... That's way too much fun!
  11. (laughed and couldn't type for a couple minutes) Ok, you win. Good one my friend. Looking forward to seeing this one in person in the coming years.
  12. This place just gets better and better. I love the huge dragon or lizard on the side of the tornado and the surfing bay looks great! Very cool park.
  13. Looks like a fun place to go. Good job! Anyone else think the pic below looks like one of those those lovers silouette moments? "Strangers in the night...repeating glances....Strangers in the night......."
  14. ^ You mean we can't just watch both PoVs and decide from that? Yeah, I'm gonna get a slap from somebody over that one. Lol!
  15. Hmmmmm....I see your point. Old Ivy > new Ivy. Wait, is this the same series where joker has really long hair and looks like he should be in a Street Fighter game? If that's so, they're 0 for 2 in my book (heh, like my opinion really matters in the grand scheme of things). About the only rendition of Catwoman I liked was Michelle Pfiefer in the Tim Burton movies (no offense Julie Newmar). Other than that, agree with you on her. Ok charactor, but like others better. Strangely, I still want to watch Hallie Berry's Catwoman as um..."unique" as it is. Guess I'm gonna have to watch more Batman TAS and get better educated, eh? Lol! I'm such a dork....
  16. LOL! Man I get a good laugh out of this thread! My deepest respect, from one charactor (and Michael) to another.
  17. Six Flags St. Louis Remember seeing RailBlazer the day after the lady died on it. Thunder River Opryland USA Grizzly River Rampage King Dominion Avalanche Bobsled White Water Canyon The North Pole/Santa's Workshop Candy Cane Coaster Yes, some scattered references. Best I have tonight.
  18. Uh oh. Haven't seen the new show yet, but that sounds baaaaaad. Of the DC universe, Joker and Harley Quinn are my faves. You have to love a former phsychiatric doctor who whips out a rocket launcher at carload of smartarse guys who should know a little chivalry. Guys: "Waddya gonna do? Spank me? Harley Quinn: "Yeah...and here's the paddle!" I think that was during the episode where Harely bails on joker and hangs out with Ivy. Wierdly, I just got into Batman TAS. Never watched it when it was on TV, but have enjoyed the several episodes I've seen. Didn't realize that was Mark Hamil voicing joker. Yes, my Aussie hat is on too tight again. Oh well.
  19. ^^ Any place that's warm, soft, and comfy. Crappy cell pics can hide a lot, especially when it comes to fridges. Thank you though. I'm getting better at keeping things nice. Thanks Scott. It almost turned into a "TPR Scavenger Hunt" just to find references to people, but I couldn't remember clearly who all enjoyed what or had an inside joke about what. Perhaps that will appear in a future (and equally pointless) PTR. So true Moose. As for the fridge, just hadn't had time to get to the grocery store. I'm one of those weirdos in Walmart at midnight. Big suprise. Keeping an eye out for duckies during my travels for you as well as other folks likes. I cracked up Terry once with a similar line. We both had a good laugh. His response was the best: "..and I thought, somebody is feeling very free tonight!". I still chuckle over that one. Great stuff isn't it? I like the sausage. (thinks) NOT A WORD! ANY OF YOU! Not really a big drinker, but do like a wee nip of Bailey's, St. Brendons and now Brogans Irish Creme. Corona and lime now and then isn't bad either. Can we say light weight? Lol! Brogans is keeping my fridge company for a while. Hey, thanks again all. Oops, one more... Well, the insomnia and trip was about a week and a half ago, but that advice is timeless....and funny! I like it.
  20. Man what a great model model! Would'nt that be something as part of a large model railroad rig?
  21. Natalie, another great couple rounds of updates. If I'm ever out your way, we'll have to meet up, that is, if you and Chuck don't tangle first. 3 words to fear: Igor. The. Mixer.
  22. Hey man, big thank you for all the pics and coverage. I'm pretty bummed about this one, especially since it's an elusive credit and how good everyone has said it was. Again, thanks.
  23. Not really. I've been going to parks for years and seen hats, suglasses, and the like fly out. It's all part of the experience. IF you got hit with something (and that was a big, once in a blue moon, if) you said "that sucked" and went on with your life. No big deal. Yes that sort of thing happened, but neither my friends nor I felt unsafe in the slightest. I don't feel unsafe today. DarkStitch, I see and respect your viewpoint, but still stand by my feelings.
  24. Fixed. Good lady, excellent taste!
  25. Boy they aren't kidding about Buffalo Wild Wings Hot sauce. Whew! And don't even get me started on Blazin.
