  1. Go back to XP, Vista does not support many games.
  2. No one knows what the ride will be like till it opens to the public, Most B&M's are amazing and ride well. Too many trims (the park may not use them, depends on the situation at that time), 2 high, 2 fast, 2 slow, wrong colour on supports n trains, wrong type of trains, Trains 2 long, wrong type of supports, wrong area for coaster etc. All the above is just silly, there is no need to be judgemental so soon, why deny yourself just over some silly things, coasters are created for enjoyment, not to say "this one is good, but this one Jackhammers". Everyone has a choice: You ride or don't ride. Simple as that. If this ride was built nearer to where I live, I'll ride it if it was trimmed to death or not trimmed at all. Makes no difference to me as long as I get some and the ride keeps its speed along the layout.
  3. This is a lovely looking woodie, I can't wait for someone to post a proper "Raw track n screaming wheels" POV. Wish I lived near by, I would ride it every weekend.
  4. What a lovely place, you have the hot weather and water parks outside and if your 2 hot, go to the snow dome for a few hours skiing and have a cup of T in the Ice restaurant afterwards, if you win that draw drive home in a £££££ car. A perfect day. The toboggans slides look good
  5. I'm very sad to hear a fellow coaster enthusiast having his life cut short at such a young age. RIP I'm sure there is a bigger version of MF or Magnum XL coaster ( or your fav coaster) up in Heaven. Dan: when we are ready to join you we can all put our hands up down the drops and scream together.
  6. I have a PS3 and very happy with the Blu Ray films picture quality.. I'm thinking of getting a 360 Elite with a HD DVD Player in a few weeks. Just wondered what the real difference in picture quality is between "Blu Ray" and " HD-DVD" films..? I Is "HD DVD" Region Free so I can buy USA films and it playsback in a PAL / European machine..? Has any 360 Elite's had the "Red Ring Of Death" error.. Inside the Elite 360: http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/news/inside_the_xbox_360_elite.htm
  7. From CNN Website: Any more news about this topic, and who got suspended..? --------------------------------------------------- World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended 10 performers for violations of a policy that requires drug tests, the company said Thursday. Stamford-based WWE says it issued suspension notices based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County New York District Attorney's Office. WWE spokeswoman Jennifer McIntosh would not identify the performers or specify how they violated the policy. She referred other questions to the district attorney's office, where a message seeking comment was left. Under the wellness policy, which requires tests for steroids and other drugs, a wrestler faces a 30-day suspension for a first violation, a 60-day suspension for a second violation and firing for a third violation. In June, pro wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife and young son and hanged himself. Investigators say Benoit had a steroid and other drugs in his system at the time. Earlier this month, WWE officials met with New York prosecutors investigating illegal steroid sales. At the time, McIntosh confirmed the meeting but declined to comment on what was discussed.
  8. A Fine Report from TP Land, A good day can be had as long as the Q's are not raging long. You certainly made a massive drive from "down south" to "Surrey" just for the day. The M25 is a nightmare and best to be avoided at all costs, unless the time is 11pm or more, Should be able to do 100mph with no camera's anywhere. So much for TP's "beacon / signature" ride working straight for 1 week before it dies again, TP should contact Cedar Point to see how TTD is run. Why does "Stealth" always have lots of downtime. It's a one trick Donkey ride and TP could of spent the money on a proper Out n Back or Twister steel or woodie. Hopefully with the 2009 "Flyer" TP image can change for the better and become a proper grown up park.
  9. I hate political's, they talk rubbish and put the Tax's up so high people have to sell their houses and live on the breadline in England. I can vote, but don't, because what ever party gets in will be the same or simular as the party who left. There will be no change and the TAX's will raise.
  10. Depending on the amount I won: 1) Buy Thorpe Park and Paultons Park an Out n Back / Twister / Racer Wooden Coaster from GG or GCI 2) Give money to a local Zoo called "Marwell Zoo" 3) Give money to Battersea Cats n Dog Home in London 4) Employ people to run my new Business, I could semi - retire. 5) Look after friends / work and real friends so they are fixed for life with no bills. 6) Move away from England and live in Holland / Canada as soon as possible. 7) Build a custom house with a 4 lane - bowling alley, Old style Home cinema room, All weather Tennis courts, Big swimming pool with water slides and rapids which has tunnels and up-hill sections. 8) Bank the rest and live off the profit and interest.
  11. The Japanese video has been removed from the link, can someone post it again from a different site.
  12. I would not wait more than 2.5 - 3 hours for a ride. What months do "CP" have less people in the Park..? As soon as the gates opens I run to the back of the Park to ride their coasters and work my way forward to the front for the afternoon / evening.
  13. Nice TPR with tons of pic's, post some more. I like the "Rock-O-Plane (The Egg Wheel) and "Trabant", some of my fav flat rides. If you are in England head to any "Butlins": Minehead and Bognor Regis as they have a "Trabant" in their fair. I call "Trabant" a Mexican Hat ride.
  14. Why did the attraction close...? Was it due to no-one going to the park or just in the wrong place and went bust.
  15. I've never been to the Park so I can't say how the coaster rode. It does look a weird design but you have to thank the company who designed it for trying something so different. There is always a sad feeling when any type of wood / steel coaster no matter how rough it has become gets "razed" and put into storage. 6FMM should put "Flashback" on E-Bay for a $1 starting bid. I think the ride will be put somewhere else in the Park in a few years time, hopefully another woodie will replace the one which got torn down.
