The Blue Streak got off lightly with it's train at the bottom of the lift-hill, will someone put it back into the station or keep it in the "Skunk" tunnel.. Those teenagers could of used some lighter fluid and set fire to the station / circuit and that would be so devastating to hear, it is one of the best loved "Classic" woodies left. Can someone post pictures of how the Blue Streak looks now, why will it be difficult to re-open next year..? Is this due to structure supports and rails which need replacing.

1) I hate "KK" and "Stealth", both of them are a waste of space / money and far to short, why put the brake run 1/2 over a bunny hop hill when there is enough speed to add another 2,000ft of track before hitting the brakes. 2) I hate England being 2nd to everyone else, be it coasters, cars etc, 2 many health and safety issues and speed camera's. England + Big brother camera's everywhere + Nanny state + Diesel Fuel price is £1.05 a litre = dumb country to live in. Let all the Eastern European people move into the UK cos I'm moving out.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces "X2"
verticalzero replied to Loco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The tunnel can go on the brake run If a ride can be improved for it's customers then great, but 2 spend $10 million on it, how can the park justify that figure.. MM could have a copy of the Crystal Beach "Cyclone" or Playland Park "Airplane" woodies for 1/2 that cost and their attendance would double. Figures do not impress me, it's the coaster layout and connection with the enviroment which matters. -
When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's (those were the years and good ones, no silly health n safety rules like today, Sparklers are banned at firework displays for Nov 5th) there was no sayings to describe someone, e.g. Chav's.. I would like to know what type of person, what they say, how they speak and type of clothes the following people wear to be in that class: Chav's Pikies any other names teenagers are called.

Blu Ray v HD DVD Picture Quality
verticalzero replied to verticalzero's topic in Random, Random, Random
I bought a 360 Elite along with a HD DVD player, I know the HD player for the 360 is "Region Free" and order any films which are not out in the UK from the USA. A copy of Transformers arrived on Tuesday on HD DVD for me, it looks amazing, so much detail and much better than at the cinema. UK has to wait till 3rd Dec before "Transformers" comes out. Why wait when you can buy early. I bought Blu-ray "Spiderman Trilogy" from Australia last week due to the running times being 10 mins longer than the UK version. 394 mins compared to 371.. Bargin at £40 inc p&p -
Lisebergbanan's crash Report
verticalzero posted a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One of the Lisebergbanan's traines rolled back into the station immediately after it normally should have hooked into the lifthill chain. The ride was out of function for several weeks as the two trains have obviously collided quite intensely. The Swedish Accident Investigation Board has finished the report on the accident on Lisebergbanan. A loose screw holding the lift hill chain together and a bad construction of the reverse brake was the main factors of this accident. The report can be found here: http://www.havkom.se/virtupload/news/ro2007_03.pdf -
Six Flags should sell "Gas Masks" instead, just imagine the picture of the train with everyone wearing a mask.

Lovely shots of the Parks and I hope you can get your mobile phone back quickly.. Draw a red circle round your phone using "Paint Shop Pro" or any simular drawing package and send the picture to Customer Relations of the Park, or go back there if you can and show a member of Staff where you phone landed. Hope it does not rain for a few weeks. -

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
verticalzero replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
During a visit to the Park someone could ask a member of staff if they have heard of the trains gonna be replaced for the "Racer" and "Beast" in the next couple of seasons. Has the "Beast" ever had short trains say to carry 24 people instead of 36. KI have placed "brakes" on the Beast for a reason, they want to slow it down or people have complained about it's ride. On the next "BeastBuzz", ask the managment if the brakes can be turned off or removed for 1 season to see if anyone complains. We are all looking for the perfect coaster ride, no brakes, no roughness, no jackhammering, no slamming into the "Buzzbar".. The problem is there may not be a perfect coaster out there. As I have said in other topic's, it's the parks who needs to look after their coasters with TLC, if a woodie is bouncing down the drops or jackhammering, replace the tracks / wheels to make the ride smoother for their customers. If a park does not look after their coasters it's their own fault for loss of attendance and their coasters will get "ripped" on forums like this one. My near perfect wood coaster is "Colossos", it has prefabricated track, super smooth and tons of . Still don't know why there is so much of a loss of height from the top of the structure to the 1st drop. Height: 196' 10" Drop: 159' 1" While El Toro does not lose much height from the lift hill to the 1st drop: Height: 181' Drop: 176' Never had the pleasure of riding "Balder" yet, due to most people here loving it I can assume the Park looks after it properly. -
Alton Towers/Camping Trip Review 2006
verticalzero replied to Patty's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Ripsaw" looks like it's been cut itself, needs a re-paint quickly. I do like Alton Towers but it needs a woodie coaster, something like "Falken" or a small version of "Balder" which does not go above the tree line will do fine. Any news on what the old Black Hole tent is going to be used for. -

I love the Beast, it is suppose to be a hard bumpy-ish ride cos it's a woodie. Shame the brakes slow the ride down a bit, but it does pick up its speed again within the underground tunnel. Best ride for me was at night, hands up for the whole circuit. -
Cool and Fresh - Yes this is a coaster!
verticalzero replied to Axman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I read about this coaster last year in the European Coaster Club magainze called "First Drop". It is a very intense coaster, shame it's not longer with a few airtime hills and corners, I would not try it cos A) the loop is very small with high "G's" and B) A vertical drop.