  16. I called "Cannon Ball" amazing cos in England (UK) there are no woodies which looks as nice as this one. I would rather ride this type of layout then any of the coasters at BPB. Most of the coasters in England are boring, USA are so lucky to have the best wooden and steel coasters.
  17. Nice TPR report and great photo's of the Park: This is how my ultimate woodie (don't need record breaking height, intense layout, the older woodies are better than most new ones) looks like, White paint, flags, nice height, speed, lots of hills n humps, park the car next to the tracks, take close photo's of it and built by John Allen. Perfect to ride all day n night. "Cannon Ball" looks an amazing woodie which has been kept to a high standard, fresh coat of white paint every year I can imagine. Does it have "chaser lights" going up the lift-hill at night-time..? There seems to be a lot of space to expand if the Park wants to, "Zippin Pippin" or another endangered woodie could have a home here if the Park was intrested in saving them. Is the Park easy to drive to if I fly over from England for a couple of weeks to visit....? --------------------------------------------------- Don't forget to remove your long eyebrow hairs
  18. I drove from England (7 hours from my house with a stop over at Walibi World in Holland for a day) to Heide-Park in 2005. I found it very tidy and ever so friendly staff. T he Park is laid out very nice with all the rides being in a "not too far away walk" from each other. The mighty Colossos is heaven for a Woodie, the 1st outward leg over the hills are amazing, you would not stay in the seat if the seatbelts were not there. The worst part of the ride is the downward helix which is rough, you hit more mini hills and the banked corner into the brakes. When the trains goes over the outward hills you can hear the "Upstop" wheels working over-time. Both water rides are great fun with a big drop at the end of one of them and the station is underground. Let's hope the park can get planning permission for a Mini "MF" style coaster. I'll def visit Heide-Park again in a few years to sample the delights of German hospitality and the wonderful Colossos.
  19. Village: Hook , Hampshire Nearest City: London 50 miles away
  20. Gravity Group are amazing experts in wood design, if your park is after the 1920/30's look I say GCI is above GG.
  21. It's always sad to see a woodie staying silent and not running, esp the Zippin Pippin which was Elvis fav coaster. Hopefully in a few years a Park might buy the ride and restore it back to it's status. Did the deal fall through when the park got sold..?
  22. Great report so far Divv: I found Thorpe Park a let down this year, not bothered with "chavs, pikies, hoodies or all the other silly names which people are called" in the Q lines as long as everyone is normal and do not try to Q jump, shouting etc. With hiring younger staff below 30 years old, customer service and quick ride turn a-rounds do not exsist anymore, the Ops go at their own pace and everyone q's longer. The best Ops were on "Inferno", very fast and quick to unload and despatch the trains. Makes a chance for once..
  23. Even though I don't know you, Congratulations "Big Mike" on your 500th coaster ride. I don't count the coasters I've ridden since I started 20 years ago, I just enjoy the day with whom i'm with. I have ridden most of the coasters in the England, a few in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and USA. I must have over 100 different coasters credits. Who is counting and why does it matter to have the most. ?
  24. Living in England (UK), I have not had the chance to visit Geauga Lake. I would like to ask: Why is this park not needed and why does it seem wrong that CF took it over..? Should Geauga Lake be closed down...? Geauga Lake looks like a good place to spend a day with a great water park and some coasters, if CF remove the coasters, they can add new ones over the years to make the park become more popular. The Park could do with a Mini "MF" or "Magnum XL200".
  25. Nice looking Out n Back Hyper Coaster from B&M, good open train design which will get more people scared on those long drops. The ending looks a bit of a flat one though, could of had lots more bunny hops / banked stall turns with some tunnels before slamming the brake run. The meaning and history of "Behemoth": The word is most likely a plural form of בהמה (bəhēmāh), meaning beast or large animal. It may be an example of pluralis excellentiae, a Hebrew method of expressing greatness by pluralizing a noun; it thus indicates that Behemoth is the largest and most powerful animal. Metaphorically, the name has come to be used for any extremely large or powerful entity. In Jewish belief, Behemoth is the primal unconquerable monster of the land, as Leviathan is the primal monster of the waters of the sea and Ziz the primordial monster of the sky. There is a legend that the Leviathan and the Behemoth shall hold a battle at the end of the world. The two will finally kill each other, and the surviving men will feast on their meat. According to midrash recording traditions, it is impossible for anyone to kill a behemoth except for the person who created it, in this case the God of the Hebrews. A later Jewish haggadic tradition furthermore holds that at the banquet at the end of the world, the behemoth will be served up along with the Leviathan and Ziz. Behemoth also appears in the Apocryphal Book of Enoch, giving the following description of this monster's origins there mentioned as being male, as opposed to the female Leviathan: "And that day will two monsters be parted, one monster, a female named Leviathan in order to dwell in the abyss of the ocean over the fountains of water; and (the other), a male called Behemoth, which holds his chest in an invisible desert whose name is Dundayin, east of the garden of Eden." - 1 Enoch 60:7-8 There is another Jewish hymn recited on the festival of Shavuot (celebrating the giving of the Torah), known as Akdamut, wherein it says: "...The sport with the Leviathan and the ox (Behemoth)...When they will interlock with one another and engage in combat, with his horns the Behemoth will gore with strength, the fish [Leviathan] will leap to meet him with his fins, with power. Their Creator will approach them with his mighty sword [and slay them both]." Thus, "from the beautiful skin of the Leviathan, God will construct canopies to shelter the righteous, who will eat the meat of the Behemoth [ox] and the Leviathan amid great joy and merriment, at a huge banquet that will be given for them." ---------------------------------------------------------- Expect a coaster called "Leviathan" in the near future, so the 2 coasters can do battle.
